Soi 11 is a great location to stay.Right between Soi 7 and Soi 4,and near to the BTS station.
Also, if you want a shortcut to Soi 13 you just go through the carpark at the Ambassador Hotel and it takes you to Soi 13.
(Some excellent Indian Restaurants on Soi13,and cheap laundry services!)

Fair question, and gets asked a lot.
How far will I have to walk back at the end of the night?
I always recommend to watch this Youtuber's vids. on the Sukhumvit sois . You can see the real distance you'll have to walk from Sukhumvit to your hotel in real life.

I will also be in BKK in July and staying again on soi 11. Mercure I have heard mostly good things about. I like soi 11 because it keeps me within a short train ride to Why nots and a short walk to Check in Bar. Now that Cindy's is on a small soi off of soi 11 I'm even more excited to stay on soi 11. @katana57 videos on soi's should help you make your final decision if you haven't already.

I am not an engineer but from what I understood the problem was and is the engine. To get that speed they needed it to be embedded in the wings and all these big fans they use now would be of no use in a supersonic speed.

Yeah, I have to agree. Most of the guys I know have gone with AXA as it gets them through the Thai Pass/immigration/checks process quickly with no problems.

Wow! Excited for this! From what I heard, Boom expects to launch its supersonic passenger planes in 2025, with commercial flights beginning in 2029. Once operational, Overture is projected to be the first big commercial aircraft to be carbon-neutral from the start, having been designed to fly on 100 percent sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Yes but supposedly they can't fill A380's so they can't make money on those but they do off smaller planes with longer ranges.
Similarly the supersonic planes will get smaller and more economical. If they prices and service are like business class of today with the speed, I could see it succeeding.

katana57 reacted to elfy72 in Flight Credit. Anybody got a refund?
I got a voucher from KLM back in March 2020, I used it earlier this year to book an October trip which I then cancelled and they refunded the money this time, had the cash back in my account within about 5 days.

Well my experience was very positive because I booked direct with Emirates last year paid £430 for a June return flight had options to get money back or re book within 2 years of my original booking. I decided to hold out so I called them early this month because I wanted to fly this month to find out how much the flight would be because have been following prices and the dates I wanted were around £1200 so was expecting to pay extra but I did not have to pay another penny !!!! So all I can say is I am more than happy with Emirates and will be my airline of choice in the future

I asked Ethiad a while back if I could just have my money back but they said no.
I then went to my credit card company but they said they could not do anything as I had left it too long.
So I got "credit" with Ethiad which is a bit meh as I don't like the 2 stops they are doing it seems all the way into April.
I did a few dates on their website and it's 2 stops till after Songkran.

I'm just guessing that tossing dice in the weightlessness of space would add to the house edge casinos already have at the craps tables.

personally the best thing would be to have a satellite hotel/casino in orbit so once your up there and come down its less than 24 hrs to any where in the world . imagine sat/ladyboy full of bars no alcohol tax or boys in brown .

All I know is if they fly it out of LAX, it's guaranteed to arrive late at its destination even if it flies at the speed of light.

And I have done just that.
Called them Tuesday and told them the details. I asked if this would be goods not received and was told yes.
I have to wait up to 45 days but I got time to wait 555

katana57 reacted to Knobby in Air Travel during the New Normal
From one point of view, I wonder what will happen to Heathrow?
Before all this shit the talk was of another runway and more.... everything there. The angle was the country needs this for business and jobs blah blah blah.
Fuck the environment that we are constantly told about.
Now overnight all this has fallen to shit. Air travel most of us can only dream of and not a word about Heathrow. I suppose at some point it will all start again? (the extra runway)
So the airline industry and most things around it stopped overnight. Those once good-paying rather safe jobs working at Heathrow, and there were many either gone or won't be the same.
That is unless something gets sorted out with the fake(I still think most of this is fake) virus situation.
At the moment if I have to do several things just to board a plane that I didn't have to do I don't fancy it.
