Robert.Farang reacted to whitecck in has anyone caught an std?
    Hi Guys,
I know this is an old post, and i hope it is ok to revive it for such an important topic. i don`t want to ruin anyone`s hardon, but i figure it is important for me to tell my story.
So..I was a hetro for many many years and never had any experiences with anyone except for women. Fast forward to my 4th or 5th trip to BKK on biz and i found myself drunk in nana and trying to stick my tongue down a hot hot "chick"`s throat - when suddenly i was informed that there was a little extra between the legs, and to my surprise it didn`t bother me - in fact i liked it! Fast forward 10 years later and i became a LB "addict", where this became my preference by default, and teh center of my free time. So many things about LB that i love, but, i can sum it up in 4 words - I love the sex!!!
So, playing around like the rest of us, sometimes on top, some times on bottom, always with condom except for BJ (giving and getting).
Always healthy, never really any issues. Fast forward 5 years ago, i caught my first case of gonorrhea (i was 45 years old!!)....who knows how and from whom. Got rid of it and all was great.
2 years ago, i had an encounter with a "bored in room and looking for fun" lb that i met on CL. She did not want cash, was originally from VN but lived in the USA here for plastic surgery (that was her story) and we started to play. After some regular foreplay, she got on top (with a condom) and things were great. At a certain point i reached back to feel the condom (i always do this for reassurance) and just as i did, she pulled out and said "oops it just slipped off a second ago".
Ok,... didn`t think much of it. She put it back on and we played a bit more and that was that.
Well....as you can all guess, that was not "THAT".....
a few weeks later, flu-like symptoms, doc visit, anti-biotics, symptoms don`t clear, a week or 2 go by, i go back to doctor and he sends me to the ID Doc, he runs the array of tests and comes back with the bad news - i am HIV positive....shock...utter shock! How? What? Me? I`m a married guy with a good job, kids, no drugs, always use condoms...THIS CAN`T BE HAPPENING!!!
It was horrible. I was completely uneducated and thought that i would die a shameful horrible death within months - luckily i was absolutely wrong. Started meds, read and researched TONS, told the wife who supported me throughout the process, she is neg, after a few months i was UD, perfectly healthy, perfect CD4 and life has gone on.

A few things to learn from my case (regarding HIV only! - there are many other STD`s):
any risk of exposure is a real risk of exposure and should be treated accordingly. Bottoms and needle users (for whatever) have the highest risk of exposure. 1 second of exposure is exposure. Had i been educated, i would have known about PeP. If you have been exposed, PeP is a real option that has a VERY HIGH chance of preventing infection. For those that don`t know, PeP is basically taking HIV meds within a day or 2 of exposer (i forget the exact amount of time, but the sooner the better) for an entire month, thus preventing the virus from infecting white blood cells and multiplying. It is like the "morning after pill" of HIV. It works! I was ignorant,i had no idea, i didn`t even think of it, and the rest is history. Stupid me! People with HIV who are on meds and UD (UnDetectable viral load) cannot infect others through sex. This is 99.9% certain. UD = Untranslatable. That is why testing regularly and knowing ones status is so important, and, if one gets infected, starting meds asap is important. The sooner you start your meds once infected, the better. In fact you will have a near NORMAL LIFE EXPECTANCY and can be if you start immediately (some say a LONGER one since the frequent doc visits catch any anomalies early and can be treated, as opposed to people who do not frequently visit docs). The quicker you start, the less long term damage done to your immune system. I was lucky since i showed symptoms and went to get checked. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT SHOW SYMPTOMS WHEN FIRST INFECTED. SO, GET CHECKED REGULARLY!! This will cause controversy i am sure - It is safer to have sex with someone who is HIV Positive and UNDETECTABLE, rather than someone whose status is unknown. Think it through, and if you disagree with me, let me know why. People who are HIV positive and NOT on medication and NOT UD (undetectable) usually are VERY infectious because their Viral Load (VL) is high. When i discovered my infection, it was soon after being infected, when the VL is very high usually, and my VL was around 4MILLION! It took 3 months of meds to get me UD (= less than 40!!). My wife was very lucky because we had sex a few times just days before i was diagnosed and yet she never got infected - we (she) were very lucky! Life goes on after HIV - daily meds is the main burden, but today, the side affects are mild, and things are basically normal - life goes on. I usually disclose to the sex partners i play with out of sheer conscience and morality (and perhaps legality). 99% don`t seem to care. Most LB`s seem to understand the basics or just don`t seem to care. I sometimes wonder how many are poz and/if on meds. Today there is a something called PreP - this is taking HIV meds before infection on a regular daily basis - for people who are high risk. It is a preventative measure and has proved to prevent being infected more than 90% of the cases. It is given for free in some places like the Redcross. I try teaching the LB i meet about this and urge them to start since they are very high risk. In my case, i believe i figured out how i got it - that one incident. However, often i wonder if i got it from oral sex where i gave and did not use a condom (i never used a condom giving or getting). I know the chances are EXTREMELY low and "no documented cases" but maybe that`s because no one knows that is how they got it? Oh well, looking forward and not backwards! So....sorry if i ruined anyone`s good time. I thought it would be important to tell men of the same interest a real life story from just an ordinary normal guy like you, and hopefully it will help someone out one of these days.
BTW, if anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.
Take care guys. I LOVE THIS FORUM!

I've booked a few nights there for my next trip (end of the year only). Looks promising! And I can guarantee the girls from Cindy's don't mind the walk (since many of them didn't mind the walk to Travelodge (opposite Solitaire) either

I checked out the Solitaire. $100.00 AUD for a standard room. $66.00 USD. It is at the end of Soi 11 by the look of it. I guess you would have to ask the girls if they want to trek that far?

On Soi 11, the Solitaire is pretty good. I last stayed there in early 2020 right before Covid struck, and a renovation of the hotel had just been completed. Their beds are gigantic. I don't know what you call that size, but they are noticeably larger than king-size. I had a 3-some there with my girl and Nan from CIB, and we could have easily accommodated a 3rd LB.
Another option is Radisson Suites on Soi 13. The rooms are large and the housekeeping is meticulous. On the roof is a very good, quiet and uncrowded pool along with a full bar.  Relaxation-wise, you just can't beat a quiet hotel pool with a bar and bartender. The Indian restaurant downstairs serves upscale cuisine with a touch of elegance. I like that place.

    Coming on back to BKK
2003-2015-39 trips, as recorded by entry stamps(not counting returning to Bkk side trips to Phnom Penh, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An) 2015-2022 -"0" trips, as dictated by family needs here in USA. 2023(September)-returning to Bangkok as life and COVID have changed. I need hotel advice for a two week stay. My past choices included the Grand President and the Solitaire (Soi 11),  the old Majestic Grande(now Doubletree, on Soi 2), Citrus (Soi 13), as well as some small places on Soi 8(?) and Soi 22, and a series of comp' stays at  Soi13's Trendy condominium.
A comfortable bed for pleasure and pleasures,  fitness /pool/breakfast included, and easy access to new and old mongering venues are all preferred.
Any and all advice, thoughts, and so on would be appreciated.

Tell that to the diabetics of the world. Unsupervised, unprescribed T-shots are crazy
But the are no different than any other intramuscular shot you may take, and very easy to self-administer,

I hope your Doc did better in his health courses than in statistics! Each "flip of the coin" is an independent event. Each flip in a series is 50-50. You can bet the series, but let's say for simplicity sake, three flips...then there are 8 outcomes. (23). No matter the history, each flip is 50-50. A three-sided coin, 1/3 --1/3--1/3 for each flip Three "shots?" 27 outcomes, but each flip is still 1/3 --1/3--1/3.

I ate more than few times at their 23 Sukhumvit  location. A hop,  skip & jump from my usual Sukhumvit haunts.  If I wanted treat & impress colleagues or  friends to a spot, this was it.  One evening, the day before a Royal Family occasion(a birth celebration,  a birhday, something) , a Thai couple/colleagues and I  were seated in the garden while a Family celebration dinner was underway in the major room.  The older princess and two children from the group came over to our table, reducing my guests to a humbleness, then introducing me "Khun Dr. Bob." I didn't kneel but did perform an appropriate deep bow.
Baan Khanita-23  also had a tiny bar upfront that was a welcome, quite respite from the usual haunts.

Imodium effectively paralyzes the intestine. Not a go-to remedy. My doctor guided me back to pepto-bismol brand in USA, but any bismal containing concoction wherever you may be). Standard dosage to start, double in an hour if not okay, and then double again as necessary.   After that, and nothing works you need a doctor. One time in Bangkok.  nothing worked to cure explosive bouts, so to speak. After emptying out, I took a taxi to BNH, emergency. They put me on intravenous fluids and antibiotics, within 30 minutes I was well on path to recovery.
A guiding word. I lost a 38 yo otherwise healthy colleague to diarrhea, he was about 18 hours suffering, drinking lots of water but no food.  He got up at night, drank some more water, then fainted. . He was driven to  a Miami hospital, suffering  a heart attack as  the car got to the hospital entrance. They used standard emergency procedure, shock paddles, air bag, but he died. The autopsy showed severe loss of electrolytes. Basically, his nerves were firing, but he had limited conductivity to the heart muscles. Parents know, rush a child to the hospital if they show 10% weight loss. It's an adult problem too.

See my post above. If my colleague had that stuff. he would have been at lower risk of dying.

Fucking hell. Relax man! Have a massage, a manicure, a facial, haircut, ten tequilas & a blow job. Get a motorbike taxi to race through traffic and film it while laughing like a lunatic. Then go to CIB and organise a threesome. We'll meet you at Foodland for a big brekky at 5am and do it all again. Bangkok baby!

Today I was up at 6am
Got to Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital and was meant to be there for 7am for an 8am appointment. (so the quack told me)
    9am is my appointment
So I go in and to the stress test on the treadmill. All goes well and I pass. Spoke to the Dr there. He said my heart seems fine and my symptoms have less than a 10% chance of being heart related. So looks like its either my chest muscles or poss cholesterol.
I started to think the bill was gonna run into the 10.000's and up but my bill was just under 6k.
So back to the quacks Monday with the results and she what she says.

The heat and humidity in Bangkok this time of year can be overwhelming and causes your blood pressure to drop and your heart to beat faster...
I don't want to worry you but if you had chest pain or a pain that spread out to your arms or if you had any other signs of a heart attack, even 'only' an NSTEMI, you should see a doctor ASAP!
As pointed out by Ropey, a check-up at a private clinic or hospital in Thailand probably won't break the bank and you don't lose too much precious time...

As flipflops notes. this should be done only under a doctor's care, one well enough acquainted with your medical history to access and advise you regarding  the benefits versus the risks.

Most any hospital can do it. No need to go to Bumrungrad or the expensive ones. Be careful with testosterone replacement therapy as I did it for 1.5 years under a doctors care and some of my more recent health problems may well have been related to replacement therapy. My levels were 30% lower than my age range should be and the therapy increased my levels to normal for my age range.

    Hi all,

I thought that it might be my turn contribute towards the forum.

I arranged a short time with a now favourite of mine, however struggled to find a nice short time room which i like, rather than the dirtly broken down room in some places.

I came across hotel 99, which has been around for a while however to my surprise stil in good shape aspecially the condition and the layout of the room.

To get there from the main road, you will see the hotel 99 signs with the arrow, on the roof lining.
From the rear is accessed through the laneway out the back.
I found that there was no problem eitherway.

The room was entrance to the room was one the road level behind the curtance.
Once inside, i found the rooms clean with lots of mirrors and the round bed, with the fun chair being a special touch to the circumstances.
The shower rooms were good and pleasant to use.

I can keep on talking about it however i will let the photos give you a general idear of the place.

Would i use the place again, hell yes, i would reckonmend it, but that is just my thought.
