montblanc 165 #1 Posted September 10, 2009 I have recently used the Dawin in Soi 4, 300m from the Nana complex. I booked through Agoda and 4 nights cost $210 USD. The place was good, very clean with friendly staff. The rooms were quiet despite its location; I like quiet to get a good sleep. I did request a change of sheets each day which cost 50 baht each change, no big deal. The room was a modern design and the bathroom had a powerful shower. No issues taking GG or LB in at night. I will most likely stay there again. I have previously stayed at the Landmark. It was very nice but there was quite a long ‘walk of shame’ to get to the elevator where the concierge grabs the ID card. No problems with GG or LB. I had paid about $150 USD a night there before. There is a good pub in the basement called the Huntsman. They do great ‘all you can eat ribs’ and a happy hour 2 for 1 drinks in the evening. It’s very good if you want a break from Thai food. Found a nice restaurant called Baan Khanitha which specialises in traditional Thai fish dishes, sea and fresh water. Excellent value, it is upmarket though and well worth a visit. Our shared main dish was 900Bht. The address is 36/1 Sukhumvit 23 Soi Prasan mitr, about 400m from Soi Cowboy.
bigmick22 68 #2 Posted September 11, 2009 thanks for the review montblanc I've heard good things about the Dawn (it's only about a year old) As it's part of the Dynasty group of hotels, I'm not surprised. They know what they're doing and have great staff

robw 6 #6 Posted August 2, 2010 Hi I know Dawin is LB friendly but can you bring back more than 1 at a time? I'm planning on having threesomes next trip.
Two Shots 8 #7 Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Not sure on that one, there were some hotels in area that put a stopper on more than one LB, Nana hotel was one of them, but rules change, so maybe enquire before you turn up with an entourage, might well have to pay some baht joiner for third person. Most of the LB in area will know the score if their upfront with you, ask them and they will possibly tell you the correct answer. Theres always the ST 'Hotels' in Nana. Ps: Nana area is a safe area, safer than most European inner cities and I hope not stating the obvious here but as you said first time to Nana, should you walk back up Soi 4 late at night or Early morning, and theres no reason you shouldnt, but especially if you've had a few beers once you've passed the main bar areas you may be approached by FL LB in Street, but don't let them get too close to you as there are a few who have very nimble fingers and like the feel of a wallet, camera or phone, and may work in pairs..............and on threesomes find them in the bars and not two FL its just more safe. But it is a safe area and I break all my rules, but on my last trip I had to bail out of a Cab when one LB I met near Guess bar II became an uninvited pair of LB and the Vibe was not to my liking. kunden 20 #8 Posted August 3, 2010 A year and half back they would charge 500 extra for a second girl at DIG and Dawin - at most times. Seems like there were exceptions, from person to person who worked in the reception. If 3-some is a must, Majestic Suites/Grande, Ever Rich Inn, Grand Business Inn allows more than one girl w/o extra charge. Nana Hotel, as mentioned, do not allow 2 LBs to enter. I even had some problem to get a filipino LB in there since didn't have a thai ID(TS Kristtie @ts-dating. Huge cumshot on that girl, but smallish cock, around 6'' if I'm nice)
robw 6 #9 Posted August 3, 2010 Thanks for the replies Lis and Kunden.Although I haven't spent much time in Bangkok and none in Nana I've spent heaps of time in Pattaya and I'm wary of letting strange lbS getting close. As for wallet I don't carry one in LOS and my new I phone is not coming out of the safe.I'm bringing a cheap mobile with me and will get a local sim card. Cheers Rob. sprechen_sie 9 #10 Posted August 30, 2010 Dawin Hotel is LB friendly and overall guest friendly. I was there 24-26 Aug 2010 and my stay there was great. Staff, hotel room and restaurant were all great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay close to the action. The price is reasonable and you don't have to worry about food when it rains because the restaurant serves great food.

taaseesanuk 4,029 #14 Posted February 11 It's been nearly 15 years since this thread had a bump, even BMthanks hasn't had a say on it. Some BM's may recall thanks he was very prominent and loved to comment on almost everything, sadly absent for a good while now. Anyway, I spent a night on Sunday at The Dawin. I booked through Agoda at a cost of £60, this was considerably cheaper than Citrus Suites and The Adelphi but a tad more than the Dynasty Inn and Nana Hotel. The Hotel is modern with a nice casual bistro style eaterie at the front and then through to reception. All staff were attentive and pleasant and check in took 5 mins. My room was on the 3rd floor, there appears to be only one lift that probably has space for 4 people or two with cases. The room was spacious, i had a desk and armchair and the wall were clean and newly painted. Hanging space was plentiful. The bathroom was adequate but not high end, the shower was was on a flexi hose like you would have on bath taps but the water was hot and powerful. The bed was big and comfortable and I experienced no noise issues. Would i book again? Yes, for a night but not longer, it's bang opposite Why Not and those girls would spot my every move of ingoings and outgoings! I will try and provide an update on The Citrus suites later this month. 1 gottalove reacted to this

Thanks for the info @taaseesanuk. I've never stayed at Dawin myself. I'm afraid I'll be doing nothing else than crossing the road 2 times a day when I do But I had dinner there a few weeks ago and it was excellent. This is what I wrote in my TR: Also for dinner a tried a new place, being the Dawin hotel, opposite Why Not. I felt like sneaky stalker, sitting on their terrace, but their food is awesome. I had a spicey spaghetti with bacon and banana fritters with ice-cream as dessert For sure worth a recommendation! And indeed, bang opposite of Why Not bar : 2 taaseesanuk and gottalove reacted to this

When they assign you a room, the very first thing you need to do is open the shower door and verify there are no sewer odors coming from the drain. I ran into this issue during my stay there in December. They gave me a new room. I know that Thai plumbing can be dodgy in older buildings, so it was surprising to experience it in building just a few years old. FWIW, I have stayed at Citrus Suites 3 or 4 times over the years and never had any odor issues until last visit. What is interesting that I had the same issue with a Citrus 11 room a few years back. The staff there gave the impression they were quite well acquainted with the problem of smelly shower drain odors. Make what you will of that.
