    • I don't know much about Grande Centre Point hotels, but can comment on the other hotels you've mentioned. The Grand Hyatt fits the bill for R&R without being too far from the action and is in a very nice area. I didn't bring back any guests when I stayed there but you would have no problem or judgement if you did. Both the Hyatt Regency and Sofitel are excellent hotels that are almost next door with all the facilities you need, but Sukhumvit can be chaotic although very close to the main LB bars. Mercure is a solid choice for the convenience of Soi 11 but it's a distinct step down in terms of quality. I'm sure others can comment on whether Gande Centre Point is a good place to stay but from my experience the Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency and Sofitel can give you R&R and convenience. There are plenty of YouTube reviews on all of the hotels to help make your choice.
    • Hi, I am planning a trip to BKK from around Oct 10th to Oct 20th - mostly for r&r, including afternoon and night time escapades. I have previously stayed in The Standard and thought it was great, albeit quite a distance to Soi 4 and the surrounds. However, it has doubled in price as of tady. I have found these two Grande Centre Point hotels and I wondered if anyone had used them and could comment? Ideally I would like somewhere good quality, with a gym and pool, reasonably quiet, with a decent breakfast and open to guests without questions. Willing to spend up to BHT5000 per night. I have read reviews on here of the Sofitel, mercure, grand Hyatt etc, for which many thanks. Just looking for an up to date pointer on a few options - thanks in advance. Very much up to meet up when I am there - i'm 58, Brit and a relative newcomer to this secret world!
    • Soi 17 ... that's walking distance for sure! Thanks for the info @Bwana_LB. Next trip I'll go check it out. The tunabasco looks very appealing to me and a good cappuccino is never a punishment
    • BTW, here's the link to their website. A friend tells me the Asok location, which is much closer than the original location I've been visiting to my hotel on Soi 11, is more spacious and much quieter, https://www.bartelsinternational.com
    • They better be on time. Otherwise, I postponed my trip for nothing
