Thonglor Yokocho - that's cute - Yokocho is a 'side street' in Japanese - there are a few famous Yokochos in Tokyo lined with yakitori joints like Omeido Yokocho next to Shinjuku Train station. My favourite izakayas in Bangkok - Yuna on Soi 11/1 and Kakurega Shizuku on Soi 24. Both have Thai staff who speak Japanese. The one on Soi 24 is very traditional and frequented by many Japanese expats. I don't think either have an associated blowjob bar but further down Soi 24 is the little yokocho - Soi 24/1 which is lined with massage joints where you can get a blowjob! -
Sorry, I didn't type the full name of the Izakaya. It's called Thonglor Yakocho, amended in my previous post now. I'm currently at the airport and a bit rushed, sorry. Anyway, if you have any favourite Izakayas let me know as quite soon I'll be on the prowl in Bangkok.

Ooh, there's a thread we could start here. An Izakaya crawl through middle Sukhumvit as well as it's blowjob bars and other p4p activity. The thread would probably never get posted but it would be a lot of fun doing the research.

Nice one! I love a good izakaya. I have my favourites but looking to try new ones. thanks for this tip -
I rarely eat this type of food in Bangkok due to the heat and just generally preferring other options anyway but occasionally still feel a craving when having a few beers. Did I mention beers? I love beers so my little list will be skewed towards that. Burbrit on Sukhumvit Soi 22 is a very good little Burmese/British craft beer brewery. It's a nice pub to spend a few hours with good atmosphere and friendly staff. As well as more regular pub food including decent pizzas, burgers and Thai food they have a few Burmese options. The Burmese food is a good opportunity to try it of you hadn't and makes an excellent beer snack. My recommendation would be the tea leaf salad with pounded mutton (better than it sounds, honest). https://maps.app.goo.gl/DpStzYrJLF63Gpob6 Beer Republic near Chit Lom BTS is one of my favourite beer bars in the city. The food is generally of a high standard and the beer selection is excellent and reasonably priced too. https://maps.app.goo.gl/b9jKnYizYKHoohP77 Maybe it's just a coincidence that both my first recommendations are on the ground floor of a Holiday Inn but have any of their other outposts got quality beer bars attached too? During my mongering days hanging around Nana I always had a soft spot for the Old German Brauhaus. The beers were good and the food was reliable and typically substantial German beer house food. The girls who have accompanied me there seemed to enjoy the Thai food as well. https://maps.app.goo.gl/jyXiAH2P84BAZMbW8 Edit: if anyone likes this kind of German place I recently found a much better option called Ratsstube in Sathorn Soi 1, near Lumphini park. It was really excellent but personally I find the Bangkok weather too warm to eat this type of food often. I'm going to sneak in one recommendation that isn't a pub but is a Japanese Izakaya instead? I feel that's not too far away really, some Izakayas are more like restaurants and some are more like bars, this one is definitely option 2 but with some very good food too. Thonglor Yakocho Izakaya is a lovely spot for an evening where a few beers and a bite to eat can turn rowdy. The atmosphere is excellent, helped by a very generous happy hour (3 for the price of 1), regular drinks promotions, quality beers, some very cute staff who are a lot of fun and plenty of games with opportunities to win even more drinks. Apart from the drinking, and there is plenty of that the food can be delicious but isn't the fancy end of Japanese food. The house speciality is the Hokkaido soup curry, I'd recommend that highly. It's very customisable and perfect with a few drinks. I also like the grilled dishes, gyoza and pretty much everything. Go in a group if possible as this food is perfect for sharing, as are some of the drinks. This would be a good recommendation for a date too, bargirls would also like it with the lively atmosphere and Japanese food. It's far from being the best Japanese restaurant in the neighborhood (very strong competition in Thonglor) but it's probably the most fun and is a regular for me early in the evening, sometimes for a meal and sometimes just a snack with some drinks. https://maps.app.goo.gl/7BAUCjv3uS4unX84A One final recommendation would be Mikkeller. It's a very nice craft beer bar in a quiet street in Ekkamai set in a very pleasant garden. The beer selection is excellent (not the cheapest but high quality) and the same goes for the food. Well worth a trip if you're out in Ekkamai which is one of my favourite drinking neighborhoods in Bangkok. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Co4PETvdHZHxD7eR7
