    • Maybe I could do that but I'm very conscious of the fact that most BMs don't want to or simply don't have time to leave the prime LB hunting ground for food. The same thing was often true for me on my mongering visits. Also, I'm not sure how many BMs would be interested in trying out local food so much anyway but if there's interest I could give more recommendations. Apologies to those who aren't interested of course. It's quite funny and maybe tragic for me to think of the change from when I was single and travelling to Bangkok at least partly for mongering. The final day or two before leaving and especially the moments between landing and getting to the hotel would be filled with me thinking which girl(s) I'm going for first if possible. Nowadays before my recent trips I'm thinking about where to eat and which bars I'll be going to instead. Admittedly my craving for a biryani at Amin's isn't close to my craving for a LT with Gina or Ploy when Thailand was reopening after COVID but still I'm quite hungry.
    • Thanks @Genghis I can feel a great series coming up.... @Genghis Top 10 Cheap Eats With a run down on what you scoffed, menus, photos and of course points out of 10 given by you and Mrs @Genghis. Maybe a few varied cuisines and dishes? I think BMs would love it and if I can cure my phobia of travelling beyond soi 22, I'd also go and have a butchers at them. Just a suggestion. SAG
    • I'm not really sure whether it's worth me making a recommendation for this place here due it not being in Lower Sukhumvit so it'll be inconvenient for people staying in the mongering epicentre. However, it's just a short walk from Saphan Thaksin BTS and would be very convenient if people are heading towards the riverfront and major tourist attractions in that part of town. It's also worth the short trip on the train if you wanted to eat something outstanding at low prices before exploring somewhere different. My real reason for recommending this place is that I'm getting very close to my next trip to Bangkok and both my Mrs and myself are craving a meal here. I think she might even be looking forward to it more than done of the excellent food her mother cooks so it's highly recommended by us both. Anyway, Amin Biryani is quite a famous place in it's own way. It was open for decades in a different location but has now relocated since COVID caused it to close.  The food is Southern Thai Muslim food with amazing biryanis and curries. The food is unusually spiced for a lot of Thai food but avoids being extremely hot from chillies so would be accessible to most farang, especially those who like good Indian food as there are some similarities while remaining noticeably Thai. Another reason for me recommending this place now is that the (often irritating but still very popular) youtuber Mark Wiens has recently done a video here. That can be good and bad in my opinion. I like to see them get exposure from a very successful media source but hopefully it doesn't result in it becoming too popular causing it to raise prices, lower standards or both.   If you fancy trying out one of my favourite street food places anywhere in Thailand (while it's still cheap and has excellent standards) I can't recommend this place highly enough. Easily in my top 10 cheap eats in Bangkok. Amin Biryani is located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RD1VKwxLDL3ZsGx26   Apologies for posting one of his videos but it gives a good overview of the food if you skip through his gurning at the camera.
    • The green room in soi 7/1 has a variety of bands so maybe check them when you arrive, they may have "socials" to check. Pattaya has a lot of live bands on offer.
    • Thanks for the advices. I added some to my list  I'm planning to stay in the Nana Hotel, so some of the bars are really near.
