  1. http://www.bangkokguestfriendlyhotels.com/ The site touts itself as "The difinitive source on no joiner fee hotels" It very informative and has photo's of the hotels and soem even have youtube video's. Also a conveinent map so you can see how far you are from the p4play areas. Its broken down into several catagories Nana, Patpong, Soi Cowboy, luxury, budget etc.. It looks to be very reliable as all the LB friendly hotels I read about on forums are listed here. A great resource in my estimation. Hopefully this will help a lot of forum members out as I have seen several threads on LB friendly hotels in this section and Chit Chat section. I have attached a sample of one of the maps they include. This one in Nana section.
  2. This is one that I didn't learn until i left BKK the first trip and saw several taxis dropping off people at departures. Would like to recommend to everyone arriving and needing a taxi to avoid people offering taxi service outside baggage and arrivals. For an example if you going to Nana, Sukhumvit they will charge you around 600-700 baht. If you go outside to get a metered taxi, they have to pay an airport tax (surcharge) straight away. This journey can be up to 450 baht. However by just going upstairs to departures you can easily catch a taxi that just dropped some on off. Just insist on metered and this same trip can be done just under 200 baht. Don't let them try to add on a service charge or airport tax, becuase they didn't have to pay it, by not getting in that que downstairs. They have elevators as well that you can easily fit a luggage trolley on. You get those trolleys at baggage claim for free. The escalators are moving sidewalk types, not steps. You can fit you trolley on them easily as well. When you get up top and go outside look to your right and see the metered taxis. They are across the first lane. Keen drivers will actually be looking for you, and be more than willing to assist you with your bags. Just make sure you establish that your on meter rate. Once I had one try to get an extra 100 baht on top of meter after arriving at my guest house. I asked why and he said for airport tax? I told him he didn't have to pay it, so I'm not either. He was happy to take his meter fare only. For him it was worth a try, thinking the average farang doesn't know any better. I have done this several times now. Thai governement had recently had a big crackdown against the illegal taxi services that were operating which has helped from what I have heard. When you get to the top floor which is departures, you just cross these lanes of traffic. you can actually see the taxi's who have just dropped off people sitting with open doors waiting on the suave travellor. In my case I had a driver searching me out, and on the way to taxi did the usual questioning of meter. 190 baht to Nana. the driver in the center Taxi is actually looking for a suave customer using the departures drop off. I have also used this same principle in Viet Nam (Ho chi Min ) Airport paying about 5 USD instead of $15.
  3. This last trip I stayed at Smart Suites on Soi 11 Sukhumvit. It's located towards the back past LeFenix Hotel so you end up passing by just about everything on the Soi. The only club I've been to is the roof top bar called the Nest on top of LeFenix which I think is well suited to take a ladyboy. Live music doesn't start until later on weekends. Plenty of other clubs perhaps others can fill you in on. Q club, Bed supper club to name a couple. I noticed a couple of changes to restaurants on soi 11. Manchester United Restaurant and Bar has now changed to Champions Restaurant and Bar. Looks pretty much the same as it did in this photo but name has changed. The Catalana which was located under the Prime 11 Sukhumvit is now The American Diner. It's pretty authentic with the decor and the menu. I ate breakfast meal there which was fantastic in quality and portion size. They even had free drink refills like they do in America. A bit pricey as they cater to the business traveller and tourists. My bill was about 400 baht. They have a little table jukebox on every table where you can pick two songs for 5 baht. They have a special everyday. Free cocktail with a plate on Thursdays was one I remember. Sorry I didn't have my camera on me this visit. Here is the building when it was Catalina. Australian Pub and BBQ is on the left past what used to be Man U restaurant and Bar. I only had brekkie, A bit more expensive at 200 for brekkie and hard to substitute things on menu I found. Service GG's wear little skirts. Breakfast was good. Has open air element which exposes you to Indian salesmen selling watches. Who wears a watch anymore? They have a daily happy hour. For those who like Thai dishes from food carts there is an excellent one near the Soi 11 entrance (left hand side as you face Sukhumvit) just in front of 7/11. Great late night and you will often see after work Nana gurlz. they have a wide array of things and have photos of dishes laminated and priced so you can just point to what you want. Then duck into 7/11 get drink and they will bring to your table. Only drawback is they don't have any tissues/napkins. It's my opinion that ladyboy will be more impressed you took her here than some over priced place undercover. chances are she knows about it if she has worked in Nana. Please feel free to add some of your own. Soi 11 is a nice location between Soi 4 and Soi Cowboy. they have a few bars and clubs and also have some alcocarts.

    i Check Inn Soi 7/1

I've now stayed at this hotel on two different occasions. I'm currently here now on a booking using Qantas points. I had some confusion on first booking as I accidentally booked their Silom property and since it was no cancellation Qantas bookings tried to hold me to it even though I realized the mistake directly after booking. The hotel is located right next to Sweetheart Bar and across the Soi from Maxim hotel.I think it's fairly new property and the rooms are in very good shape. Large safe makes it possible to put my laptop into. Good size bathroom with glass shower divider and a window looking into bedroom. Rooms also have flat screens and DVD players. Mini fridge/bar and two free bottles of water daily. A big bed that would accommodate any threesome. Lots of space around the bed. I have a room overlooking soi 7/1 into Maxim restaurant and neighboring dining establishment. Very guest friendly, however they don't call up when gurl leaves, they just give her back ID when they leave. I guess if you had a problem you could call down pending they hadn't drugged you or slit your throat. Desk staff are nice Thai GG's and give you nice greeting when you come and go. They held my bag for me when I traveled to Khon Kaen. Said they would charge me 10 baht a day on my return, but they didn't end up doing so. Cleaning staff is friendly and they leave the cart in the hallway at night so you can always get extra towels if needed. I would leave each day after 1 P.M. and my room was always cleaned by the time I got back. Free WiFi which is fast and easy to upload photos. The biggest drawback with this place is being right next door to Sweetheart so if you have gone with one of them they will see you coming back with someone else. Very convienant location to CIB bar, Nuch Salon, Nana BTS station, and Soi 5 to 7, Closest 7/11 type stores is down Soi 5 past foodland. Expect to pay 40 to 50 USD a night. First booking made through Agoda. Overall I can recommend this place. It's a lot nicer than World Inn and Maxim IMO.
  5. I recently posted about online hotel bookings and was able to source even a better deal than I was previously getting. I thought it would be good to check out some other online flight booking agents. I recently used bestflights.com.au to book 2 different International Flights. I also compared another flight and beat what my employer paid for a 3rd flight, but they insisted on booking it. I also went airline direct which was much higher in all three cases. http://www.bestflights.com.au/cheap-flights/phone-flights-details/round-world-flights/lufthansa-star-alliance/109344 It's located in Australia, so you can also call them from there. You can book from anywhere. When booking the International routes I just utilised round the world option. You'll see tabs for various zones. They also offer many other services (Car hire, hotels, insurance, coach tours, etc......) I have only used the flight deals. The only problem I ran into was when a flight was cancelled by Thai Airlines. They cancelled routes because of downturn in tourists travelling and probably only fly that route 4-5 times a week instead of daily. Anyway, best flights contacted me by email well ahead of time, and offered me to leave BKK a day earlier or go a day later. Neither worked for me as I had already prepaid a hotel to leave BKK that day and arrive Australia a certain day. I told them I needed to be in Australia and was happy to go to Melbourne instead of Brisbane. Best flights said I would incur a rerouting fee. That wasn't acceptable for me since Thai cancelled the flight. I felt like best flights didn't represent me well so I got Thai Airs number from them and spoke to someone direct over the phone. They got back to me in two days time with everything taken care of. I guess by law they didn't have to, but they did as it was no skin off their dicks. Here is another online travel agent that may be worth looking at: http://www.cheapflights.com/book-flights-hotels/?source=goCheapflights-Top10Terms_Top10Terms-CheapInternationalFlights-e&srckeyword=cheap+international+flights&srctype=search Who do you use?

    New Emoticons!

We have had pretty lame selection of those little emoticons until KendoUK provided us with these new ones. You can find and use these by clicking on the You will see the full selection if you use the arrow right button. I think many of us didn't bother using these so much as the right one didn't exist. Here are the newest emoticons (In context) courtesy of KendoUK whose IT skills have been a great asset to the forum. Nice work Kendo It was so frustrating trying to find one to use, that I never bothered to use any. Would often want to drop one, then when I clicked on our selection realized I saw that one on another forum. Like this forum wasn't worthy of anything more than a generic stock selection. Not to bad mouth the old ownership :No No Tut Tut: as I realize they had their hands full with the massive growth of the big sister site. Ah, the sister site, you ever notice how many Amy, Mint, Nicki and threads they have? I reckon that's more a by product of being so cumbersome. Every 3 months a 1st time poster would be asking about long mint and we would hear the same answers we heard a dozen times before. That Amy has her own section FFS. Perhaps we could post some emoticons here that we would like to see added down the track. I'm confident that Kendo can find a way to add some winners. Make sure to check out his outstanding TR http://www.bangkokla...__fromsearch__1 Hope he isn't on just one certain gurl from Udon.
  7. On the way to Sunrise Taco's with a date I saw these show gurlz handing out this flyer to a show. The early show was at 21:00 for 888 baht and the other shows were 1300 baht. So we went and had a quick dinner to make the early show. For that price you get all you can drink. It's located on Sukhumvit Plaza on Sukhumvit 12. Was the first time for me and my LB date to go to a Cabaret and she was delighted that I took her and absolutely loved it. You can take photos which I will post when I get back to Oz as I'm about to board my plane. A great combo of mexican meal and LB show. I'm a big fan of shows and was my first in BKK, but Ihave to say it was worth the price of admission. The gurlz were very attentive as we were the only customers at showtime. Another couple and a lone Jap guy came in right before the curtain opened. Felt like the show was just for us as eye contact was on us the whole time sitting dead center.
  8. Thailand cracks down on Viagra for foreigners BANGKOK: -- Thailand's Food and Drug Administration, FDA, has decided to ban erectional dysfunctional medicine like Viagra and its generic equivalents (Elonza) for foreigners from May 1, 2012. Dr. Somchai Maikaengraeng, deputy Minister of Public Health says the move was necessary because elderly foreigners, are hurting their health with the use of this class of drugs. "Loss of potency as one ages is nature's way of safe guarding your health and should be accepted as such" says Dr. Somchai. "Since there has been too many cases of adverse effects in older foreign men with conditions that contraindicate the use of the drug, and doctors just can't seem to say no when patients plead to get it prescribed, from May 1 the drug will not be available on prescription for foreigners over or under the counter in Thai pharmacies and hospitals. It is feared that many older men plead for the medicine, just for sexual pleasure. FDA spokesman Dr. Ekkarin Fugmyleksomboon stresses that such use is immoral and against government policy. He also revealed there is an increasing number of cases of older people using viagra and dying while having sex, as they can't control their "urge". Several foreign tourists have been found dead in compromising circumstances in recent months. In these cases Thai authorities try to protect the family of the man and tell them they died of a heart attack. However, while monitoring internet forums for illegal content, police have noticed people blaming the police for cover ups while they only want to protect the relatives, says Dr. Fugmyleksomboon. Dr. Ekkarin continues: "As the drug is not necessary for the treatment of any life threatening condition and its usage is so hard to control, it is better to ban altogether, so we are putting the drug in the same category as heroin and amphetamines". The Thai Authorities see no public health benefit in helping older foreigner men get or maintain erections and indeed, avoiding same might have a positive impact in terms of decreasing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, STIs, says Dr. Somchai of the Ministry of Public Health. Thai postal authorities have been instructed to open packages from known drug supplying countries, and any such drugs found will be confiscated and the consignee taken to court for violation of Thai law. -- thaivisa.com 2012-04-01
  9. I thought we had this website for Suvarnabhumi (Swampy) Airport on a thread but I couldn't find it. http://www.suvarnabhumiairport.com/index_en.php Has some great info about the airport and its services. Baggage storage for 100 baht a day, ground transport options, train info, longes in the airport, shopping, VAT, dining, and you can even learn that Swampy earned best public toilet in 2012. The one thing I couldn't find was an area before immigration where you could take a shower for free. I heard someone mention this before on this site but couldn't find it. Does this exist and anyone use this? Couldn't find it on this site, The reason why I ask is I have a layover in BKK from 20:30 to 07:45 and I'm wanting to weigh out my options. I could shit, shower shave, store my bags and head to Nana and just use their ST rooms. I'll probably end up just getting a cheap hotel on Soi 7/1 (World or Star Inn) for around 700 to 800 baht and using that as a ST room and clean up there and store my carry on. Probably won't sleep at all and head to airport around 05:30. Probably find a Nana ST'er then head to Check Inn bar after and see what they have on offer.

    LeFenix Soi 11 (updated 2014)

I chose LeFenix based on a recommendation from One True Saxon's review. I've followed several of his hotel recommendations and found them spot on. LeFenix was no different and thought it deserved having it's own thread. If your looking for LB friendly places to stay near Nana then check out his Hotel review thread. http://www.bangkokladyboys.net/forum/index.php?/topic/2785-otss-hotel-reviews/ I'll repost OTS review from his review thread here: Le Fenix Sukhumvit is a fun little hotel in Bangkok I have only stayed here the once back in February 2009 and I liked the hotel a lot, though I should think about using it again I always recommend to those who love clubs and bars.So it's a convenient hotel with no joiner fees if you choose to take a bar girl or freelancer back to your room. The reception is on the first floor and their is a lift in the car park that takes you straight up using your key card. Or if you wish you can go via reception The place is designed in line with club and party minded guests. There is a decent roof top bar on the top floor called the Nest and even though the building is 8 stories tall you still get a decent view of the surrounding area. I went a each night but on the last night gave it a miss, As I swear that's were the mozzies bit me all down my arms, while lying sipping cocktails on one of the beds. There's a small swimming pool and gym. A free tuk tuk ride to the BTS Nana station which is right in front of Sukhumvit Soi 11. Though the biggest perks is you get free entrance to Q Bar and Bed Supperclub (only during non-special events). Normally you'd have to pay 500THB to 700THB entry free just to get in to both clubs. And you also get 20% off for food at Bed Supperclub so it pays to be a hotel guest at Le Fenix. The hotel is located a little ways down on Suk Soi 11. About 300 meters and right across from Q Bar. So it's easy to find. Though if you find the walk a little bit too far, the hotel does provide tuk tuk service to take you to the entrance of Sukhumvit road. And right in front is the BTS Nana station. And the location is an ideal point for visiting Soi Cowboy or Nana go go bars. Because it's right in between the two red light districts. So you can walk to either one in about 10 minutes. As I mentioned earlier you book a standard or superior room for about 1400THB through Agoda.com. It's not a bad price at all for a 3 star hotel in the middle of everything a single guy could need. And it's a guest friendly hotel right on Sukhumvit so no problems with inviting bar girls or freelancers to a room there. Here's the email confirmation below for your reference:. The only annoying problem I had was the light in the wardrobe would not go out when you shut the doors. most honest hotel I have stayed. I forgot to shut the safe door one morning and when I arrived back at the hotel, Their was a note saying to go to reception. They went up to the room opened the safe, as the cleaning staff told them it was open so they set it back to reset. I checked and everything was in order. Big tip for cleaning staff when I left as well as recption.
  11. It's open now. Johnny the Paradise Club owner posted on his visit. A couple of people asked how it was. " It's a must boys - Chili beer is a bad boy . Quesadillas , tostadas and a delicious shrimp Diablo ."
  12. You would increase your odds of finding her exponentially if you posted a photo of her. You would also be better served posting this in the "anyone know this bird.." section of the forum. Alternatively a post on the Charades bar thread would have been your best bet in my opinion.
  13. They must have run into a few problems since their opening date was advertised as October 31st. I walked past a few time's in October and saw them working on masonry inside and noticed the artist rendition on the barrier outside. I thought there was no way they would make it by the end of month for their opening. Both their website:http://http://themexicanbkk.com/ and their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/TheMexicanBKK/?fref=ts say nothing about opening date. For those who may not have known where Paradise club was located here is a map of the area.

Aspen Suites soi 2 (Updated 2015)

January is a tough month for for getting upgrades, but worth a try, otherwise you'll need to wedge something around the beds wheels so it doesn't move. You might even talk to the manager and arrange maintenance to rig something. Aum (Thai) and Ning (Lao) from Chaos 9. They are quite keen to work together again.
  15. I ended up going to Above Eleven (located on top of Fraser Suites) after stopping in at the Nest above LeFenix Hotel. There was no live music at the nest, so I wasn't going to pay those drink prices there all night so I took my date (Jell) for the evening to Above Eleven. The drink prices were about the same but Above Eleven offers a better view of the city and I hadn't been before. No worries with a ladyboy, but they have a dress code sign as you enter. The atmosphere is quite nice and comfortable. As we arrived later a table on outer edge was open. The kitchen had just closed so we couldn't order a nibbly. I was quite impressed with the bathrooms as they offered a great view (Soi 11 and city) as well. Would be an even better view during daylight hours, but getting a table may be difficult. It's a pretty nice set up really and would be a great place to take a date for a more quite relaxed evening out. I think I would rather take just one ladyboy rather than a few. Jell had never been either so it was nice for both of us to experience it for the first time together. Provides them a great place to take their selfies of where they are and what they are eating/drinking.

Aspen Suites soi 2 (Updated 2015)

I recently stayed in Aspen on three different bookings. During my first stay the internet was spotty at best, which was the case in February. I was upgraded as a return customer and they had rooms to spare. The manager and desk people are all polite and helpful except for the younger male who is a bit unattentive in my estimation. I brought multiple guests without an issue. However they don't seem to be calling up to my room when they leave like they used to. I didn't have the water runoff on the floor from the shower as I experienced in the Deluxe room. The maid staff was excellent as usual cleaning the room whenever I wanted it. I was tipping them daily so was able to extra towels. I managed to make it to a few breakfasts, and would bring up a plate with fruits and yogurt for later. I took off for CM and then London, so I left a bag behind at no charge. I returned mid month and had 3 days booked through Agoda in an executive suite again. I added 3 days on a Qantas awards booking in a deluxe room, but was able to stay in the same room (Executive Suite). Had no problems and little to no wait times for the tuk tuk. I also used i check in and Lohas Suites tuk tuk when I was returning to Soi 2. They are all real good about picking up each others guests I've found. I've found that Aspens prices have been better than i check inns, and is a nicer and bigger rooms in my estimation. Lohas had some specials which were around 80 AUD a night, but opted for Aspen at $65 a night. I noticed more Arabs and Chinese this time around, and with that more kids are present. The beds in the executive suite are huge, but are actually two doubles put together. Spacious, but there is a ridge in the middle which isn't the most comfortable place to sleep if three in the bed. In the executive suite and the bed is pinned in better by night stands, so the bed didn't have near the movement as other rooms I experienced before.

    Club Dang Cabaret Show

I had a go with Pechey who is still working at Club Daeng. I have another I'm hoping to hook into eventually. They don't make a lot of money from the shows so many work day jobs too. They are ladyboys and like to have fun like the ones in bars. I'm quite certain that several would be willing to go out after the show, but you'll have to pay the price of buying them some drinks at show (300 baht a pop) just to get them out. Doors open at 8:30 for first show and the all you can drink special is now 1000 baht. Drinks for the performers is 300 baht. You can pay 888 baht and get one drink, but they won't sit with you. I usually just tip them which they don't mind and then buy a favorite a drink after. Some photos from a show in mid October. I'll try to post some more later.
  18. I'm pretty sure Nana station will get one eventually if they haven't yet. They had one at Phaya Thai which is where the airport rail links with BTS.
  19. I was quite surprised to read in the BKK post back in January that BTS stations were going to made W/C Accessible (lift's). I was even more surprised to see that they have started to do this. I saw an elevator being installed at one of the stops. I'm not sure if they will be open to everyone to use, which would make it easier for travelling with luggage too and from the airport.

    Grand Inn (Updated 2014)

I recently stayed at the Grand Inn on Soi 3, Sukhumvit. Very close to the action just on the other side of Sukhumvit from Soi 4. I was basically trialing a new place and only stayed there one day on my way back from Phuket. I found the service to be great and the desk very friendly to me and my guest. I checked out of the Majestic Suites on a Thursday and headed to Phuket. I didn't want to lug my big bag down for just the weekend so I asked if I could leave the bag with them and pick it up Sunday when I checked in. No problem. I didn't want to ask Majestic Suites to hold it with me not staying there on return so it really helped me out. Very friendly to my ladyboy guest. The security guy asked for her ID at night but the desk person said she checked in with me. I didn't get to use the internet as I my time was short on return and going otu that night. Check out was Noon, but they gave me an extra hour on request. We didn't get out of the room until 1:15 and they didn't say a thing or call up. Very friendly on check out and checking in. The room was a bit small and the shower was in the tub. Also there is little to no room around the sink. It had a safe, big closet, old style turn key, 24 hour reception and a security guy who opens the door for you. It's kind of crowded on Soi 3 and not easy to see. It's an older hotel, but has been remodelled so it looks nice in the lobby and the rooms. Deluxe Double was $40.13 AUD tax included. The view was poor on my side with just a old building. Had a narrow balcony for smoking I guess. Great proximity to Soi 4/Nana/Soi 5 (Foodland, CIB, and lots of eating places. 7/11 just next door) Drawbacks - crowded sidewalks going in an out of hotel, small size room and bathroom, but plenty of room around the bed. Booked through Agoda and noticed the same room over New Years is $205 AUD a night ouch! http://www.agoda.com/grand-inn-hotel/hotel/bangkok-th.html?

    Swan Inn, Soi 4

I've stayed at Swan Inn on Soi 4 on two different occasions. It's a very cheap option located just past Rajah Hotel Complex on the opposite side of Soi 4. I had stayed in Swan Inn 2 which is further down Soi 4 and a little nicer and bigger rooms. The first time I stayed there I used it as a day room since I had a midnight flight. My hotel on soi 2 couldn't give me a late check out because they were booked full that next day. I don't think they take reservations and aren't listed on booking sites like Agoda. You basically walk up and see if they have a room around noon. The cost is 700 baht. I think they have 14 rooms total all on the second floor. The internet signal is poor unless you are close to the front. My second day I couldn't get signal in the room. big fridge, 2 free bottles of water, warm water in shower. It would make a a good ST room if you were looking to do multiples near Nana. No safe for valuables. The outlets are antiquated, but I was lucky to have an adapter that worked. The second time I used it when I ended up changing my flight and staying two extra days. My hotel (Aspen Suites) didn't have any rooms on those dates as they were booked full for the Chinese new year. I thought that may be the story at most places on short notice so I went to this place and paid 2100 baht for 3 nights. Nothing fancy, but okay in a pinch.
