You should. It is a worthwhile wait.
the other consideration is to try and get their Line contact. It is readily available on their social media posts. I started bugging them for reservations 2 months before I left for Bangkok and they finally gave in.
before this it was usually ordering through Grabfood.

Since you quoted AUD, can only assume you are an uneducated bogan living in a little town in Australia.
If you don't like non-white PEOPLE, perhaps you shouldn't leave your little bubble and just go for a holiday in Coober Pedy next time champ.

    @Rocco Yup, exactly!
Even though it was frickin cold I did laps instead of the gym today. Hopefully things down there get back to normal by tonight.
I was going to take a picture of the gym, but there were always some people in it. Never crowded (only 1 or 2 each time).  Lots of the standard cardio equipment (treadmills, bikes, ellipticals...maybe at least 2 of each); dumbbells and weight equipment and enough space in the middle to do your thing...including a Bollywood dance that I just witnessed.
Overall, this hotel is nice enough and in a good location, but I'm not sure if I would stay here again.  I don't know how much they were asking for their rooms, but based on what they charge for everything else (if you want to buy the breakfast buffet it's 450 baht) it's probably not the best deal.  If I have points again next year, maybe I would stay a few less nights at the Westin.  Great location for CIB!
Oh, and last point...if you watch TV, there are several channels to choose from and a surprising amount in English.  I've only turned the TV on once just in case they were showing NFL football and sure enough they were.

I have seen mixed reviews about the airline. Mind you I have used Cathay Pacific & Ethiad and while I didn't totally "hate" each of those flights I was very underwhelmed with the experiences.
I am not expecting perfection, 5kg carry-on limit, maybe not the best meals and  maybe the screen won't work (so I read)
I can get around these factors, Get snacks to take on at the airport,  take my laptop with movies loaded and kindle and do the neck pillow work around ( take out the stuffing and fill it with things like socks and t-shirts)

Rocco reacted to SAGuy in Free Covid-19 Vaccinations at MBK in May
    Background
I was at Bangkok Hospital earlier this week and the doc was a very chatty fellow, with good English. He asked if I'd had the 'flu jab yet and I advised I had it in SA in March. It seems that they are expecting a much higher prevalence of 'flu this year in the LOS and have imported extra supplies. In the northern hemisphere the 'flu season is the winter, but in the LOS it coincides with the rainy season, which will start in the next few weeks. (He advised always get the 'flu jab between Jan-May each year, as it takes up to 4 weeks to become effective).
The conversation then moved on to Covid-19 and he advised there had been a spike up to 1,000 new cases a day during Songkran and so they are also expecting an increase in the rainy season. He advised if you are 60+, haven't had a jab, or haven't been infected in 6+ months, then you should also get a booster.
I did some Googling and found this article:
    https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40027083
    The Experience
They are also running the same scheme at CentralWorld, but the times are 1500-2100. I decided that MBK would be a better option, as hopefully there would be less people during the day.
MBK is very easy to get to from the 'Combat Zone'. Take the BTS to Siam. Change trains and take the train to National Stadium. Then follow the signs to MBK and there is a direct walkway which takes you onto the 2nd Floor. Take a lift or escalator to the 6th floor, which is spookily deserted. Walk to the far end and you will see the temporary vax centre.
Present you passport. If you are a local or a resident visa holder its free. I was the only farang; but there were quite a few Asian tourists and they have to pay a nominal fee (THB 490? I'm not certain).
You fill out a form, in English (that was impressive) and then walk in. You take a seat and then called to another room and get jabbed. Then on the way out you have to hand in the form and are directed to a "recovery room" for 30 minutes. Don't skip this, as I was tempted to. This is where they print and give you the certificate.
I visited today and it was a 50 minutes process - 20 minutes for the actual execution and 30 minutes for the 'recovery'.
I deliberately chose 10.30 to avoid crowds, and it was not busy.
The vax is intended as a booster and is the Moderna version with the Omicron strain. All of my previous 3 Pfizers were for the previous strain, hence why I went.
I'd recommend doing this if you believe in the vaccination route and the process was well organised and ran smoothly. They are geared up for large volumes, so it was a pleasure today.
They are running this daily until Friday 12 May, 0900-1500 and then for the 2 weekends after the election. If you have a full time job, CentralWorld is doing the same days, but 1500-2100, so that may fit better for you.
    Cheers

I have also used Bangkok Airport Limo in the past. There really isn't much difference in price, but only AOT has kiosks at the airport. BAL has greeters who escort you to the car which works just as well. I use BAL for trips to Hua Hin and Pattaya and they have never let me down.
AOT has several kiosks in the main terminal after you emerge from baggage claim. They used to also have kiosks on the concourses between the gates and immigration, but I don't recall seeing any concourse kiosks on my last trip.
Speaking of BKK airport, let's all celebrate the rebound of tourism in LOS.  It's hard to beat the thrill of going thru immigration

    Didn't see much of it!
Was only inside about 20 mins.
By time the 1st flight landed and did a very long taxi run around the airport it was finally time to leave the plane.
As we came off those of us going onto BKK were rushed to a security check that took about 30 seconds then straight from gate 35 to gate 28.
Then we joined the back of the queue to the already boarding connecting flight.
Cathay Pacific had cut it that fine.

45 minutes should be more than enough in my opinion. I’m guessing crowds are small now, so navigating your way to your gate should be no problem. Hopefully your first flight is either right on time, or if you’re really lucky, early.

Just once I'd like to see a manager reply " fuck off you whinging miserable old cow. This place is fucking great value!"
My pet peeve is the over enthusiastic first time out of the house type "and we had a flat screen tv...and a kettle! Awesome hotel".

I love Cathay and the HK airport. Never had any issues there, but haven’t flown thru there since before Covid, so am guessing any delays are related to that. Perhaps they’re short staffed, like many other carriers?
    good luck
