xcom got a reaction from Nick Bullseye in The Landmark
I am here right now, i think it is fantastic.Employees are kind and courteous, they don't badger any guest of mine that comes in alone. Nice Pool and sunbathing area when needing to relax.

Thanks for the info.
Syama reviews on Booking and Trip are not good to say the least and the hotel has never been discussed here in this forum.
Can I ask why you chose Syama in the first place ? Location and price ?

I wanted to try something different because I always stay at the landmark, bad choice
Edit, I went to get my bags. I did only slept in this room once or twice and it was empty for four days. They did not give me back my 2,500 deposit for some obscure reason. Couldn't be arsed to argue and left

You need to be careful for sure. Last trip I needed a room just for one night in Nana, but I wanted to go cheap. I almost took a room at a place in a lane off soi 4 which was cheap enough, but asked to see the room first - no secure latch to door and the window was not secure. Stayed at Dynasty Inn instead - more expensive but peace of mind.

I do not like this hotel. It is located right next door to ladyboy massage shop at BTS nana. I left it after 2 days and still need to go back and get the rest of my clothes
1- no one greet or help me with case. annoying boy on check in desk just sits and grins
2 this is a massive security risk. I lost my keycard so I went to get another and gives my room number. Different Guy on desk charges me give me new card.no name or security check.
I went up to room about to open door and I realise it is not my room I gave him the wrong number. Turns out I'm not thief, killer or I would have a Field day. Told the guy on desk and he grinned, didn't even ask for my name or id the second time
I have left hotel with 3 days still on tick, who knows what you might wake up to. Will be walking back there now to get my case and haul it across road. I wonder if the rooms been raided since I have.been gone

cant stand hotels that require a card to use the lift, i like the landmark is my fav but begrudge the price. I am thinking about petals inn on soi 4 or @mind in bts on nut for my stay in a few months

I've stayed there and can't remember! So I'm thinking it's not that great - standard bkk hotel gym. I took these off various travel sites.

Just a heads-up for some of you BMs that have the Asok-Nana area as your stomping grounds and don't really enjoy the monthly trek to the Pit of Silom to visit Pulse. Pulse are opening up an Asok clinic in August. It will be located in Soi 13 in the Trendy building. This couldn't be more convenient for me - it's literally across the road.
I take this as a sign from God that I need to bareback a bunch of ladyboy hookers ASAP.

Walk of shame? Shame for who? Think about it: You're already staying at a hotel in a notorious red light district. It's a bit ridiculous to suddenly be concerned about appearances, don't you think?
As for Phachara, because it is located on mongering ground zero and a lot of their business is directly related to the local p4p scene, there is nothing you can do that the staff hasn't seen one zillion times before. They don't care. Most other guests don't care because they are engaged in same shenanigans you are. As for the minority of guests who are offended by what consenting adults are doing, that's their problem not yours.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over that. I have stayed there 6 or 7 times over the years. That has been their "official" policy all along, but they don't really enforce it. I too like to take more than one guest per day into my room, and did it all the time when I stayed there. Only once did they try to tack on joiner fee at checkout. I politely asked them to remove it and pointed out that I was a repeat customer. They removed the charges quickly with no questions asked.
During the daytime, just march with your guest to the elevators like you own the place and nobody will say will a word about IDs or signing in guests. At night time they usually have a guard at a table in the lobby collecting IDs of guests and there won't be any getting around him, but that doesn't matter because as said above their guest policy fee BS isn't really enforced.
Interesting that you mentioned Landmark as an alternative, because they also have an official 1K baht guest fee policy that they don't bother to collect. This is from my email to them a few years ago in the hotel guest policy thread. Scroll down to post #25 in thread link below to see what they said when asked.....

Maybe you mean Amari? If so, they also have (or had) a guest fee. See post #1 in same guest policy thread. Unlike Landmark and Phachara I have never stayed at Amari, so I have no idea if they actually collect the fee or not. The point is, many hotels in lower Sukhumvit have these fees on the books but they aren't serious about them.

You’ll see the odd ladyboy around. Especially it the food hall in Tesco Lotus and the usual food outlets such as KFC, MacDonald’s and Starbucks.
I do remember a stunning ladyboy having a stall of moblie phone accessories and even took her to lunch. No idea if she’s still there, but was game for it.
As Mikel as said it as changed a bit with the night market getting knocked down and replaced with Condos. I used to spend many a good night starting off there listening to live bands and the food stalls were the best around. It used to attract a lot university gg’s and lbs.
i know what you mean about Nana being in your face when staying there. It’s good to get away from it and relax.

Exactly i was in the landmark for nearly 3 weeks and day 12 i wanted out. Thats a shame the Night market would have been good; Being a few train stops away i can explore a bit more instead of being in nana-asoke, or i'll probably come running back .

I’ve stayed at @Mind a few times and take the one bedroom suite and it’s only a couple of quid more and well worth it.
previous post I did on the hotel
@Mind Executive Suites Sukhumvit Soi 85
I have already posted the pictures above a couple of posts earlier the day I arrived. I had meant to do a report on the hotel there and then but with one thing another (drink & LBS mostly) I could not get it done.
Here is a brief outline. After arriving at 9.30 at the airport and I had not made an early room booking. I decided to take the airport link train and change at Phaya Thai BTS to the hotel in On Nut soi 85 It takes about 5 to 8 minutes walk from On Nut BTS to the hotel that is just inside soi 85
To my surprise I could check in to my 1 bed room suite straight away. First thing I noticed was how new things were and how clean it was. The rooms are of good design with a dining table for two at the far end of the room from the balcony Sofa (can be made in to a spare bed) and table with a flat screen tv & dvd player. Kitchen as everything you need including coffee, tea sugar and a kettle. Plus a microwave too. Its as a large refrigerator not a mini bar
There is a balcony with a sink to wash shorts etc after swimming or you can use the balcony to smoke if that's your thing.
Wifi was excellent in both bedroom and lounge room
"two flat screen tv's in one in bedroom and one in Lounge room. The same with Air con which was nice as you could leave lounge on low for breakfast in the morning. Rather than have to wait 10 - 15 minutes for it to cool. I was given two key cards and kept one in the key slot to keep the rooms at a low cool temp.
Bathroom as shower with a rain shower above.
LB friendly as I brought two back on my first night and one back each night after that for the five nights I stayed there.
Location. Well it's pretty far from Nana to walk but 15 mins BTS 37 baht and 70 to 80 baht coming back in a taxi

I've stayed at @Mind three times over the years and agree with OTS that the one bedroom is worth the extra. It's a good location although the area has changed dramatically with brand new condo towers dominating the skyline.
The gym is rubbish. If you're a fitness fan try Muscle Factory (a short cab ride away). The rooftop pool is tiny - maybe two people lazing around is enough. Still big enough to enjoy a ladyboy in though.....
During my last stop (Late 2017) I noticed all new staff in rebranded uniforms and a greater air of professionalism but a decline in charm (also wall to wall Chinese tourists). Breakfast wasn't as good as previous vusits. I'd stay for a night possibly two and am now looking at Viva Garden in Bang Chak one BTS stop south.

I do like Citrus hotels and stayed at Soi 13 a couple of times and Soi 11 five times and never had any problems at either.
Took a few photos of the Soi 6 hotel being built six weeks ago and will more than likely stay there next trip.
