Had a great feed at the 5th avenue food court (5th floor mbk) today . Whilst there are many different types of food to be had there , i chose spanish meatballs with this delicious lightly toasted bread to mop up the sauce . Very yummy and reasonably priced . They issue you a card on entry that you use at any of the micro restaurants inside . You then pay at a check out on leaving . Highly recomend anyone trying it if in Mbk shopping centre

This is the newly refurbished hotel that sits on top of the new Check-in Bar. It is a no bells and whistles joint for sure. It is though, a) Cheap b) Central c) Clean.

There are 24 rooms spread over 2 floors. All the fittings are new such as beds, linen, pillows, aircon, shower heaters etc. The floor is painted with the stuff you see in car dealerships - it actually works surprisingly enough.

The prices seem to vary from 800b to 1100b. I have stayed twice now and paid 900b first time, then 800b second time. No idea why that was. The hotel is currently NOT BUSY - you could just walk up and get a room.

There are no other facilities and I do not remember seeing an in room safe. I will ask him about that when I next go to the bar, as for many it will be important. You do get noise from Country Road which is below some rooms (that is the live music bar next to Check in). If important, ask for a room over Check in bar. Last time I stayed, the room was over Country road and I had no problem - but then I was not trying to get some sleep at midnight.

Here is a good primer for using advanced codes with Matrix that allow you to plan routes using specific airlines or routing thru LAX or NRT or wherever:

    http://hackmytrip.com/2012/09/using-routing-language-with-ita-fare-matrix/

You can't book trips with Matrix. Instead, you print up your itenarary and either give it to a travel agent or call the airline directly. There is no way for the consumer to input the all the codes into airline websites. I use Matrix for my flights, and it has always been my experience that giving the codes to a TA is easier than trying to book codes directly with the airlines. The airlines act as if you are pulling their teeth out when you read out all those booking codes to them over the phone. TA's are happy to do it for you because you have already done all the legwork for them.

Well two years on and I am still here living with it.

I had my annual medical check up last week and I am in better shape now than I was when I was first diagnosed, all blood counts back to normal viral load lower than it was when first diagnosed etc.

I have just moderated my alcohol intake, I.e. Less than one bottle of Vodka / day and keep beer under 12 per day, I jest you not, plus a slightly healthier diet ( no vodka on my cornflakes), Joking aside, where as I used to drink everyday I will now go a few days a month dry and allow the body to recover and have started eating more fresh food, currently in Vietnam there is no fast food so no option but for fresh, feeling as fit as a fiddle for a 50 year old.

The only downside is how it is perceived by various Nations, Middle East is a no go area for me anymore as is Australia (Work Permit Wise) even in Vietnam it was a struggle to get medical clearance signed off, now if I worked in F&B, Medical or Childcare I would understand but I design oil Refineries and Power Plants I am only intimate at work with my computers.

Boomerang reacted to Bwana_LB in has anyone caught an std?
I get a kick out of posters who claim they've never had an STD, saying "I got tested and came back clear." Or "I've never had a single symptom."

Fact is, for most men, many STDs are asymptomatic. Sometimes you'll get a bout that will cause you pain and discomfort (the ol' pissing razorblades syndrome), but in other instances you'll be infected but won't have any symptoms. But, being infected, you'll be infecting others if you're going BB.

This is especially a problem with HPV, which is almost always asymptomatic in men, and there's no test for HPV in men. The upside is there aren't too many risks for men, aside from ugly warts that might develop, but for GGs it's a different story. And since HPV is epidemic among sex workers (probably as close to 100% as you can get), it's a near certainty that we've all had or have HPV. And there's no treatment for HPV. The warts can be burned off, and the virus usually clears all by itself among men after a few months, but until it does, you are a carrier.

Boomerang reacted to Gympy in Jasmine City Hotel / Jasmine Executive suites Soi 23
    Hi,
Can't see any reviews for this so I thought I add one given I stayed here for a couple of nights. I usually stay at the JW mariott as I travel for work and they pay but this time I had to book a room for a couple of night at my own expense. I then moved to the JW Mariott on Soi 2 so it worked out OK... nice to stay at both ends of the magic strip from Soi 4 to Soi 21.

Jasmine is more serviced apartments as opposed to a full hotel but it has a restaurant and a gym and a pool. As far I can see the complex used to be split into the Jasmine Executive Suites and the Jasmine City Hotel and there are still two websites but on Agoda it is all listed under one heading of Jasmine City Hotel.

Location: Just at the junction of Soi 23 and Sukhumvit main road. It's about 100M walk to the Soi Cowboy and 100M to a stairs leading to Asoke BTS, MRT, Terminal 21. Good location for transport and easy to get to and from airport by train.

General impressions: Somewhat confusing layout. It's basically two connected towers where the suites start from Floor 10 up to 30. The lower floors are part of a mall and a car park so you enter it via a very small lobby off the car park entrance where you take the lift to the 10th floor. The 10th floor has the formal lobby where you check in. Depending on which part you are staying in you can also get to your rooms by a choice of three other sets of lifts directly off the car park entrance.

This is the picture off Agoda and you can see the two parts of the complex. The tall tower on the left is Executive Suites and the building on the right is the City Hotel.

Rooms: Room was nice. I booked an Executive Jacuzzi suite because it was on special offer at 2500 Baht (no breakfast) but to be honest it was not worth the extra over the normal deluxe suite which was on offer for 1900 baht. The Executive suite I got was on floor 11 and had a jacuzzi as well as a shower and had more space but in fact the extra space was of no use as you can see from photos. There are other room stypes including proper 1 and 2 bed suites. Prices seem to vary a lot ... I had seen prices ranging from 2000 to 10,000 baht for the same room types over the space of a few days ! I think the recent downturn in tourist travel due to the protests has hit this place so I seem to have booked at a good time.

Bedroom with nice sofa (put to good use ) :

View from bedroom back to entrance. Bathroom has a window into room and you can see the 'living room' with a kitchen in the middle. This extra space was badly laid out. It would be much better to have it incorporated into the bedroom and have a nice couch there with a table.

OUtside on the same floor as the lobby is a smallish swimming pool with a coupe of small terraces around it for sunbathing. The pool area is between the two towers and faces East-West so I bet there is not much sun on the pool in December. This picture was taken at about 11:30AM in mid April :

The Gym is small but good range of equipment and I did not eat in the restaurant as I worked most days and got breakfast in the office.

Guest Friendly : Very much so but if you want the reassurance of a hotel taking a girls ID and checking up with you then this is not the place to stay. If you are the opposite and want somewhere where you can treat your room like your own apartment then I would say it's ideal. You just walk into the car park entrance area and go to one of the sets of lifts and head up. This is based on where I was staying on floor 11 of the City Hotels block. I can't say for certain about the other block but I think its the same. You get a lift and there is no need to stop on the lobby floor..you can go direct to your own floor as long as you use your room keycard.

The place felt almost abandoned it was so quiet and it has a weird layout as regards lifts to rooms. I never saw anyone around after 8PM and I took a few guests back over the few nights I stayed there and we never met a soul. If you can get a good price and like the whole serviced apartment with minimal customer service and staff interaction then it's a good place to stay.

    All,

I have found a way into the forum that doesn't redirect to the url.info site. I had been having significant problems getting in until this method and it has worked so far.

When I google "Bangkok ladyboy forum", the third main link choice is to www.bangkokladyboys.net

Clicking this link is not to the forum itself but to what I guess I would call a "pre-forum page" - looks like a blog page type set up probably created when the forum was first started.

On this page, there is a left hand menu with the second choice down being "Bangkok LB Forum". Click this link and you will go to the actual forum with no redirect.

This method has so far not redirected ever for me. Please try this way and if it works for others, perhaps the mods can make a flashing headline of this method somewhere in the main forum so folks will know a route in that works (until the problem is fixed...)

Boomerang reacted to DeepnHard in Condoms and oils, a dangerous mix.
Forgive me if you all know this like scripture. I did a site search (using the search engine) and couldn't find this topic discussed, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

As far as sex lubricants go, oils are very dangerous--for instance like Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil (a mineral oil), or even something as innocuous as coconut oil. The oils are a bit deceptive too, because they often don't break the condom outright, but nonetheless eat little microscopic holes in the latex, which are invisible to the eye but big enough for STDs, including AIDS to easily pass through.

Water based lubricants are the way to go, though I hate them because they always dry out so quickly (though you can make them slippery again be adding water).

I once tested the above facts (to see how bad the situation about was) with two condoms: one I'd lubed with water based lube and the other with J&J baby oil. I let them sit for about 20 minutes on my bureau then tried to break each by stretching them. I couldn't break the water lube, by the baby oil broke easily with just mild stretching. (I was demonstrating this for a Cambodian GG, who didn't believe me)

I once saw a site that did systematic testing of this sort (unfortunately I can't locate it) and determined that for many oils you only have perhaps 5 minutes before holes develop in the condom. Much more time was needed for breakage but only 5 minutes or so to catch an STD.

All this is bad news for me. I love J&J baby oil to lube up my baby.

This article says it's more like 1 minute with some lubes...

I see what you are getting at, but you are still misunderstanding probability theory. If the odds of a result are 100 to 1, they are always 100 to 1 for any given incident. The more times you engage an act the more likely you are to get that 1 time in a hundred result. But just because you've escaped 99 times does not in any way change the odds on your 100th time.

Boomerang reacted to crazycloud in Hiv In Ladyboy Scene
There is a misunderstanding here about the principles of probability theory. If the odds are 100 to 1 they are 100 to 1 every time. The odds don't change with each subsequent act. You could be infected the 1st time, the 50th time, the 100th time. It just means that if you engage in the act 100 times you are likely to be infected once.

If you are concerned with the risk of HIV, it's very simple. Use condoms for anal sex every time. Oral sex is a risk for other STDs, but it is not a risk for HIV.

Using the star symbol * like hughjass mentioned can work . Sometimes trying variations of this like toy** or ***toy etc etc can be productive also . Can be very handy also when the spelling of a name may vary . The name Noi , Noy , Noey , being a good example , searching No* or No** may provide better results .
    Cheers
