Rodrigo 1,051 #1 Posted December 6, 2010 Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels please and if so how were they? thank you
Rodrigo 1,051 #2 Posted December 7, 2010 Thanks mate. I am thinking of staying there because it is in Sukhumvit and dont think will be able to go to NEP this next trip so do not care if it is close to there or not. Just need a good large room and clean and safe of course.
mardhi 1,689 #3 Posted December 8, 2010 I have stayed at the Citadines in Soi 8 and 16 - both studios were identical and spacious but not huge. Very well equiped incl kitchen with microwave, electric hob, cooking stuff, plates etc. IMHO a great place to stay - the one in Soi 16 is 50m from a Foodland supermarket that is open 24 hours day - the one in SOi 8 is not as well located its very far down the soi and there is nothing around it apart from condo's and a French restaurant. So for me, Soi 16 is the better location - couple mins walk to the BTS/ungerground station at Asok. Also I have stayed in the one bedroom apartments and I think they are a relative waste of money - the lounge area is like a corridor and bedroom is tiny. For the difference in price, the studio is much better value for money and feels more spacious.
Rodrigo 1,051 #4 Posted December 8, 2010 Thanks Mardi, I was looking to stay at the one in Soi 11. I was told that currently a lot of construction going on near the Soi 8 one.
ezflip 8 #5 Posted December 29, 2010 I have stayed at the Citadine 8 twice before and enjoyed it. As mardhi said, the location is a bit far off the beaten track and that is what I liked about it. Don't bother with the 1 bedroom apartment. Waste of money as you do not get all that much extra room. Been thinking of booking the soi 11 as well but the 8 always turn out to be cheaper. 1 OneTrueSaxon reacted to this
Breaker 2 #6 Posted May 15, 2011 as for Citidines Soi 8 Agree with other guys, good place to stay, kitchen is nice addition, good price, guest friendly. pretty small loom and off the beaten track. I would stay there again though. there is a back lane that gets you to GB faster than suk road, you will do some walking. there is a free tuk tuk, to take to suk road but not worth the wait usually, sometimes lucky rated 7.5/10 especially for the price Breaker
Pajtas 27 #7 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) I stayed in CITADINES soi 11 last august. The hotel is located in the heart of night life close to the all bars and night clubs. The room was clean, spacious, with small kitchenette, workig desk and sofa. The bedroom was separate with movable partition. LCD TV in the bedroom. The window is situated to the small soi and there´s no noise from the street so I could sleep very well. Wardrobe contained ironing board which makes me happy, coz last times I could find someone who could iron my shirts Staff was lovely and helpful. I took 2 guest 2 times via undergroung parking directly to the room /both of them had a car/ On the top floor is small gym and nice swimming pool with view to the ALOFT hotel /LEVELS club/, which is located oposite and President palace on the left side..... Next to the reception is a MULLIGAN´S pub. I recommend this place...... Pajtas 27 #9 Posted January 19, 2014 I´ve never stay in Majestic......So I can not compare these two hotels. Next time Im planning to try anothers hotels......Citadiens cost round 43 euros / no breakfast/ via agoda.....
adalbert72 71 #10 Posted April 1, 2014 I've stayed in Citadines on Soi 8 and 23. Both studios are identical, friendly staff, not bad breakfast. Both are guest friendly. I prefer Citadines 23 because of short walk to MRT/BTS and Soi Cowboy. Sure, it's quite far from Nana area but night walk allows to take a look at all stars shining on Sukhumvit
OneTrueSaxon 6,249 #11 Posted April 2, 2014 Stayed for a couple of days in the soi 11 hotel and found it to ok. May have been better if I was staying longer. As it as all the cooking facilities and I always eat out. Nice view from the pool though.

There is a short cut to NEP via soi 6Thanks man appreciated. Quiet and discreet is how i like it and citadines seems that way. Rooms look nice too with full kitchen couch etc. Perfect for a long stay. Distance seems to be the only concern, but i always stay on soi2 (solo & aspen) so I dont mind a trek up to the main road. Do you have any other info about hotel / area? Assuming it's guest friendly but multiples are free? SAGuy 6,767 #20 Posted January 14, 2019 Citadines Soi 11 was the 3rd hotel that I stayed in on my visits to BKK and I stayed there approx. 8 times between 2015-2017. Pros - its typically priced below THB 3,000 per night and the bard downstairs is pretty good. Its also on Soi 11, so right in the heart of the mainstream nightlife. Its LB friendly and the walk of shame is short. The downside is that the rooms needed refurbing and unless you stayed on a higher floor in one of the back facing rooms, it is very loud at night, with all the music from the clubs across the street. I often compared the prices between booking.com, agoda and the citadines own website and 90% of the time, the best deals were to be had from booking directly with them. The rooms are apartment style and theres 3 grades. The standard room is about 40 m2 and is large enough for daytime work and night time frolics. Theres a small kitchen, fridge etc. There are also washing machines on the top floor next to the gym. I eventually gave up on Citadines Soi 11 due to the noise, as my stays in BKK also involve work, so I did have to hit the hay at a reasonable time during the week. The only other downside was that it is quite a walk along an often crowded street to get to Sukhumvit and the fleshpots. I hope this helps. SAG
SAGuy 6,767 #21 Posted January 14, 2019 My fourth and final hotel choice in BKK is Citadines soi 8. The rooms are identical to Citadines soi 11 and at first glance, the hotel seems to be too far down soi 8. However, they run a 24 hour tuk tuk and so it only takes 5 minutes to get to Sukhumvit and you can call it from Sukhumvit when you want to return. Its a bit smaller than the soi 11 property, but is in better condition and is MUCH quieter. Its also LB friendly and the walk of shame is even shorter! All Citadines have card access elevators, but the elevator on the right can be used without an access card, for some reason. Cheers SAG
Boomerang 2,250 #22 Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) I used to stay @ the citidines on So 23 . Always found it pretty good & no hassles bringing gurls back . Its a bit of a way up the Soi , but has the Cowboy at the end for handy entertainment . Overall i rate it as just a fal safe/fall back type accom . For some reason I never consider any hotels above soi 19, but as you say, its a good back-up plan. The great thing about the Citadines chain is that you know what to expect, as each room tends to be copy/paste from the other properties. I've tried locations in of Citadines on lower numbers but 23 is my favorite. Very convenient location: MRT/Skytrain, friendly staff. There is only one bad thing: after renovation of kitchen/restaurant few years ago, the breakfasts are shitty. 1 Boomerang reacted to this
Ted135792468 53 #25 Posted May 10, 2019 I just finished up a stay at Citadines 11. Here are a few of my observations:Book through their website. Expedia wanted 4000 Baht a night for my one bedroom condo unit. I booked it through their painfully slow website for 2350 Baht per night after taxes. There are lesser rooms, but I was only in town for two nights, so the extra 350 Baht per night upgrade was not a big deal. The one bedroom unit of mine was spacious, clean and well maintained. It had a functional kitchen and a split bathroom. The only complaint that I listed with them was the toilet room. It had the porcelain throne and a small sink. But the throne was damn near against the wall/sliding wood door. You can see a huge void in the corner where the old shower used to be. But they never relocated the throne to the center of the wall to make more room for the user. It is fine if you are 50 kgs, but I am double that. So I had to sit at a slight angle when having deep thoughts. Across the hall was the large basin with mirror and a full size tub/shower.I had a corner unit on the seventh floor. I could hear the night clubs nearby and there were complimentary ear plugs on the safe. But as a monger, bedtime was 3am to 4am, so it was not an issue.A breakfast buffet is included in the price and it was decent by western standards. The restaurant is open 24/7. It is packed at 4am with mostly Westerners. The living room and the master bedroom each had a 42" flat panel TV. Most places only give you one.You can send your laundry out for ungodly prices, carry it over to the 24hour laundry shop across the street (down an alley, look for the signs) that is priced by the kilo, or go up to the 9th floor. The gym and pool are up here. It costs 90 Baht for one token. It takes 2 tokens to do a load. 1 for washer, 1 for the dryer. They are full size units. The laundry soap & fabric softener is included when you buy the tokens from the front desk. This place is within walking distance of Check in Bar, Nana Plaza, Terminal 21 mall and splits two of the BTS stops. There is a ton of street action on Soi 11 and on the strip down towards the Westin Hotel. The Westin sidewalk was overflowing with LB talent. The hotel is LB friendly. I had Beam come over on her day off and stay overnight without any issues. My cab ride to the airport using Grab at 11am was 400 Baht plus 78 Baht in tolls. You can take the BTS to the airport line for cheap, but I had a full size suitcase, a full size gym bag, a fully loaded computer backpack and my CPAP bag. I was not in the mood to haul all that down 7 blocks in 93°F heat just to save 400 Baht. I was brought up by hired car from Pattaya, so I do not know what that cost would be from the airport. Depending on how long I plan on staying im Bangkok next year, I will plan on booking here again.Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk 5 1 1 Ropey, carbonara69, ARI23 and 4 others reacted to this
