I am flying EVA out of Heathrow mid September. Glad to hear PE and business are decent. I was sold when I realized the flight is nonstop.

    Air China

Actually thinking about it. I also did the Beijing la route in 2012. More recently a number of internal flights. I think the airline hasn’t changed in quality of their service offering. I think what has changed is the quality of the passengers. (God that sounds awful )

I fly a lot on them. They have PE on some of their 789 and all 777. Service is good on PE and business class. Never flew economy on them so can’t comment. in fact I am flying with them tomorrow too. PE seats are worth it because the pitch and width is good. Separate small cabin for PE. Looks like the old business class. Fairly good recline. If you need to get out obviously the best is an aisle seat in the middle row. The 777 has 2-4-2 in PE. There is a foot rest too. The Inflight Entertainment is crap though.

Best hotel in Bangkok if money is no issue.

I use to stay in the JW Marriott all the time since over 10 years ago. Great location especially for NEP just next door but marginally longer distance to walk if you wish to go to Soi 10 and 11 or that area. I last stayed there late last year and it was fine....

    Bangkok best hotel

The nicest hotel I saw mentioned in this thread is the Landmark, and it is an upscale place but it really doesn't cost much more than mid-range hotels like Mercure or Adelphi (one of my own favorites). Of course, everybody has their own budget, money certainly doesn't go on trees and it's dumb to waste your hard-earned cash. But if you are going to spend time, money and effort travelling halfway around the planet for a vacation of several weeks, you need to spend enough to make it a pleasant and trouble free experience. Nothing can make your vacation more miserable than being trapped in a crummy hotel that you chose for no other reason than to save a few baht over a nicer place.
