I arrived at Dong Mueng yesterday afternoon. My plane landed at 15:25. When we arrived at the the terminal, a guy from the FastTrack immigration service was waiting for me holding a sign with my name. I followed him through the airport to the priority immigration. I got a good look at the regular que for immigration and the entire hall was full...

Using the FastTrack, I was outside the airport in under 30min, so I'd say money well spent

Next, my contact showed me to my car and off to the hotel we went. The drive was also nice and relaxing and I was at my hotel at around 16:35.

All in all, a very pleasant experience!

STD's have been around for literally thousands of years before hiv came on the scene. Almost all of them can already be cured with antibiotics, the current exception being hiv, and it's just a matter of time before it's curable too.

Ultimately, even your infection was cured wasn't it.... and don't bother bringing up all the exceptions to the rule again like with the "third man to get hiv while taking PrEP" since it's introduction in 2012 and probably close to 100,000 people taking it at this time.... and don't tell me about how safe you are wearing a condom because if you were honest you would have to admit that even condoms aren't 100% effective.

Did you wear a condom before hiv? Maybe you aren't old enough to remember those days, however I am, and I can tell you that most people didn't except for the Catholics because they couldn't take birth control pills. Getting a std was always a risk but a trip to the doctor and a jab of antibiotics took care of that, and the difference between wearing a condom and not wearing one was worth the inconvenience of the occasional jab, at least it was in my opinion.

With the development of PrEP we are pretty much back to the old days where the only thing to really worry about if you don't like condoms.... is NOT hiv, but some other std that is curable.... even Hep C is curable now.

But again, thanks for your concern.

I suggest any of the BM's who read your comments read the article and do the math! Personally, I'm good with those odds! In fact, I'm far less likely to get HIV than winning the lottery, or getting in a car crash to use your example.

After reading the article I am of the opinion that you are a "concern troll", not unlike the anti-truvada groups that see their funding going downhill due to the 99.99% efficacy of PrEP in preventing HIV infections, which cuts into their business models of an ever expanding customer base.

Nothing in life is 100% sure, except that you don't get out alive... should I be concerned?

Obviously the man in Pattaya wasn't on PrEP now was he?

Just FYI PrEP also protects intravenous drug users who share needles... certainly a more direct gateway for the virus to enter the body than any other...

I'm pretty sure as a multiple hundred time user of Don Muang airport that this only affects people using the free road. The expressway above it has its own ramp that comes out by the cargo terminal as indicated in the article. If anyone knows anymore feel free to correct my understanding, but if using the toll way, it appears nothing much if anything will change.

i pretty much do the same as Davvid these days . Check offers online then email the hotel directly with my requirements . Most times they give me a nice deal , but sometimes a few emails bounced befote final deal struck .. I don't worry about emailing for one or two nights though , just longer stays .

I work in this industry. And technically he is not wrong. By contract if the hotel allows online travel agents (agoda, expedia, booking.com, etc) to sell their rooms, neither party is allowed to reduce the stated price but they are allowed to offer extras such as free wifi, free executive lounge, free upgrade, etc. The way agoda and booking.com attract their customers is by loyalty discounts. If you are a member of either of these online travel agents and use them to book frequently, they will occasionally throw in some sort of discount. This is not breaking the contract at all because the base price of the room is the same, but because your account has been credited some sort of discount, allowing the price to be cheaper than the website.

When I book hotels, I very rarely use online travel agents and only use booking.com for price and location references. What I usually do is to email the hotel or give them a call, let them know my travel details and tell them that I will book directly with them if they give me a discount. This works occasionally because the hotel knows that if I book through an online travel agent that the hotel will have to pay 5% to 15% commision to the online travel agent depending on their agreed contract. By asking the hotel to give me a 10% discount or something of the sort, the hotel still makes more money. Ask them to throw in some more benefits like airport transfer, executive lounge, etc, and this is the reason why I always book with the hotel website.

Emirates and Etihad suspend flights to THIS country - how your flight could be affected EMIRATES and Etihad Airways have both suspended flights to Doha, as Middle Eastern nations sever diplomatic ties with Qatar.

The Middle Eastern airlines have announced the unprecedented suspension of flight services to Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Etihad and Emirates will continue a normal schedule today but as of tomorrow morning, there will be no more flights to or from the nation.

Qatar’s Doha is a well known connection point for long-haul flights from the UK.

The country’s national airline, Qatar Airways, has yet to reveal how it will operate based on the suspension.

An Etihad Airways spokesman said the Abu Dhabi airline will “suspend flights to and from Qatar on Tuesday morning…until further notice”.

The last flight from Abu Dhabi to Doha will depart at 02:45 local time on Tuesday.

Dubai-based Emirates announced its own suspension plan on its website this morning.

The significant decision comes in the wake of several Middle Eastern nations severing diplomatic ties with Qatar.

Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have all cut ties this morning with the peninsular nation.

They have collectively accused Qatar of supporting Islamist groups and the terrorist movement.

Qatar officials have argued there is “no legitimate justification" for the four countries cutting it off.

Land, sea and air contact with the Gulf state has been severed, with Bahrain blaming Qatar’s “media incitement, support for armed terrorist activities and funding linked to Iranian groups to carry out sabotage and spreading chaos in Bahrain”.

A close ally of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain is giving Qatar’s citizens 14 days to leave the country.

In contrast Bahrain and Emirates diplomats have been given only 48 hours to leave Qatar.

Egypt has cut ties after accusing the Gulf Arab state of supporting “terrorist” organisations including the Muslim Brotherhood, the country's state news agency reported.

The agency added that Qatar's policy “threatens Arab national security and sows the seeds of strife and division within Arab societies according to a deliberate plan aimed at the unity and interests of the Arab nation.”

Saudi Arabia said Qatari troops would be pulled from its continuing war in Yemen.

My first regimen - 9 pills a day affected me hard - stomach cramps, diarrhea 4-5 times a day.
After becoming UD after 3 months, switched to the so popular and convenient Atripla - unfortunately i fall into that small % of people who react bad to this med - crazy wild dreams, foggy mind, inability to think straight, moody etc. After 2 weeks of this shit i switched to Complera. Also a once-a-day regimen but it needs to be taken after food. No noticeable side affects what so ever. Finally i was pooping solid again!
Well, to be precise, there was one side affect i forgot to mention which started form the first regimen and has not gone away. As soon as i started taking
taking my cholesterol jumped to the ski - it is a known side affect. They had me on statins at first but i decided to deal with it naturally and have managed to reduce to a "borderline" level. This is a known side affect to all HIV meds. So, i wake up, have breakfast, pop my two pills (Complera is not sold as one pill in Thailand) and go on with my day. Sounds just like anyone else`s routine, right?
