I had this problem yesterday, but it righted itself. I think it's a server problem because same issue on sister site. We have had it this issue in the past.

I just tried a test photo but it didn't work..

I met BM from another forum who lives in Pattaya but had travelled up to BKK for the weekend. He told me about this place where he was staying. He had good things to say about it. Naturally it was ladyboy friendly. He actually got a Suite for the price of the deluxe room on some special. The deluxe is around 60 USD on Agoda. The suites are around $90 USD a night. Looks pretty nice. It's located on Soi 4 tucked back by Boss Suites.

The site has a better deal with the Deluxe (36 sq m) room is 1,534 before taxes and the Suites (44 sq m) starting at 2,900 before taxes.

    Has anyone stayed there?

Great review Jeimii, thanks so much for taking the time to take photos and write this one up.

I know Jimbo of C&D's stays there when he comes to BKK and has always spoke highly of it.

I also wanted to post this link of the thread you started asking about their safes as it may include some more info.

Seems to be their calling card no matter where they stay. If they have kids with them you can bet they will be running the halls at any given hour. I was at Aspen Suites and this small girl was in the hall and got on elevator with me and then got off at the floor below. I remember thinking how easy it would be for some creep to abduct her. You just don't see Western kids on the loose like this, but you do hear stories of them going missing.

Just a few pics from my room at Phachara Suites:

This place is ladyboy/guest friendly (although I never took a ggirl to the room).

It is only a short walk from NEP, CIB, Guess and all the action on Soi4. Plus Darkside is just a short ride on BTS Nana. At the end of soi6 there is a white foot bridge that basically lands you right near CIB. There is a pool and a gym too. Opposite the hotel are 3 atms and a 7/11.

I took two ladyboys to the pool with a bottle of wine and it was no problem.

The room had an ironing board, iron, washing machine (with powder), balcony with table (for any lb smokers), and some maidens to dry clothes on on the balcony. For me this was very useful as although I just normally used the laundry service, it meant I could wash and dry everything the day before I checked out.

There is a decent sized safe that fitted my laptop. Whenever I bought a ladyboy back they always did the system of confiscation of guest ID and then call you to check everything is ok before they leave.

If you turn into Cheap Charlies off Soi 11 there are a group of restaraunts. Aprilbr, and a tranny we met went there before heading to Darkside one night. It's pretty good mexican fare. Not as good as you can get in the Southwest US, or Mexico, but much better than we can get in Australia. I got the tacos which were better than Taco Sunrises in my opinion. The service was good and the decor was better than Taco Sunrise. Anita the tranny thought it was better than she expected. She is from the States (Texas) so she is used to great Tex Mex fare. Sorry I didn't get more photos.

I'm going to re-title this thread and update with some more currewnt information. As our hotel expert OTS mention the hotel used to be the Monaco but is now i Check Inn Ploenchit, Soi 2.

I'm staying here currently and have to say the deluxe rooms are bigger and a bit nicer than the i Check Inn on Soi 7/1. the only negative so farhas been my internet connection which seems to be okay today. I got the upgrade by booking online and indicating that I was return customer although I never stayed at this i Check Inn property.

I was staying at Aspen Suites prior to this which is just a couple doors down, Like the suites this place has a big ass refridgerator, microwave, and tea kettle. Except no tea bags or coffee??? A bit strange. The Nana property has a coffee, tea, and hot chocalte machine in the lobby and this property doesn't. They do have breakfast available which I think is 175 baht. They also have a lounge called the Chill out, which I haven't been to either.

I booked an extra day at the desk and got the same rate I got online, which was 1,299 baht after taxes. They have a Tuk tuk that takes you to the end of Soi 2 near Sukhumvit and Ploenchit station. There tuk tuk runs later than Aspen suites I've noticed.

Located just after Aspen Suites and Solo hotel on Soi 2.

A view from one of three windows in my corner room. Gives you an idea how far down Soi 2 it is.

Just down from i Check Inn is an access path at Lohas Suites that goes from Soi 2 to Soi 4 which is quite handy to get to nearest 7/11 and laundy places instead of walking all the way down to Rajah parking lot cut through.

I'm staying at i Check Inn which as you mention was the Monaco. I have to say that I like the rooms better than the Nana location on Soi 7/1

Just some updates on P21 as I'm staying here now. This time I came alone and when I checked in they asked me if I was alone. I told them at that point I will have a friend joining me in the evening. So when I came home that evening with a ladyboy they took her ID at the desk. Then about 10 minutes after we were in the room the called up telling me it was hotel policy to charge 400 for extra person. I told them I had someone joining me when I checked in and make my reservation for 2 people. They backed right down and apologized but be prepared to pay a joiner fee with them. I think they just try to get it when they can.

The rooms are light in color which makes for good photography. They also have some good areas to stage some shots with plenty of desk top space and an alcocove.

Just to clarify earlier posts. They do not have a lift. The area that looks like where an lift might have gone is actually restrooms on the first floor near the stairs. I advise to book your room on second floor.

I recently stayed at Aspen Suites on Soi 2 using Qantas air points booking through Qantas Hotels. I stayed for one week and found it good for the long stay with the kitchenette and the big refrigerator. I didn't cook anything really except for using the microwave to reheat some things. My friend Steve was staying there for a month and was cooking regularly. I also saw the a BM here when I checked in on the first day. They didn't have a room ready at the early arrival from a flight from Europe. I didn't anticipate that with room sales quite down in BKK. They tried to sell me an upgrade for 700 baht a day but I decided to wait it out.

The rooms had plenty of space and closet storage with a safe inside. Bathroom was not cramped. On some days I had to ask to have my room cleaned, but they would clean it late afternoon which accommodated my LT guests. The restaurant was reasonable and had specials for Thai and western dishes. Breakfast wasn't included so I didn't try to get up for that.

They have a Tuk tuk to take you down near Sukhumvit on Soi 2. The drivers always asked where I was going like they were going to take me there, but they only take you to the turn around point. So I eventually started answering them the same place your going.

The pool was quite narrow and located on the ground floor just outside the restaraunt, which wouldn't give much privacy and would make it difficult to get a LB in for a dip I would imagine.

To cut over to Soi 4 you can cut through the rajah parking lot near Guess Bar or you can walk past Aspen Suites to Lohas Suites which has a cut through to Soi 4 which takes you out near Dawin Hotel and the closest 7/11's

Stayed there for a few nights last week. I agree with the positive comments made here earlier and will stay there again. Only negative was that they didn't change my towels when cleaning the room but when I pointed that out in the reception someone came to my room with fresh towels after two minutes so not a big problem.

I kind of liked that I can sit in the bed and watch my date get ready for some action.

Anyone new to Bangkok looking for a good pie that doesn't want the usual cardboard with sauce they serve at Pizza Hut or Pizza Company try the following places, all of them offer very good pies for not too much money:

    1. Bella Napoli - Soi 31. Thin crust brick oven style. Variety of toppings, only downside is they have only one size and it's fairly large (prices are around 200-500 baht depending on toppings). Also have some decent pasta options served in a clay bowl with pizza dough on top and a very good wine list.

    2. Scoozi - This is a local chain that has been around for a number of years. They have around 20 locations around Bangkok (several in and around Sukhumvit). Extensive toppings and a very good crust. (Prices start at 100 for what they call Pizza Bread (basically cooked dough) to 600 for their super pizzas). They also deliver throughout Bangkok and have online ordering.

    3. Pala Pizza - Under Asoke BTS, next to Terminal 21. This is perhaps my favorite pizza place in all of Bangkok. They claim to use only ingredients imported from Italy. They cook their pizza in meter long slabs and also have numerous toppings and options. Some of their pizza's they do sell by the slice (around 60-100 baht). A whole meter pizza can be on the expensive side (some as much as 1500 baht) but it is well worth it. They also have an excellent deli counter inside featuring all sorts of Italian meats, cheeses and condiments.

These are 3 of my favorites, if you have one not listed please add it!

We all share a common number one reason for going to Thailand, but the delectable LB delicacies aside, I find Thai to be among the most delicious cuisine in the world. It is up there among my strongest excuses for going to Thailand and remaining in Bangkok. However, it is a legitimate reason, and I am wondering what the favorite Thai dishes are of the BMs, and where they like to eat, particularly around Sukhumvit and Nana.

    Daytime?

    Late night?

Street food is often the cheapest and the the best. In my time around Sukhumvit, I have found the food arcade that sets up around Soi 1 offers a variety of decent food at good prices. I am sure there are better spots, let's hear about them!

Not sure what these raamen-like soups were, but they were awesome.

    My favorite Thai dishes:

    1. Pad See-Ew (phat si io)

    2. Khao Pad Goong... or any Khao Pad

    3. Curries

    4. Tom Yum

    5. Lad na

    6. Who doesn't enjoy a good Pad Thai?

    7. Should I try papaya salad?

The nice thing about meeting gurls is that they are hungry esp after boom boom! and they usually know good places to go to replenish their energy! On my last trip, I hooked up with a LB from Isaan and we went to eat at a place she liked, with good Isaan food.

Does anyone remember Ploy from the old GB? Aside from eating each other's goodies, we ate out a couple times at a spot she liked off the beaten path... I want to say it was up around the soi 20's or 30's but a ways off of Sukhumvit definitely on the even number side...

Don't remember what the food was she liked, but it was spicy!

Another plus about i Check Inn is bringing a second guest is no issue with them. They simply take both ID's. I don't do 3-some to often but it's nice to know there is no hassle bringing back two. I'm sure Randyandy put that to test a few times.

Stayed here recently. The initial review and follow ups pretty much cover it all but I though I'd share some thoughts. I'd stayed at the soi 11 property before so i knew what to expect room wise. Very similar (bathrooms different) but this property is in better condition as you'd expect being newer. Wasn't expecting to have issues with noise as per previous reviews but I was surprised at just how quiet it was given it's location. I stayed in Deluxe room 40 something (1280 b / night) and looked down on DrBJ which made for some interesting people watching.

Friendly staff, secure ID taking process which might be too much hassle for some but I like it. They call when your squeeze leaves but I'd unplugged my phone to stop the bright LED flashing at night so reception came up and checked everything was OK in person...nice touch. Friendly staff, good wifi, DVD player and flat screen TV. One bad point was the useless light above the vanity for shaving...but that's something I've found in probably 80% of places I've stayed in Thailand.

Location location. What a self contained little soi 7/1 is, best money exchange, straight and shonky massage, straight and shonky bars, plenty of food options, Bangkok beat and metres from the BTS. If it had a 7/11 you'd never need to leave it. Until you'd been through the selection next door of course !
