Never been asked by immigration for a return ticket, even when arriving on a one way.  The issue I have had is at check-in they almost always want to see a flight out of the country if you are on a one way.    Some check in agents will flat out refuse to check you in with out this.
However there is a 'hack' (sorry, I hate this expression) that you can use:
In the US, the DOT have a rule that all travel agents must offer passengers a 24 hour penalty free cancellation period when booking a flight, even restricted/non refundable ones.  The only exception is that this does not apply to budget airlines.   So, go to any US based online travel agent e.g. expedia, priceline etc (it must be the US based one, not the local one that the site sometimes redirects you to).  Search for any one way flight out of thailand to somewhere nearby like HCMC, KL etc.  Look for one of the normal airlines (not budget like air asia) and you will usually see a indication that the flight offers free cancelation within 24 hours.    Book it as close to check in time as you can.  If asked, show them the ticket (they can even search it and will see it is a valid issued ticket).  In theory, you could cancel it right after check in, but i normally wait until i have cleared immigration in Thailand (or where ever im travelling).   Ive screenshot an example below.

This has never failed to work and the money is usually reverted back to my card in a day or two.

I have entered before on a one-way ticket and wasn't asked anything. But i had a onward ticket if needed.
The immigration officer may ask, but it is more likely being asked by your airline when you are checking in for your flight. They can ask for proof of onward travel and deny boarding because ultimately if you run into trouble entering Thailand they will be responsible for bringing you back.

This must be a fairly new build…everything looks pretty fresh and clean.
Got to my room. They are quite small, but fairly well laid out.  Downsides are that it has a mini bar with regular exorbitant hotel prices.  I’d much rather an empty fridge and I’d stock it myself.  It also only has one drawer and that’s located in the bathroom by the clothes closet.  So storage is almost non existent.  I’ve kept most of my crap in my suitcases and littered the tv stand with the rest. It’s also quite dark in the bathroom.  Aside from those things it’s fine.  Lots of electrical sockets and has modern hookups for the TV if you want to hook up your streaming gear.  I don’t know how good the wifi would be for that though.
I figured I didn’t get an upgrade, but it turns out I did.  All the room’s except the suites are the same size.  My room was considered an upgrade because it has a good view. Half of the rooms have a totally obstructed view because there is a condo very near to it on one side.

Just sharing my thoughts of the hotel.
Location is excellent on sukhumvit soi 11. Staff was very friendly and gave a nice welcome. Kinnaree restaurant is part of the hotel which is open 24/7, hotel also have a travel agency inside. I booked the grand suite room. Room itself was spacious. Everything outdated, aircon wasnt that great as well. The bed was a major issue. Mattress way too hard. It felt like sleeping on the floor. Not sure if it was just my bed or all beds are the same? I did ask the staff, but they said its normal. No problem to bring guest to the room. No joiner fee. Security will ask for ID, and have the guest sign a document.
I had 2 nights booked, but checked out after one night. I just couldnt sleep well because of the bed. Bed is perfect for having sex on though, if that's something to have in consideration.
There are so many hotels in Bangkok with good value for the money, for me this was not one of them. If someone have considered staying here, and dont like beds that are too hard then maybe this is some good advice to reconsider.

When I was in Bangkok back in July, I visited Soi Thaniya in Silom, which is only 300 meters down from Patpong Road. Amazing how many times I had been to Patpong but didn't know about this place they refer to as 'Little Tokyo' or 'Little Japan' due to the entire street being lined with awesome Japanese restaurants, from Japanese BBQ, sushi, ramen shops and plenty of others. An entrance to BTS SkyTrain Sala Daeng station is just on the corner of Soi Thaniya.
I just visited during the day for lunch but heard it is lit up like the streets of Tokyo at night. I just had a ramen noodle soup at a restaurant called Uchidaya Ramen. 270 baht for their Kyushu Tonkotsu 'Special' ramen. Best ramen I have ever eaten!
If you love Japanese food then put this on your list of places to visit in Bangkok. Go there for dinner, then head down to Patpong to pick up your dessert.
They do have some girlie bars here, located in the top floors above the restaurants at street level. I heard they are very much like the 'hostess bars in Tokyo'. These places cater to Japanese business men. I heard like in Japan, they pay a fee for a girl to sit with them and laugh at their jokes, tell them how wonderful they are and pour their drinks. I been to a few hostess bars in Tokyo and never saw the point of them as you can't bar fine the girls there in Tokyo but I believe you can bar fine the ones in Bangkok but at ridiculous Japanese prices, something like 5000 - 6000 Baht. Screw that! Get down to Patpong to pick up what you fancy for the night, GG or LB at proper Bangkok prices.
Definitely worth a visit if you love Japanese food.

kifd reacted to oliver17 in ASAI Bangkok Chinatown
I don't know about the hotel, but that won't be your real problem if you are taking girls from Sukhumvit area.  Many LBs will frown on traveling all the way to Chinatown, particularly for short time. When they leave your room, they will request an absurd amount of "taxi money" and God help ya' if you disagree with the figure they want.
You may be better off just using a short time room in Sukhumvit. If you don't like short time rooms, you can book a budget hotel room at Heaven @4 or wherever for a few nights to be used for your mongering activities and then return to your "real" hotel room in Chinatown at the end of the evening or the next day.

    Hey lads,
Just landed in the LOS and wanted to get myself tested/hep vaxed/PReP ready. From what I read up on here Pulse seems to be the go to recommendation, but a lot of their prices seemed really high. I searched the local area and Bangkok Safe Clinic (https://www.bangkoksafeclinic.com/) popped up. Pretty easy reservation process on the website, but honestly I showed up almost an hour early and there was nearly 0 wait.
Total bill out the door for PReP lab, Anti-HCV test, consult, Hep B vaccine 1 (it was 900 and you need 3 for the full course), and the premium PReP brand Descovy was 7,200. The Descovy was 2,800, but they had other brands for much cheaper (I think one was 1,000?). I'm not going to be out here for super long anyway, and from what I read the Descovy has a lower chance of bone/kidney side effects. Seemed worth it to be, but cheap mongers could def opt for less.
Anyway, easy to recommend the place. Service was fast and friendly, appointment was easy, and outside of probably the Red Cross or a hospital I don't think you'll get the full service much cheaper anywhere else.
