I don't know about you, but I find street addresses in Thailand confusing...
For example, house number 10 might be located right next to house number 64, which doesn't make any sense to me...
Also, Sukhumvit Soi 22 for example isn't really near Soi 21... And Soi 7 isn't the same as Soi 7/1....
Even taxi drivers who are unfamiliar with a certain area seem to struggle to find the destination quickly. I therefore often print out the location map of a hotel and give it to the driver.
One feature in Google maps that can help you  save time finding a specific place in Bangkok are plus codes.
Plus codes work just like street addresses. You can use a plus code to find or share a place on Google Maps.
Plus codes consist of the short code and the name of the locality (e.g. city). Example:
PHP3+M7 Short Code   Bangkok, Thailand Locality
    Example for Android devices:
    If you enter:
    PHP3+P7 Bangkok
in the search box of Google Maps you'll be directed to an address in Bangkok.
If you're near the address, for example in the same district, you don’t have to include the locality code.
To find the plus code for a place on an Android phone, you open Google Maps and touch and hold a place to drop a pin on Google Maps.
At the bottom, you tap the place of interest to you. Then scroll down to find the plus code, such as PHP3+P7 Bangkok, Thailand.
These plus codes are particularly useful in places with addresses that are not easily located through conventional descriptors like street names or house numbers. That's half of the world's urban population BTW...
Taxi drivers in Bangkok often use Google Maps. If you give them the short code, you might get quicker to your destination...

The green Sukhumvit BTS line has recently been extended up to Kasetsart University (N13). The two stations before Kasetsart, Ratchayothin (N11) and Sena Nikhom colony (N12) are now being served by airport bus no. A1 to Don Mueang airport (DMK, not Bkk!!). The airport bus to the two BTS stations leaves from gates 6 (T1) and 12 (T2).
An improvement over the situation before I think, when you had to take the A1 bus all the way down to Mo Chit BTS...

Just finishing a 7-night stay at the Citrus Suites Soi 6. Overall, my impressions are very positive.
I was upgraded to an executive suite, which is quite spacious. Lots of pictures to follow.
My room was on the backside of the hotel, so virtually no noise from Soi 6. The walks from the hotel to NEP, Chaos 9 and CIB are all short and easily done. Never saw the need for a taxi, and the girls I brought back were fine with the short walk. And speaking of girls, there were no issues bringing the girls up to the room. We'd drop her ID off at the desk and hop on the elevator located directly across from the desk.
The executive suite has two rooms--living room and bedroom--separated by a bathroom. Both the living and bed areas have their own AC units which are controlled with an LED touchpad. There's a door that can be closed between the living and bedroom areas.
The living area has a decent LED TV, a medium-sized refrigerator, and lots of seating and lighting options. I made good use of the chairs in front of the one large mirror with a couple of the girls.
The bathroom has both a shower and a tub. I had no issues with water flow or temperature with the shower. The amenities provided (shampoo/conditioner, bath gel, etc.) are basic, but I bring my own, so not a demerit as far as I'm concerned.
The generously large bed was very comfortable, and I'm picky about beds. There was a second smaller LED TV in the bedroom. Again, lots of lighting options for setting the mood. Additionally, there is a desk and chair, and lots of plugs and a dedicated USB port for all the devices we bring. I often run short of plugs for my e-goodies, but not here.
The view from my room (8th floor) was uninspiring, but not something I care about. I use the room for sleeping and fucking, and I'm out and about the rest of the time.
The pool area on the 10th floor is small, but had the advantage of being barely used by others. There were umbrellas and lounge chairs and towels. One night my guest and I went up and jumped into the jacuzzi, having the place to ourselves.
The hotel staff seemed attentive. I didn't place many demands on them, but all my requests were immediately respond to. I tipped the housekeeping staff daily and asked for extra towel...no problem. They left me 6 towels every day.
I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast buffet. After having stayed at the Majestic Grande for the past 10 years, this buffet seemed fairly basic. They do have a chef making eggs to order, but the rest of the buffet is run of the mill. By my last two mornings I was heading out to have breakfast elsewhere (expensive, but the JW Marriott has a great buffet).
I would happily return to this hotel. For my purposes, the location can't be beat. It's a short walk to my favorite LB shopping locations, and a quick walk to the Nana BTS station. There are some fabulous restaurants in the basement and on the 6th floor of Central Embassy, which is just a 10-15 minute walk away (if you like serious Neapolitan-style pizza, Peppina is the real deal, with 4 locations in BKK).

The main advantage of this hotel is its location close to NEP. Breakfast is good, even very good IMHO. I booked on the hotel's own website (special offers tab) and paid around 2100 Baht on average for a week (w-ends are more expensive) during low season.
I brought back a girl to my room at 2:00 am. No problem at all as the front desk person was walking around the restaurant area and didn't notice us until we were already in the elevator . So no ID check in this instance. Brought her in the morning to the restaurant, but had to pay I think 200 Baht extra for breakfast despite having booked for 2 guests including free brekkie. Other guests looked a bit bewildered at us and she obviously didn't feel too comfortable and wanted to leave soon afterwards.
    Never mind.
In the rooms facing Soi 6, the morning traffic can be clearly heard, particularly in the lower floor rooms. The pool area is depressing. Difficult to get a metered taxi on Soi 6. Shower temperature issues and water was coming out of the shower stall and onto the bathroom floor.
Overall an okay option but certainly far from perfect. Looking for a better option with a nicer pool area within 15 minutes on foot from NEP for under 2500 Baht during high season. Any advice?
    Thanks! Thanks :-)

I also went to the neighboring Citrus Suites hotel for breakfast because I prefer buffet spreads over "a-la-carte" as I like sampling different items. Also, buffets usually are less expensive than eating a-la-carte from the menu, particularly when you want your brekkie to be a substitute for your lunch.
The neighboring Citrus Suites hotel offers its above average breakfast buffet, as you've correctly stated already, for 250 Baht to non-hotel guests which is a steal IMO.
They have a good variety there, from cold cuts, fruits, pastry, grilled tomatoes to excellent hot and spicy Asian items. They also have an egg station. The beverages you get are from coffee and juice machines. As long as they have enough space for their own hotel guests, you should be able to get a table if you're staying at the Dynasty Grande or at the Phachara Suites.
Official closing time is 10:30 am by the way.

G10 is guest friendly. The rooms are ok- the last remodelling was five years ago and it shows in places. The pool is a large bathtub but the roof area is cool and the bar does some good 2 for 1 deals. The breakfast is ok. For the price and location it's good value.Parking a car in the underground carpark is an experience. In two visits (2013 & 2016) I never saw the golf buggy work but it's a reasonable walk to Suk (if you can make it past CIRB!)

Le Fenix Sukhumvit is a fun little hotel in Bangkok

I have only stayed here the once back in February 2009 and I liked the hotel a lot, though I should think about using it again

I always recommend to those who love clubs and bars.So it's a convenient hotel with no joiner fees if you choose to take a bar girl or freelancer back to your room. The reception is on the first floor and their is a lift in the car park that takes you straight up using your key card. Or if you wish you can go via reception

The place is designed in line with club and party minded guests. There is a decent roof top bar on the top floor called the Nest and even though the building is 8 stories tall you still get a decent view of the surrounding area. I went a each night but on the last night gave it a miss, As I swear that's were the mozzies bit me all down my arms, while lying sipping cocktails on one of the beds.

There's a small swimming pool and gym. A free tuk tuk ride to the BTS Nana station which is right in front of Sukhumvit Soi 11. Though the biggest perks is you get free entrance to Q Bar and Bed Supperclub (only during non-special events). Normally you'd have to pay 500THB to 700THB entry free just to get in to both clubs. And you also get 20% off for food at Bed Supperclub so it pays to be a hotel guest at Le Fenix.

The hotel is located a little ways down on Suk Soi 11. About 300 meters and right across from Q Bar. So it's easy to find.

Though if you find the walk a little bit too far, the hotel does provide tuk tuk service to take you to the entrance of Sukhumvit road. And right in front is the BTS Nana station.
And the location is an ideal point for visiting Soi Cowboy or Nana go go bars. Because it's right in between the two red light districts. So you can walk to either one in about 10 minutes.

As I mentioned earlier you book a standard or superior room for about 1400THB through Agoda.com. It's not a bad price at all for a 3 star hotel in the middle of everything a single guy could need.

And it's a guest friendly hotel right on Sukhumvit so no problems with inviting bar girls or freelancers to a room there. Here's the email confirmation below for your reference:.

The only annoying problem I had was the light in the wardrobe would not go out when you shut the doors. most honest hotel I have stayed. I forgot to shut the safe door one morning and when I arrived back at the hotel, Their was a note saying to go to reception. They went up to the room opened the safe, as the cleaning staff told them it was open so they set it back to reset. I checked and everything was in order. Big tip for cleaning staff when I left as well as recption.

Just get a cheapo room at Heaven @ 4 or some such place that charges 700 - 1000 baht per night. There are many such hotels around lower Sukhumvit. There is also a modestly priced hotel across the alley from CIB on Soi 10, some BMs stay there on occasion.

For anyone contemplating Red Planet my impression is that it is not overly guest friendly ... I didn't see a single instance of a working girl being brought in to the hotel.

On top of that their internet blocks all sorts of sites (including this forum) as being porn, which is why my trip report is a few days late.

The location in Soi 14 is great though as it is almost exactly half way between CIRB and Why Not. Directly opposite Asoke station but far enough away from the main road that it is super quiet ... even the construction near by could not be heard once in the room.

There is no restaurant in the hotel though so you have to venture outside for breakfast every day ... unfortunately not knowing BKK very well I ended up at Starbucks most mornings.

Not having access to this forum was a pain though so will probably not stay there again.

I stayed here for a night a few weeks ago with a LB friend who lives in the area. I took the Pool suite room which is 2500 overnight. They also rent the rooms by 3 hour blocks. You have to book a room through their website or just turn up and take what's available. They dont operate through Agoda, Expedia etc

    Pros -
    - very discreet
    - Decent entertainment system and large tele with porn and ability to connect to your phone/laptop
    - Huge spa bath
    - Private Pool
    - English speaking staff
    - thai room service food is fantastic
    - large comfortable bed

    Cons -
    - mosquitos, many. They do provide repellent and a bat to swat them.
    - not so clean, I cleaned the spa before using it and the shower was full of soap scum.
    - remote location, it's not really close to anything farang oriented, there's other bars and alike in the area but mainly Thai focused.
    - difficult for the taxi to find

This place is great if you want to party with privacy as a couple or a group, I would stay here again for group sessions, but wouldn't treat it as a base to explore Bangkok.

As milhouse said, you can forgo the taxi queue (and airport taxi surcharge) easily by going up to the departure level and grabbing a taxi just after his passenger has got out and he's put his red light on again.
