The biggest threat to the public at Bangkok buffets are Chinese tourists who don't dish food on to their plates, but grab entire platters directly from the serving line to take back to their tables. -

I haven't tried it but as a rule I'd avoid buffets (especially at lower prices) in tourist places like that. There's always better food nearby in Bangkok and I tend not to trust buffets like that for hygiene either. Obviously, if you really wanna to go to the observation deck and are hungry it might have uses but it's not something I'd recommend to my friends who visit Bangkok. -
Hi everyone, Did anyone tried this restaurant (Crystal Grill @floor82) Is it worth it? They have a buffet for 790 Baht in the 82nd floor. https://www.google.pt/maps/place/Crystal+Grill+@floor82/@13.7542409,100.5405514,1086m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m7!3m6!1s0x30e29ec87a3153df:0x5b92021d28cb7561!8m2!3d13.7543787!4d100.5403193!10e9!16s%2Fg%2F11j1_gzfwt?hl=pt-PT&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDIwOC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D Thanks

Do you mean Bangkok city lodge the one right on the corner its alright no thrills, a bit worn but room is decent size and great location I've even rebooked there . Room is key, not card. Reception dont give a crap who you being back.
-
I've stayed at City Lodge before, which was fine. Had a few nice STs in there. Good price, great location. My room wasn't noisy (apart from when my guests were visiting). I have a couple of days booked there again soon, happy to revisit again after my last experience.
-
They have always struck me as being a bit on the economy end of the scale. That said, providing they are clean then the location is good.
-
I stayed at Maxim’s Inn, December before last, in the superior room - one with a window, pictures below. It’s right at the end of Soi 7/1 so little or no traffic noise. It is however across the road and two buildings up from the Green Room which has live bands playing in the evening up until as late as 2am. From a noise point of view it felt like the band was playing in the room with me. So not recommended if you are looking for a quiet evening.

Hello there I want to book my Hotel in the next days and I found 2 that have a good location, City Lodge and Maxim's Inn. Does anyone know them? Is the location noisy? Thanks

@ausmagoo for some reason is working again. Thanks for your prompt help, for other people that have problem with accessing this and the sister site , then u need the tor browser , and use their union protocol which add layers into your packet so they dont know where u come from and they cannot block u. In short work like a vpn, is free but u must turn on everytime . See pic -

abcdef posted a topic in Technology and I.T Forum
i am now travelling in malaysia. I am trying to access both site from a Malaysia esim . I believe both sites are restricted locally, it will load forever . I then downloaded the TOR browser which has a union protocol to hide my packet then i was able to access both sites for a few days. But today the pattaya site now banned my account but bangkok site is still good. anyone have that experience? -

Thanks to everyone who's responded and the good advice. On this occasion I've decided that what will make me feel most comfortable is to book the refundable fully flexible Emirates ticket. I'll choose a date somewhere near the end of the 60 days tourist visa which will mean I've actually got a ticket out of dodge should I need it at short notice, although the plan is still to refund it and purchase a cheaper one at some point.
-
The TDAC, Thailand Digital Arrival Card does asks you. I had a friend come in December he left it blank he said they asked him about the out bound flight for the first time in over a decade of coming here. He got in without much trouble saying he was going to travel around and wasn’t sure of the exact dates but they told him in future he should book one.
-
Unless you have history of overstaying you will be fine. I've been asked once or twice when I'm leaving Thailand and have showed them my (genuine) return flight booking in an app. They're not going to get it forensically analysed, all they want to know is if you're a genuine tourist and not going to overstay. If you're really worried then book the cheapest flight you can find to Cambodia, Malaysia or Indonesia.
-
Thanks for that, have had a look and it does seems a straightforward inexpensive option. My concern would be getting rumbled at Thai Immigration and then as you've basically cheated the system getting refused entry. Has anyone heard of that ever happening ? Just checked my last Digital Arrival card and onward travel is definitely required on the form.

Try this: https://onwardticket.com/en

I've travelled before to BKK on a one way ticket, but also had a ticket out booked as well. However no one asked about the return ticket, so how did they know it existed or would it somehow appear on the airlines systems even though I was using different airlines ? Reason for asking is I want to book another one way but as I'm not sure how long I'm staying and so would prefer not to book a return until I'm ready. I'm guessing booking the fully refundable return ticket is probably still the best option. Just checked with Emirates and a Flex Plus ticket states Complimentary Cancellation/ or 300US Cancellation charge if you're a no show. Seems you have to go to Modify My Booking to request the cancellation and then complete an online refund form as well. All this seems a pain and of course have to shell out the 37,565 Baht for the ticket as well.

Haha ... blame it on a sticky finger Indeed, 1200 THB!
-
Either a typo or you splurged for the ten person van, haha. 1200 for a normal car. I take Orange all the time to Pattaya and back. When I first started using them I'd say maybe 1 trip in 10 was substandard in some way. Now I haven't had a bad trip for a long time. Once they sent a subaru that looked like it was ready for street racing. The sport suspension made it one of my most uncomfortable rides ever. I told Orange that they cannot do that to me again and maybe that message has got through because I've been upgraded for free twice now.
-
I can also vouch for them. Been using Nam's taxi quite a few time, always on time and smooth sailing to/from Pattaya and lower suk/airport.
-
Just had confirmation back from Nam's, bargain, especially compared to the now even higher AOT prices: The price is 1200 bath all tolls included with sedan L. Driver will waiting for you at Meeting point near the Exit 3 (level 2) Please look for her with your name on a card. We will get back to you on the day evening with name of your driver and her picture.
-
Thanks @jaredblanc, I'll see how I get on with Nam's but they will be my next port of call. A safe and comfortable drive is a much higher priority having experienced wild driving on Thai highways.
