  1. Have fun. When visit ChiangMai don't forget to taste local sausages (a real one, not those attached to girls )

    S Box, Sukhumvit 31

I've stayed in this hotel 3 nights in September. Cheap, clean, good location. Simple breakfast included. Although the hotel is guest friendly, most of customers are Thai people on business trip or young Asian couples (I noticed several Korean couples). IMHO great option for someone on tight budget. Pros: big bed and glass wall between a room and bathroom so ot's a nice view of a girl taking shower. Con: I didn't noticed any. cheers t.72
  3. I have friend who was married to Thai lady and was living quite a long time in Thailand. He said a real massaman curry has to be cooked for few days and there is no way you will get it in a restaurant/food stall.

    Citadines soi 8 & 11 (updated 2014)

I totally agree with that. I've tried locations in of Citadines on lower numbers but 23 is my favorite. Very convenient location: MRT/Skytrain, friendly staff. There is only one bad thing: after renovation of kitchen/restaurant few years ago, the breakfasts are shitty.
  5. Try Citadines. They have 4 locations between Soi 4 and Soi 23. Big room, big bed, studio-type rooms. Never had any problems with guests. Prices are acceptable - if you book in advice you can have a nice room for c.a. 1300-1500 bath/night.

    Citadines Soi 23 Bangkok

I didn't find any review of that hotel thus there is some information, based on my experience: very nice place to stay, girl and gurl friendly, helpful staff, not bad breakfast. IMHO good price (around 1500 B) for good standard. The location is perfect, around 100m from Soi Cowboy, MRT and BTS. One MRT stop from Citylink. To don't make the review too sweet: last December I didn't get any info about hotle's restaurant rebuilding so I was quite surprise in the morning when I wanted to have a breakfast. They offered a breakfast boxes if someone booked a meal earlier. Another con is: I always book a breakfast when booking on-line but the info never appear in the system. t.72
  7. Any kind of Thai food in a restaurant for farangs. Gee...it doesn't taste like Thai food at all.
  8. During my last trip to LOS I discovered nice place for eating lunch (nice = good food, not a high-end restaurant). A small restaurant located at Soi 23, between Soi Cowboy and Sukhumvit, on the right-hand side. Many office workers go there for a lunch. Good, real thai food at reasonable price. If I good remember a green curry with rice cost 40B.
  9. Chiang-mai sausage. I know it's bit fare from BKK but still the best food I had in Thailand. Bought it in small village outside the city

    Citadines soi 8 & 11 (updated 2014)

I've stayed in Citadines on Soi 8 and 23. Both studios are identical, friendly staff, not bad breakfast. Both are guest friendly. I prefer Citadines 23 because of short walk to MRT/BTS and Soi Cowboy. Sure, it's quite far from Nana area but night walk allows to take a look at all stars shining on Sukhumvit
