Pies2U between Sukhumvit Sois 28 and 30

We need a regular @SAGuy food column! I expect that place will be popular with the older ex-pats. But you next challenge is to take a date there and documenting her reaction. That could be very entertaining  ..."I don't like!!" :D

As an American I am not well versed on this topic, but I surely intend to give it a try! When I was in Australia for business, I always loved going to watch footy and enjoy a meat pie or two during the matches.

That looks like a quality feed!

I had an awesome Aussie Meat Pie at The Lost Aussie Pub on Soi 6 (right next to the short cut from Soi 8). Homemade, served with gravy but as an Aussie I smothered it in tomato sauce. You can get it as a meal with mash and peas or beans.

Pie and chips with dead horse! Noice!

A classic example of what Britain and the USA have brought to the culinary table....no wonder that Europe laughs at our cuisine!

Still, I'd take it over Cordon bleu or Weiner Schnitzel any day of the week!

Before ordering I made sure that they had all of the essential condiments: HP sauce, malt vinegar, English mustard. I'll leave the Ketchup for the heathens.

The holy trinity.

Speaking of French chefs or French food, there is a very good French Cafe on Soi 11 - Chez LN, directly opposite the Aloft Hotel. I stayed at the Aloft and went across a few times to Chez LN French Cafe.

Excellent Quiche Lorraine (who said real men don't eat quiche) and the Croque Monsieur was pretty good despite being dripping in butter. I do like a good ham and cheese toasty. The coffee was exellent too.

That was also my first experience, sometime back around 2003!
