    Your first time eh? Welcome!
You have a number of options and all have pros and cons.
So, let's assume you've picked up your preferred LB in one of the Nana Plaza bars or CiB.
Besides the agreed sum for short of long time (anywhere between 1,000 and 2,000 baht) you will need to pay a bar fine (600 - 700 baht) and that will be on top of one or two drinks you will have purchased, say from 320 baht upward).
As this is your first time, it may be more expedient to take the option of renting one of the rooms upstairs for as little as 350 thb.
This will eliminate any awkwardness should anything go wrong in "your room".
Total approximate cost 3,500 to 4,000 baht not factoring in your time to reach the venue.
Pros: you see the LB you like in real life
Cons: If you do not find what you like at the start, it may turn out to be time consuming and moving from bar to bar will require new drinks.

A second option is "room service".
You can order your favourite "take away" from a website like www.ladyboy-for-you.com
and have it delivered to your room.
Pros: very easy and time efficient, not having to walk next to her if that embarrassing for you
Cons: more expensive and the LB may not turn out to look/be what you expected.

    Third option "street food"
walk down Sukhumvit road any time after 7 pm on the odd side of the road past the BTS at Asok and all the way down to Soi 3 and you will go past countless options many of which are LBs.
Most will know of a short time hotel nearby for 350 - 400 baht and their short time rate may be as low as 1,000 baht.

    Fourth option
Try a dating site such as Thai friendly and be amazed as to how reasonably easy it is to hook up with a LBs.
Some LBs will be professional freelancers and some will be delightful LBs genuinely looking for a relationship.
If the latter, meeting them for a drink or dinner may be a pleasant option.
pros: lots of choice and you can filter by age, weight etc.
Cons: There is a risk your date may be older or bigger than the photo on the website.
Under this option, you may have to take them back to your hotel.

In terms of cheap 2 star plus hotels which are LBs friendly, an acquaintance of mine is quite pleased with the Orchid group.
There are three of those in Soi 4 including the White Orchid Inn.
    Good luck.

Been meaning to try this place for a few years and never managed to get there until this last Sunday. Pretty sure it used to be on the other side of Sukhumvit directly under the BTS but never mind.

Located about 150m into the soi and on same side as the Westin & Robinson department store. It is very narrow and very easy to miss especially like us you're coming by taxi.

The pub is nicely kitted out in traditional British style and has full range of local beer but did not spot any imported beers like Killkenny/Guinness.

'er indoors and myself were joined by Youngone and as it was Sunday I was keen to try the roast. I ordered roast beef and was very satisfied with it. Youngone has chicken Kiev which was swimming in garlic butter but looked appetizing and the missus had Tom Yum Goong. The total biill came to 1500b for the 3 of us including a drink each.

    I'd certainly return.

Pic is of my roast beef and a few others taken from their website which is here:- http://www.blackswanbangkok.com/

I also use Bully's when in LOS.It is not the cheapest for food and drink but the quality is
excellent.A pitcher of beer with sausage and mash and I'm a happy boy.I didn't expect the sausages to be good but they are like long tasty chipolates and with the cheesy mash and onion gravy were as good as I've had anywhere!I like going there a couple of times of week to read the English papers which they provide for free.Good food, beer, the Sun (newspaper) and ladyboys round the corner what more can an Englishman want when in Bangkok? My annual visit will be in January and I can't wait.

Yes i agree 100% . If one doesnt like kfc thats their choice but as kfc is very popular it is very relevant information . For me i like to be handy to an outlet that provides good coffee & also one that isclose to the bts . So therefore would appreciate that info . I enjoy OTS's hotel reviews as they are quite thorough with regards to information that many bm's seek .

The fact there is a KFC is good useful information for some board members. Do you have something useful to contribute as in: where is there a better restaurant that sells fried chicken, closer to the hotel, for less money and open at the same or longer hours? If so then please post it. Maybe some of us will try it and feedback. The nature of this forum is to provide helpful information in a respectful manner. For example, some people will find the info I have posted totally useless, but for other members it may be helpful.

Yeah they seem to love it. I once tipped the ferris wheel guy quite a bit so that only me and my date would be in the gondola. My date was super happy and was good for me too as it showed in the bedroom after.

Boomerang reacted to mardhi in BFS Taxi limo price?
Drove in from the Airport last Friday and landed at 15.30 after flying in from Singapore. Got through immigration fairly quickly as used business class priority passes for both of us and our bags were nearly first out. Immigration chap seemed to be intent on causing problems for the missus. The thought of a Lao LB using a Business Class express pass and actually being on a valid visa with re-entry permits caught him off guard. I corrected him on his presumably deliberate visa error and he relented and stamped her in to the full validity of her visa extension.

Driver was waiting with the stretch 7 series limo and following quick smoking break, we were in car heading downtown at 4pm. I'd expect gridlock at that time given it being a Friday and the start of Chinese New Year. Hit static traffic as soon as on the main highway where the airport traffic hits the number 7 motorway traffic which can be normal almost anytime of the day. As usual that cleared in a few minutes and the road opened up. Used the toll for Rama9 expressway but spotted well backed up traffic in the distance and the driver managed to slip off at the Rama9 free road off ramp. Made good progress along Rama 9 side roads and he took the Asoke turn and then an almost immediate right onto Petchburi Road. As luck would have it, very light traffic and it all kept moving. Turned into soi 3 and all clear down to Bumrungrad where it stacked back. Took left into the little soi where the PB hotel is and cut through to Soi 11. The driver knew all the cut through and was amazed I did as well !! That is what living in BKK with a car for 6 years does to you lol.

Checking in at the Grand President at 16.30. An hour from touchdown to checking in. I was amazed and delighted how quick we did the whole thing. The more I think about it, the more I am going to use this route in the future. The off ramp at Soi 1 Ploenchit is a nightmare these days. I can only guess it is because Krung Thai Bank HQ staff can now turn right onto Sukhumvit and block the traffic that is coming off the expressway ramp.

Few pics of the limo and the missus wearing her anti-travel sick wrist bands !!!

Boomerang reacted to Rodrigo in Thailand has been downgraded by the FAA
Yes they found significant safety concern in the way Thailand has given air operators certification to some thai airlines. ICAO gave Thailand enough notice to rectify it but in typical thai fashion they messed it up. Then to make matters worse they invited the FAA for an audit thinking it will have a better outcome. But it was worse.
Now they got help from EASA and got a better result. In fact Thailand has only two major issues. One was on dangerous goods and the other was giving this air operators certification to some airlines.
If they had suspended these licenses then the major concern would have been removed.
Now due to the action by FAA Thailand has decided to go for the EASA certification system.
Actually there is huge commercial rivaly between FAA and EASA. But EASA is winning due to Europe and of course the former British colonies. If FAA had not done this I think Thailand would have gone for FAA certification.

Up to about 18 months ago I used to buy 6 First class LHR-BKK round tickets in one go from Thai's BKK HQ at a special discounted rate, i.e. I paid for them straight away in January and used them up through the year. A bean counter, in all his/her wisdom, decided at some point that secured upfront cash was less important than a potential higher margin and cancelled the advance purchase option for me. As a result of this decision I started looking around at various booking portals and have flown with EVA instead of Thai 3 times in 2015. I find that travelsupermarket.com gives a pretty good overview of the available options in all booking classes for direct flights ( only EVA, Thai and BA fly direct)and indirect flights between LHR and BKK. From a pricing perspective EVA and BA seems to offer equal and sometimes better fares than the various 3d party sellers, whilst Thai consistently offers prices in C/F class that are £100-£150 more expensive.

I tend to purchase direct from the airline, even if the price is slightly higher, because it's easier to make changes to the booking that way. A call to the airline is much quicker and more efficient in my experience than calling a 3d party seller's call centre where there are often long queues to get through and more often than not they need to call me back as they're not able to confirm the changes on the spot. As for the bean counters commercially insane decision: I used to spend in the region of £20K/year with Thai, which in 2015 dropped to around £9K for 3 flights. The other 3 flights were booked with EVA for around £2K per ticket, so as a result Thai was £11K worse off, EVA was £6K better off and most importantly I saved £5K.

I must admit that service and comfort in Thai's First class is far better than EVA's or BA's Business class though and my next 3 flights will be with them, but only because I've got 2 free upgrades from C to F and a 50% promo offer on miles to use ( 90K miles instead of 180K).

Some pics from Thai's First class on their A380 on the LHR-BKK route.

Thank you. I have tried many online sites and the major issue is the rates they quote online at those sites were very rigid and in economy most of the times. My times need to be flexible and to be honest I am in aviation and have been all my life and also a member of the flyer forum too. Yes there are sometimes good rates from Europe and US to Asia but those don't work for me because of these issues.
    Thank you for the advice
