How does this "visa on arrival" works? 

I have my tickets LAX <> BKK mid November till mid February. I was planning 60 + 30 days extension, but looks it is not going to work anymore. I can fly to a neighboring country, but how long do I have to spend outside of Thailand in order to return? Is it something like day for a day or I can just fly to Bali and come back in a week or so?

I use a VPN every time accessing the forums and never have any issue. The location I use is always within the USA.

There is a flight that goes through Manila that offers interesting possibilities. As Bwana said, certain orange incompetents have trashed the fuel supply. Air fares could be high for a while.
