Citrus Suites or ParkRoyal Suites - both on soi 6

Recommended Posts

I typically always stay at the citrus suites on soi 6… a couple years ago I ventured out to the Adelphi Suites on soi 8… and though it’s a nice hotel, the rooms felt dark… there was a bit of a walk past Monsoon and the hallway to the elevator… came across lots of families that were eyeballing my LB guests lol

I am considering staying at the ParkRoyal suites (previously Phacharra)… but not sure if I wanna change things up… I like big rooms, easy access to elevator from front door, less family oriented hotel, breakfast bufffet.

anyome stayed at both spots? And can share their opinion on which they preferred and why? Thx

I was never in Royal Suites, but stayed both in Citrus Suites and Adelphi Suites. I always book a larger room: One Bedroom Suite in Adelphi and One Bedroom Executive Suite in Citrus. Both are approximately at the same price: 3200-3300 baht per night now (it was at 2500 before). Both are large (50-60 sq meters) and good for taking photos (important for me), since the walls are painted white and the furniture is in light colors. Both hotels are in the same category: 4 star hotels.

Adelphi is on Soi 8 and more easily accessible for taxis. Taxi drivers do not like to go to the Soi 6 hotels, as Citrus Suites of Park Royal, because they get stuck in the Soi 4 mess in front of Nana. Citrus and Park Royal are closer to Why Not and Nana Plaza, but the walk through Soi 6 from Adelphi is not very longer. Adelphi is closer to Check-In and Cindy's Secrets.

When you book a room in Citrus Suites, ask for a NON-LEAKING shower. Many of them are leaking and create a flood on the floor of the bathroom.

Both Adelphi and Citrus are frequented by the same clientele: half of them are families, the other half are mongers, many of them taking ladyboys. Unless you come with a ladyboy in the afternoon or early evening, you do not cross the families anyway and if it sometimes happens, you do not need to worry about it. The staff in both hotels is ladyboy-friendly and they have seen it all. However, if you had an ass-penetration accident in your room (shit happens ;) ), do not forget to give the housekeeping a tip. They are paid for standard cleaning of your room, not for cleaning of this kind of mess.

Both hotels do not enforce the LB to leave her ID / passport and the reception. However, it is for your own protection. If something happens, you have much better options if your misbehaving LB left his ID downstairs.

You have more good options for dinner on Soi 8, therefore Adelphi is a better choice in this category. Also ladyboys, at least those from Check-In and Cindy's, prefer going to Adelphi Suites.

Before I prefered to stay in Landmark, which is a 5-star upscale hotel, but they started to ask silly prices, therefore I changed to Citrus and later to Adelphi. If you want to impress your LB and you have the money, definitely go for Landmark.

Do not compare Adelphi Suites in Bangkok with Adelphi Suites in Pattaya. Adelphi Suites in Pattaya is hardly a 3-star hotel. I would consider it a 2-star hotel. I was there once and considered that I made a booking blunder. Book a room in Adelphi Suites in Pattaya ONLY IF you are on a tight budget.

Citrus Suites on both Soi 6 & 11 seem to have an Indian family and Monger fan club. There is even a lady with a travel booth doing flights

and tours open during the day. I like the Hotel, the location is great, front staff are courteous and polite and usually remember me. Normally by 10pm it's just

one staff member left on the desk, usually a very efficient young guy. I always book ahead through Agoda and often get the large suite for around  £55 a night

not including breakfast. The extra 250 baht for breakfast is worth it if you have early plans or things to do.

Used be able to pick up a suite for around 1800b, I see you mention before picking them up now at £55. (2200-2500b). Whenever I’ve looked over last 3 years never been under 3000b.
looking now for June, a deluxe room is 3900b, with suites coming in at over 4500b on agoda.
Through their website using retutnguest promo code, price is 2650b for a premier suite.

Yep, paid £55 last month.....I doubt I will get that again in February though.

I'm a bit shocked at how high prices have climbed at Citrus Suites Soi 6. I'm always in town during January and February and have typically paid about US$85 for an Executive Suite. Now they are going for close to $120.

Similar climbs in prices elsewhere, though. I did get a good price at the Mercure on Soi 11 for this January, but since my reservation prices have increased by about 30%.

i booked the usual one bedroom exec suite at citrus suites 6 for 9 days directly via their website as it allowed me to cancel up to the day before my arrival, the booking sites upcharged for cancellation options. total cost with all taxes came out to 36K baht - 4K per night... in USD, that's $117.... and yes last year it was about $85.

Citrus has better hotel amenities like restaurant and pool.

Hmmmm. The restaurant and pool are the two main reasons I stoped booking at Citrus Soi 6. The pool is tiny, has inadequate seating, and is in the shade much of the day. The restaurant is as average as average can be. I like the exec rooms just fine...lots of furniture to put to creative uses with the girls, and the showers are large enough for two to play in.
