LeFenix Soi 11 (updated 2014)

Recommended Posts

I chose LeFenix based on a recommendation from One True Saxon's review. I've followed several of his hotel recommendations and found them spot on. LeFenix was no different and thought it deserved having it's own thread. If your looking for LB friendly places to stay near Nana then check out his Hotel review thread.

http://www.bangkokladyboys.net/forum/index.php?/topic/2785-otss-hotel-reviews/

I'll repost OTS review from his review thread here:

Le Fenix Sukhumvit is a fun little hotel in Bangkok

I have only stayed here the once back in February 2009 and I liked the hotel a lot, though I should think about using it again

I always recommend to those who love clubs and bars.So it's a convenient hotel with no joiner fees if you choose to take a bar girl or freelancer back to your room. The reception is on the first floor and their is a lift in the car park that takes you straight up using your key card. Or if you wish you can go via reception

The place is designed in line with club and party minded guests. There is a decent roof top bar on the top floor called the Nest and even though the building is 8 stories tall you still get a decent view of the surrounding area. I went a each night but on the last night gave it a miss, As I swear that's were the mozzies bit me all down my arms, while lying sipping cocktails on one of the beds.

There's a small swimming pool and gym. A free tuk tuk ride to the BTS Nana station which is right in front of Sukhumvit Soi 11. Though the biggest perks is you get free entrance to Q Bar and Bed Supperclub (only during non-special events). Normally you'd have to pay 500THB to 700THB entry free just to get in to both clubs. And you also get 20% off for food at Bed Supperclub so it pays to be a hotel guest at Le Fenix.

The hotel is located a little ways down on Suk Soi 11. About 300 meters and right across from Q Bar. So it's easy to find.

Though if you find the walk a little bit too far, the hotel does provide tuk tuk service to take you to the entrance of Sukhumvit road. And right in front is the BTS Nana station.

And the location is an ideal point for visiting Soi Cowboy or Nana go go bars. Because it's right in between the two red light districts. So you can walk to either one in about 10 minutes.

As I mentioned earlier you book a standard or superior room for about 1400THB through Agoda.com. It's not a bad price at all for a 3 star hotel in the middle of everything a single guy could need.

And it's a guest friendly hotel right on Sukhumvit so no problems with inviting bar girls or freelancers to a room there. Here's the email confirmation below for your reference:.

The only annoying problem I had was the light in the wardrobe would not go out when you shut the doors. most honest hotel I have stayed. I forgot to shut the safe door one morning and when I arrived back at the hotel, Their was a note saying to go to reception. They went up to the room opened the safe, as the cleaning staff told them it was open so they set it back to reset. I checked and everything was in order. Big tip for cleaning staff when I left as well as recption.

I stayed there in November 2012 and would definitely stay there again. I can't add much to what OTS has written about it. Three years later and everything he has said remains the same I think. I forgot about the Tuk tuk service he mentioned and didn't check that or see it, but I rarely got out. I also didn't get to take advantage of the club discounts he mentioned, so not sure if they are still doing that.

I did go to the rooftop bar called "The Nest". It's really a cool bar with these great bed type lounges that would be great to share with your favorite ladyboy. Only problem is there are only 5 or 6 of them and they were all spoken for. They even have live music, but it starts late (Midnight) for some reason.

They had plenty of other comfortable seating. I took Bee from Temptations on a ST date so we couldn't stay for the band. I did manage to get a couple photos of her. I was trying to get the backdrop of the BKK skyline of buildings.

The rooms were good value I thought. While I was there I mentioned I was staying there to OTS and he noted that some escort sites use LeFenix rooms for shooting there promo shots. You can really see why when staying there. The backdrop in the rooms are all light colors. The floor is white marble, The walls are light colors, the bathroom is white and light colored tiling. Even the curtains are light.

I was delighted that it had a shower with glass doors. Great for shower shots.

In fact the set up was very similar to Heaven@4 deluxe rooms. LeFenix was a bit more spacious with more room on each side of the bed.

Models not included.

As mentioned it's LB friendly. Kind of a strange set up. The gurl gives the under cover parking guy their ID and then they pick it up on the 2nd floor reception. I noticed sometimes they get so busy downstairs that you can cruise by with your date if you choose.

It's really not that bad of walk to Nana or Soi Cowboy, however you wouldn't want to march your date back to the loom with slut heals on. As mentioned it's a little ways down Soi 11. There is also some FL action to be found, mostly around a alcocart mobile bar.

Overall I give LeFenix the thumbs up. I most likely will stay there again for a few days and try something new on my next trip. I think the cost was about $52 AUD a night.

It did cross my mind to stay here when we got back from Hua Hin but I found it to close to Nana for Michelle who was fed up of being mistaken for a p4p LB so ended up in soi 20 out of the way.

I would consider staying here again though if on my own.

This is my second stay at LeFenix which I based on having my terak with me. I wanted to utilize the Nest night club and maybe hit some others in the area.

The Nest which I mentioned before here has live music late so it was a perfect place to go after some cheap drinks at CIB. the drinks at the Nest are not cheap. Had a 4 member band playing pop music mostly. Some old and new songs. Lead singer was a Thai female who my gurl called old. We had a pretty good view from one of the four beds. There was a photographer that kept getting in the way. We stayed for two sets and had 3 beers and an order of french fries which came to 591 baht.

I wasn't able to charge it to the room but was able to put it on credit card. The atmosphere was great. Some tables were smoking the sheesha pipe which seems to be catching on everywhere. Very romantic. I even started singing the words to dancing queen to my gurl singing "only 17......she is the dancing queen. The next verse she sang only 70 he is the dancing queen to me.

This time I booked a superior room, which really doesn't include anything more than just city views, and DVD player and breakfast was included for about $7 USD a night more. I actually got up for the breakfast on each morning since I wasn't having as late of nights with my gurl back from Isan. The breakfast buffet looks bigger than it actually is but you won't find bacon or eggs the way you like unless you like runny as scrambled or a cold Thai omlette. You can order your eggs and bacon from a staff member who may or may not be available depending what time you go. It's a comfortable large dining area. Apple and Orange Juice are available as well as newspapers.

Make sure to hang out you don't disturb sign or you will have cleaning staff, peron coming to ask if you want laundry done, and mini bar refills. I had my mini bar emptied just to make room for stuff I really wanted and to avoid any false charges like I had at i check inn before moving here.

Overall good value. A little further away from where I like to hang out, but you can get a LeFenix Tuk Tuk take you to Nana station up until 8 P.M.

I've also noticed more things popping up on Soi 11 and foremost being the Volkswagon convy buses turned into alcocarts. There must be a dozen of them now from LeFenix all the way down to Sukhumvit. Even a mobile currency exchange in one.

As far as I'm aware Bed Supperclub closed its door for good as of last October. Most of the staff, including some of the DJ's, are now working at Ocean Bangkok in soi 33 ( formerly Livingstone's Lodge).

Yea it closed its doors August 31st. I meant to go as I arrived on the 29th August. But never got there in the end. I am not 100% certain but they have something to do with a place on soi 16 and I think they called it the Rooftop space or something similar. I do know they are looking to relocate another Bed & Supper.

Yes, doors are shut and a bunch of furniture and junk outside. Siam Missus noted hotel go there and she is probably correct on that one.

I didn't get to try out the pool like I wanted to as my suit stayed in dry dock. I just called down for late check out and found I can stay till 2 P.M. without a charge which is perfect for me for my flight times. Taking the LeFenix shuttle to Nana station and train to Airport. Really liking this place and Soi 11.

I was uploading this video that I took at the Nest located on the roof at the Lefenix. this was a Thai band singing.

After I finished I saw this remarkable video of Radiohead playing live at The Nest June 7th, 2012.

It's reasonable for the price...paid for bed and breakfast but never up in time for the breakfast so can't comment on the food.Took a girl back to the Nest....drinks expensive there.

One thing that got me was when cleaners came in and did the floor clean, they never seemed to get rid of the stains already on the floor when mopping ( a dry mop which seemed pointless to me) from what must have been there a while. I actually got a wet towel to see if they would clean and they did.

At end of the day, it's a casual 10 mins walk to CIB, bed is comfy and room has a safe. So if not too particular and 'snobby' it's ok. Been in a worse places with bug ridden beds and so on...rating...3 outta 5

Hav stayed here 300+ nights since the opening in 2007. Always book Superior room here since they book huge Indian groups. But the last stay Indians at my floor used the hallway as their living room at all hours of the night, loud and rude, lots of quarreling. So changed hotel and only used it as short time room since prepaid. Staff who have been there long time quitting now because of the Indians.

I will sadly never stay here again.
