Any reason you don't use an agent? They get their fee from the owner and will find you condos that you might not knew about. Post a message in one of the many fb-groups and be very specific about the following: From which date, rental length (nobody will contact you for less than 12 month rent), budget, sqm, rooms, facilities, old/new, distance to MRT/BTS.
    The reason for 1y contract:
    - The owners don't want the hassle of finding new tendents any given month. Many have several condos for rent and are business minded (busy).
    - The agents gets 1month fee of the 12month rent and that works as a motivation for finding the correct one. Plenty that wants a 50k fee. Sometimes they will share the fee with another agent if that specific agent has the condo you want.

If you´re not confortable posting in fb check the many YT videos from agents reviewing condos in the Sukhumvit area and reach out to them. It is free for you anyway.
Tip: There is often room to negotiate on price, or add/change things that you want in the condo. A Thai agent will actually be a better negotiater than you most of the time since westerns can be a bit too direct and that's not how Thai culture works.

I have faced this problem so I checked her in and then informed them the next day she is checking out while I am staying. Two nights later I checked another in and checked her out the next morning. Since the booking was for two people they accepted it and the third time they just waived off. This was not Movenpick in bkk but another hotel.

Yes I have eventually a couple of times. Very good rooms if you get the 6th floor. Please don’t get anything above the suite floors. There is no lift and you have to drag the suitcase up one stairs yourself. They are very strict in registering guests and would keep the id cards until they leave..
Dont go to the massage attached to it as old ladies and they offer HJ at the end in a special room.

Thanks. Similarly for me as well in that I never use the facilities like the gym, pool and bar. So just need a decent room and shower. Mirrors might be a nice addition.

I have stayed in Galleria 10 a few times. It’s was good for the price. During the day I am always out so never use the pool or the bar. Never had any issues and I always bring back from CIB.
Citadines on 11 have bigger rooms but a lot of noise from the bar’s outside. So loud it’s difficult to sleep.

Yep it is easy to search for hotels online but......I think the purpose of the OP is to get recommendations from fellow mongers.
Agoda and booking.com don't tell you if the rooms are noisy or if they are guest friendly or how the staff treat you when you walk in with 2 ladyboys to take to your room or if the foyer is filled with families/kids who may have to ride the elevator with you and your 2 horn bag LBs. maybe educational for the children but I am sure some members may be embarrassed at those sort of hotels.

Thank you Alvin. If I stay in soi 11, I stay in Citadines as the rooms are fairly spacious and the crowd who stay there is not that bad, The Ambassador is a good spot but my last experience was not good so had not stayed there for a long time. As you said the crowd who stay there does create problems sometimes and it’s not to my liking.
I will give it a miss then.

    Suits me fine.
In the Premiere suite the bathroom is quite big as are the other rooms.
Restaurant is good. Has the benefit of an outside area which looks down on passing foot traffic. This paid dividends for me as I met a very nice LB who happened to walk past and I caught her eye. Bingo. A match made. Going to catch up with her during my upcoming trip. (photo attached). Have seen a couple of CIB girls in there with their "clientele".  I get on well with the reception staff and the concierge. A nice guy. Always smiling. The one thing it hasn't got, and I would like, is a pool. Neither has it a gym. Mind you with my physique I dont need to visit one of those.
The only downer I can recall is the reception staff stopping me taking 2 CIB girls to my room. Only one at a time!
So for my trip in March, due to it being a warm time of year I am trying a couple of others. Hopeland, (Denbosch think it is ok but sometimes I doubt his opinion!). Also going to give Promenade a go.

I fly a lot on them. They have PE on some of their 789 and all 777. Service is good on PE and business class. Never flew economy on them so can’t comment.
in fact I am flying with them tomorrow too. PE seats are worth it because the pitch and width is good. Separate small cabin for PE. Looks like the old business class. Fairly good recline. If you need to get out obviously the best is an aisle seat in the middle row. The 777 has 2-4-2 in PE. There is a foot rest too. The Inflight Entertainment is crap though.

Last year one time at departure the queues had backed up to the escalator. So as you say it's a lottery. I think doing away the landing card has also made it a lot easier.

The best way to do this is to wear multiple layers of clothing. Yes you are legally allowed to wear multiple layers. I mean two or three pairs of underwear. A pair of shorts and your pants over that. 3 socks and two t shirts and a polo shirt over them. Grab a t shirt and roll it over your head as a turban.
The rest you can put it in your carry on. Once you get thru the airline staff just take those off and put them in your carry on.
