Soi 8, especially further down, is the quietest place to stay in the heart of the action zone. I stayed at Citadines last trip which is getting a little tired, but has a spacious, very good layout with a couch and kitchenette. Also less than half what you paid in low season for this hotel. I was able to whisk my girls up to my loom without too much fuss from reception which was often busy (too many South Asians were staying there for my liking, leaving their rooms open whilst blasting their tvs. Very inconsiderate people. Is there a list of hotels where these folk (and Arabs) don’t stay?), especially Ploy who was just too drunk one night. Never take a drunk girl out of CIB, gentlemen. If Soi 8 is too far to stagger home to from CIB, just get a tuk tuk from Sukhumvit for 100 baht …
