Fred71 reacted to mardhi in Cosy at Ten - nearest hotel to Check-in Bar, soi 10
I stayed at Cozy @ Ten this last weekend for 2 nights. For the price (1400b net) I was impressed. I'd been allocated a 6th floor room on a smoking floor. The bonus was it has a balcony which are only in 6th floor rooms. Non smoking floors are 2,3,4. The room I got was at the rear, so overlooked CIB. Rooms at front (1600b) overlook Chuwit Park and are larger.

Comfortable bed, Decent aircon, free wifi, decent hot shower. Had everything I look for. Also had safe in the room. Onsite Italian restaurant is decent and very cheap. I had Pasta Carbonara and it was 170 baht and pretty decent to eat.

Hotel has some neat lift which is basically a moving floor and doors that lock until the floor arrives on your floor. Reminded me of a French apartment building from years ago, albeit this lift system looks brand new.

I'd stay here again without 2nd thought. The missus loved the bed and rated it almost as good as the one in our house.

You can see the 2 pics are different sized rooms. The smaller is same as we had (at the back) - the larger are at the front as I took a peek when a maid was cleaning one. Rooms at the front are likely quieter for quirky reason. At the back you can hear all the various aircon units and restaurant extractors going on like an ensemble. Not such an issue with window/balcony door closed but very noticeable when you step outside. No such vents at the front.

Apparently, This hotel is well used to CIB LB's visiting according to the info my GF fed me. So presumably it is very LB friendly. From the back door, it is about 25 feet away from CIB front door.

Been meaning to try this place for a few years and never managed to get there until this last Sunday. Pretty sure it used to be on the other side of Sukhumvit directly under the BTS but never mind.

Located about 150m into the soi and on same side as the Westin & Robinson department store. It is very narrow and very easy to miss especially like us you're coming by taxi.

The pub is nicely kitted out in traditional British style and has full range of local beer but did not spot any imported beers like Killkenny/Guinness.

'er indoors and myself were joined by Youngone and as it was Sunday I was keen to try the roast. I ordered roast beef and was very satisfied with it. Youngone has chicken Kiev which was swimming in garlic butter but looked appetizing and the missus had Tom Yum Goong. The total biill came to 1500b for the 3 of us including a drink each.

    I'd certainly return.

Pic is of my roast beef and a few others taken from their website which is here:- http://www.blackswanbangkok.com/

So as there were no deals going at Phachara I decided to try this place and am glad I did.

Described as a deluxe double no-smoking on Agoda. I am in the back building. Room excellent, to be honest everything seems brand new. Aircon great, shower hot, decent tv, couple of bottles of free water everyday. Universal plug sockets are a great idea, should be like that in every hotel. I don't smoke but the little balcony would be good if you bought back a ladyboy that did. I booked last minute on Agoda and got if for about 70usd per night, no breakfast. Convenience store right next door.

Walking distance to Chaos9, CIB and NEP. Unlike Phachara there is no swipe card required to use the lift which I guess reduces security but does mean that via reception a ladyboy can come direct to your room without having to go down to the lobby.

When a girl leaves they do the usual thing of calling to check everything is ok.

All in all a good stay so far. Maybe not relevant to a ladyboy forum but my cleaning lady is a total babe.

I have found I can always get a taxi outside the hotel, with the only slight annoyance being that if you are going in the Terminal 21 direction the driver has to join Sukhumvit from soi 6 going the opposite way and then U-Turn somewhere straight into a wall of stationary traffic you had just driven past going the wrong way. It is just as bad coming back as the driver has to come down soi 4, although there is always plenty of eye candy that way. But that is a downside of soi 6 in general as opposed to this hotel. If you walk to the end of soi 6 there is a foot bridge to take you across to the other side of Sukhumvit that is meters from CIB, so I would typically get a taxi from there or just hop on the BTS depending on where I am going.

Fred71 reacted to oliver17 in Grand Swiss Hotel Soi 11
Some of the photographs here were collected from the Grand Swiss website and are noted as such. The (very) amateur efforts were shot
    by Yours Truly.

LOCATION: The official address of Grand Swiss hotel is Soi 11. The actual location is on the side Soi 11/1 as indicated on the map. Soi 11/1 is primarily
a pedestrian Soi with very little vehicular traffic. Check In Bar is a 5 minute stroll away. Nana Plaza, Chaos 9 and the rest of Soi 4 are a 10-15 minute
walk depending on the bullshit clogging Sukhumvit sidewalks at any given time.

ABOUT: Grand Swiss is part of the Compass Group. Their properties include Citrus 13, Legacy Suites, Le Fenix, The Continent and several others.
Compass Hotels offer efficient and very friendly service as well as meticulously maintained properties. It is hard to go wrong booking any of
    their hotels.

NEIGHBORHOOD: Soi 11 features numerous farang-oriented restaurants and bars for every taste and budget. Taxis, tuk-tuks and scooter taxis are
readily available around the clock. Nana BTS is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel.

RATES: Basic rooms start at 2400 baht per night. Club level rooms start at 3000 baht per night. They also offer large adjoining rooms sold as
suites, but chances are you won't be taking the wife and kids on your Bangkok ladyboy trip.

    GS Website Pic

My room was a Grand Executive (club level room) located on the top 18th floor.

The bed was a tad soft for my taste, but I like rock-hard mattresses so I suspect most people will find them perfectly suitable.

A desk with good lighting will allow you to perform work efficiently.

The minibar. The Grand Swiss provides free bottled water to guests in the bathroom. However, the Evian bottled water pictured on top of
the minibar will cost you. More than once, a ladyboy mindlessly opened one of these instead of one of the free bottles and it cost me a
ridiculous 170 baht every time they did. I ended up hiding them on a shelf from the girls and telling them to open a free bottle.
Everything else in the minibar was reasonably priced by minibar standards, including the hooch.

The bathroom. Not much to say about this. The shower offers both rainshower head and hand held shower head. It also easily accomodates
2 people, allowing you to have some fun with your girl while getting clean. The only downside was a lack of adequate lighting, due to energy
saving priorities. The Grand Swiss isn't the only hotel that has this shortcoming. It seems like they all do these days.

Staying in a club room will give you exclusive access to Grand Swiss' rooftop lounge, the 180 Lounge. It can be found by walking up a flight of
stairs on the 18th floor. This place turned out to be far and away my favorite part about staying at the Grand Swiss. The 180 Lounge offers
complimentary booze from 5:30 to 7:00 every night, as well as snacks and assorted goodies throughout the day. The best part is the outdoor
seating area, which offers terrific views of Bangkok and was a fine place to watch the sunset. I took several ladyboys up here for drinks both
before and after fun in bed, and every girl absolutely loved it such as Bee from Fairy Bar.

    GS website pic

    GS website pic

After drinks at the 180 Lounge Bee tried out the bed with me for longtime fun. Grand Swiss welcomes ladyboys. NOTE: Not once did the front desk
call to verify with me when girls left to collect their IDs before leaving, which somewhat defeats the purpose of taking their IDs in the
first place. This isn't a big deal unless you bring back a freelancer to stay in your room. I am sure the front desk will call if you request
    they do so.

In conclusion, I recommend the Grand Swiss. It's location close to mongering grounds as well as restaurants and bars is a winner. The moderate
rates offer great bang-for-the-buck results. I am sure I will be staying here again on future visits. Thanks for reading my review. Any thoughts and
    comments are welcomed.

This hotel was still LB friendly when I stayed there two weeks ago.

Small room and some disturbing noise from outside but I think it's hard to find much better at 1120 per night (made the reservation on agoda at the end of March).

    Citrus Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 11

I choose this hotel asI have stayed at their sister hotel in Soi 13 a couple of times and I could not get my usual one bedroom suite at @Mind in On Nut as they had no rooms available.

The hotel itself is situated on the alley on Soi 11 that leads down on to Soi 3. It a brand new hotel that had only been open a few months.

The rooms are just slightly bigger than those on Soi 13. features..... of the room include, 32 LCD TV with multi-lingual channels, Individually Controlled Air- Conditioning, Wifi throught out that was contstant and never failed while I was there, Mini bar including condoms, tea & coffee including a kettle, in room electronic safe that could fit a large laptop. Key card electronic security and they give two cards so you can charge I pad or laptop while out and about, The walk in shower includes a rain shower.

Facilities.... Munch restaurant with a varanda for smokers. A tuk tuk that runs every half n hour, laundry service, Gym with a view of the city but no pool. I asked reception if it was ok to use the pool at Citrus Soi 13 and they rang the reception there to let them know I was on my way as they use a key card if the lift in Citrus 13 and they have a roof top pool.

The staff are very friendly and there is no joiners fee and it is ladyboy friendly

I wasn't sure where to place this thread, so it may get moved to the "Hotel Review" section. Anyhow......

A BM here recently asked about the ladyboy guest policies of a BKK hotel. This gave me the idea to email various hotels around lower Sukhumvit inquiring about their guest policies and whether ladyboys are welcome as overnight guests. The hotels I contacted are all within walking distance of Nana Plaza, CIB, Paradise bars as well as other LB venues such as Nuch Salon. I focused on hotels located on the odd number Soi side of Sukhumvit since most guys are already familiar with the policies of the hotels on the even number Soi side such as Marriott, Phachara, Heaven@4, etc.

They all received an identical email from me:

    Hello,

Can you tell me what your guest policy is? Can I have a ladyboy guest stay in my room overnight?

    Thank You,
    ******* *****

The hotels I have received replies from so far are listed in the order they responded, along with their Soi location as well as the per-night price for a standard room. I contacted places ranging from budget hotels on up to higher end properties like the Sofitel and the Westin. The replies are all verbatim. If you need clarification, their email addresses are on their websites. As they respond, I will continue to update here. I will also be emailing other hotels for the purpose of determining what their guest / ladyboy policies are as well.

I prefer Hanrahans - a real sausage and a good load of beans. But it's rather expensive compared to Bus Stop so I would say Bus Stop gives the best value for money. Don't think I will go back to Charlies for breakfast.

Breakfast is served on second floor. They make your choice of eggs/omelette on demand, toasted bread, tea and juice. Good if you wake up early feeling hungry and want a quick meal and then back to bed but otherwise I prefer the options outside.

Yes, it's Minnie but she is in the new bar at the night bazar now. Very slow at that bar area most nights the bars are pretty much empty.

I'm staying there right now. Good location, nice staff and totally guest friendly.

I'm in a deluxe room on second floor and have breakfast included but I would not recommended the breakfast option. Hot water OK, not from unit in the room. There is a small safe in the room but not big enough to fit a 13" laptop. 2000 thb/night according to hotel web site but I think it was a little bit cheaper when I made the reservation through Agoda around first week of december.

I think 800-1000 is the overnight price.

If you want a room for a ST it's 500 (unless it has changed since August)

Here is a good primer for using advanced codes with Matrix that allow you to plan routes using specific airlines or routing thru LAX or NRT or wherever:

    http://hackmytrip.com/2012/09/using-routing-language-with-ita-fare-matrix/

You can't book trips with Matrix. Instead, you print up your itenarary and either give it to a travel agent or call the airline directly. There is no way for the consumer to input the all the codes into airline websites. I use Matrix for my flights, and it has always been my experience that giving the codes to a TA is easier than trying to book codes directly with the airlines. The airlines act as if you are pulling their teeth out when you read out all those booking codes to them over the phone. TA's are happy to do it for you because you have already done all the legwork for them.

Stayed two nights at Da Bed Hotel on my last trip. To summarize I would say it delivers what I expected in this price range. Walk in price was 800 when staying for two nights, probably negotiable if staying longer. On agoda price seems to be 850.

Location close to the action: Walk down soi 4 and turn left into the alley opposite to the Ratcha parking entrance. The hotel is located on the left side at the end of that alley.

Small room. No safe in room. Old small TV, never used it but it probably works. Not the most comfortable bed but I have slept in worse. AC and hot water in shower was OK. Friendly staff and of course there is no problem bringing a guest for the night.

If you're on a tight budget this could be an option with good location.

Stayed there for a few nights last week. I agree with the positive comments made here earlier and will stay there again. Only negative was that they didn't change my towels when cleaning the room but when I pointed that out in the reception someone came to my room with fresh towels after two minutes so not a big problem.

I kind of liked that I can sit in the bed and watch my date get ready for some action.
