The review process has ceased since the borders closed. Because the criteria includes things like an on the ground trip report, hotel review etc generally being able to help others based on your reports which can't really happen at the moment. Fingers crossed for March, Thailand is experiencing a wave of infections currently and Thai logic dictates some random OTT policies will be introduced in the coming weeks.

Funnily I actually started there first- my account on there is from 2010 (shit that's 10 years ago).
Much busier than here but the bitching that goes on between a few long-timers that derails every other thread is annoying, plus the general "old man yells at cloud" feel of the place- like ThaiVisa forums if you've ever had the misfortune of visiting. Not that there's anything wrong with the experienced crowd but a few seem to miss the irony of the whole "young people are ruining everything, anyway I wanna fuck this young person"

Ambassador Hotel - beds ingrained with the sweat of a thousand hookers. A real dive behind the facade.

Don't forget the bloody $3000 you gotta fork out to do quarantine on return. Plus they're denying three out of four requests to leave anyway.

Spent one night here on the way back from Prachuap to Bangkok in late September 2019.
Booked a Zen Jacuzzi pool suite for $209aud. The pool was a shallow outdoor pool surrounded by greenery and seemingly unheated with little sun. The bed was the most comfortable on this trip and the dark quasi traditional decor made it instantly comfortable and quite intimate. The bathroom included a large shower cubicle with a decent sized bath. Constant hot water and pressure.
Didn't try the restaurant deciding to eat out at the  night market and stocked up on snacks and beer from the nearby 7-11 (what a surprise!) Missed breakfast by, erm, sleeping in late and found a food place that was quick & cheap.
The hotel has a bar at the back overlooking the sea and was pretty chilled place for a sunset beer as a dj played (at a reasonable volume) Cafe Del Mar-style tunes.

Below comes from Bangkok Post. Visiting the planet Jupiter has fewer requirements than visiting Phuket. Good luck to folks in the Thai tourist industry, because this scheme will surely kill travel for pleasure to Thailand. I can't imagine anybody will jump through all those hoops to visit Phuket for the privilege of being regarded as radioactive and unwanted by both the government and the natives. Not even sex tourists with five alarm fires in their undershorts will sign up for this rodeo.

and i read that after the 2 weeks if you want to go to other parts of thailand you need another test and to stay in phuket area for 1 more week before you can go to another area.
So really 3 weeks in phuket before you can go anywhere else.

Stayed one night in Sept 2019. Drove up late morning (try and get a lb out the door early!) and had an uneventful and pretty easy run. Booked through Agoda for a little over $100aud. Room was a deluxe 32sqm and had everything you need except a view. Our balcony faced a wall so natural light wasn't great. Bathroom was good - plenty of constant hot water & - a rarity on this trip - the bed was not as hard as concrete.
There's a pool but we didn't use it.
We headed out soon after arrival and spent the afternoon wandering the temples. Had dinner at an open air market by the river.
Breakfast was standard fare and ok but nothing special. Did its' job. (Hotel pics from internet ).
Overall a perfectly ok overnight stop. If you need an 'I go for the culture' story for the cynics back home I'd recommend a short side trip to Ayutthaya. The temples etc are worth seeing  - it wasn't crowded - and it's beautifully kept.

Another option is to buy a portable WiFi, buy a data Sim at the airport when you land and have the shop put it into the portable WiFi. Then you keep the phone with your UK Sim, but connect to the portable WiFi which is running from the Thai data Sim. These devices are small enough to fit in a pocket easily and will need charging after about 12-18 hours depending on the model you buy.

You have read wrong mate. There are many other benefits but whether or not they are useful depends on the individual and their circumstances.
If you looking at the cost alone then sure it is expensive but it comes with the convenience of no border runs for at least 5 years if you don’t want to leave. If you do want to leave you can leave and come back anytime as it is multi entry. Can legally open bank account, get post paid accounts on your mobile and internet etc rather than prepaid. Assistance with Thai drivers license.
Free limo to and from airport. They do your 90 day reporting for you. Large discounts at major stores and duty free which is good for big purchases.
This is not an exhaustive list.

I think the ability to travel will be dictated more by governments than what airlines are saying. For instance, Thailand might say ok for Aussies to visit & airlines offer fares. However if Australia is saying we can’t leave then its fruitless.

Mask use is fucking hilarious, I watched a worker at Foodland take hers off to cough all over the vegetables in the produce section, then replace it, several times. Many people wear masks with their noses out, or just have it wrapped around their neck. Some taxi drivers are using masks that look like old oil rags, I had a driver today who was picking his nose and wiping it on the edge of the mask. Mainly farangs aren't wearing masks, I only do to not rile up the locals as a dirty farang spreading the Corona...

Yeah I don't disagree, their mask use is about as good as their helmets- if they're worn at all they're loose or completely unstrapped so they'd fly off in a crash, or using bicycle helmets.
For whatever reasons (heat, prior mask usage, less touchy-feely social interactions, pure luck) Thailand has escaped the huge death tolls faced by other countries so I'm not overly concerned. The face shields and gloves worn by a lot of customer service now is way overkill but whatever keeps them in the illusion of safety.
I'm just glad they haven't put up plastic barriers inside PT like they've done in restaurants. Some of them are literally cling wrap on a couple of makeshift pipe frames, what's the point?

On my mobiles, automatically embedded links fill the page, and load if I try to swipe pass them, so when there's a lot of videos auto-embedded, they all play and crash the browser.
Manually embedded videos are a smaller screen footprint and allow space to swipe without touching the embedded video.
