I would like to offer up a very good alternative for Pizza, in fact it's probably the best Italian restaurant I have been to in Thailand. It's conveniently placed in Soi Ruamrudee, which is the soi directly behind Wireles rd and a ten minute walk from the top of Soi 4/Suk rd. The restaurant is classy inside, very authentic with ornate decoration and high ceilings.....it's called Massilia.....a place to take your favourite lady! The food is truly exceptional, I had the Burrata Caprese salad to start and Lasagne for main, I finished with their own family recipe cheesecake for dessert. The owner then insisted we had a shot of the lemoncello on the house. Their Pizzas are the house speciality and looked amazing, the owner and Chef are both Italian so you really do get an authentic taste of Italy. The cost was very reasonable and inline with most lower Sukhumvit restaurants.....give it a go, I think you will like it! Check out their website and book ahead.

I took my lb wife to this place a few yrs ago . She gets on with most people. Their attitude to her and I was rude and dismissive . Never been back . Apart from a bar on walking st Pattaya and a night club in Patong we’ve never had this type of reaction in Thailand. She often gets job offers as her English is a1. So it was a bit of a shock. 

Challenge accepted! I will not rest until I bed a fair maiden from this Izakaya.

Something to note about Thonglor Yokocho that I should have mentioned due to trying (but failing) not to ramble so much in my posts here and leaving out important details as a result is that the izakaya opens properly at 17.00. Prior to 17.00 the attached curry shop is open, that's also good as are the beers but my recommendation would be to get there at 17.00 when the bar opens in the arena around the curry shop. That's when the happy hour begins runs, until 19.00. It's very popular then, especially with the drinks going so cheaply at happy hour.  I hope you guys go there and have fun. You might even spot me amongst a mountain of food and drinks.   Extra points for anyone who gets lucky with the girls working there BTW, I think they're lovely. A friend of mine managed that once which won a bet between us meaning that I paid his tabs there for a while. Luckily for me he screwed up by getting overconfident and trying it with a second waitress soon after. Now he can't go back there for a while and my debt is paid.

Never been to Yokocho either and I eat in Izakayas almost daily when in Asia. I'll defo try it out, thx!
