LB Punter 15 #1 Posted November 27, 2010 Is there a cheap and reliable clinic where BMs living in Bangkok go to get a regular check-up? I am considering getting a check-up in Bangkok assuming it would be cheaper than elsewhere so any recommendations would be helpful. 3 jimmiewr3, anniehg4 and JohnnyLics reacted to this
Trenton42 51 #2 Posted November 27, 2010 I recommend BNH Hospital near Silom: http://www.bnhhospital.com Less expensive that Bumrungraad, and it won't be a problem if one doesn't speak Thai.

bkkladyboy 447 #4 Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) if i may add to this important thread >>> for people who have a lot of time (1 week or more depending on what they do or do not find and any further testing they will recommend.) i suggest that you also try this place: Bang Rak Hospital STI Clinic 189 Sathon Tai Yannawa, Sathon, Bangkok 10500, Thailand 02-2860431 this is a govt hospital that is a major part of all the international STD programs for Thailand, especially HIV/Aides. they were one of the first in Asia to sign on to the International effort to figure all this out and that is all they do there. i have been several times for my periodic check-ups. very friendly, very matter of fact, and no bs or attitude was ever expressed to me on either visit. they will check everything. NOTE: the posters on the walls of this place may have you grabbing your junk and running for the hills. very graphic depictions of what STDs can do when they ravage your body. these STD posters make the pictures on the cigarette packs look appealing. but at least you will know what you are up against the next time you get naked and start thinking about stabbing the black peanut BB. these people conduct the most thorough tests known to the medical profession anywhere. they have always been in the forefront of the cause to reduce STDs. they are also very inexpensive as it is mainly a place for Thais. take the BTS to Chong Nonsi Station on the Silom line. as shown in the map below. if you call them simply ask for an English speaker if one does not answer the phone. DonqyJon 53 #5 Posted February 14, 2011 Sorry if this is the wrong thread, but hey, whisky's talking now. Just went to a clinic in my home town of Bristol last week for a general screening, my first in 2 years. It was damned awkward explaining to the very attractive asian lady doctor about the number of sexual partners I had in Thailand, their sex, and the circumstances. It felt so bad when you say "yeah I had paid sex with x GGs and x males" (for some reason, I didn't expand to her about them being LBs). When in LOS, it just doesn't feel bad/seedy like when you say it to an attractive lady. Was referred to a counsellor while waiting for blood tests, and maybe the fact that he was gay (I think) and not a stunning lady, I felt quite happy discussing the LBs, condom choice for anal, blowjobs etc. Stupid and double standards on my part I know. I have in the past been willing to take a chance with the occasional GG when I haven't got on with the condom (I have no issue without it for some reason), and although the last 2 were not classic 'sex workers' - one was from a bar off Sukkhumvit but not working there, the other a massage girl - it's still one hell of a lottery to be playing. From now on, I'll be sure to have a Cialis/Kamagra backup to hand, rather than take the risk. Occasionally the urge to bareback with a LB has been sorely tempting, but I've managed to abstain so far. I guess after years of marriage it may feel more natural not to use condom, but just like giving up smoking, it's changing the mindset for the benefit of one's health. I have been at BNH several times: Hearing test Lab work for blood clotting serum 2x year PSA test (for last six years, following radical prostatectomy(in USA) 5 years ago. ER room visit for chronic diarreah All times were done to above-Western standards and, from USA perspective, cheap. BTS to Silom, walk down Convent Road. Hows their English at the hospital? Is the STI Clinic a sub-section of the hospital? If so, wheres it located? About three weeks ago, went to BNH complaining of Urethritis and wanting an HSV test. The urologist just refused the HSV test request saying that HSV testing in Thailand was unreliable. I wasnt completely surprised because Id heard the same thing at Rangsit General Hospital and Thammasat University. When I pressed him on it, he said, In Thailand its complicated. I paid 1,100 THB for that meeting (700 for the doctor, 200 for the nurse, and 200 for lab work). Leaving BNH, I thought to give Bumrungraad a shot. The urologist there also refused saying HSV testing in Thailand was unreliable. Although I had heard that before, I figured if anyone did the testing in LOS, it would be BNH or Bumrungraad. Anyway, paid 1,750 THB for the visit, but dont have the breakdown. Gotta go back to BNH to get the lab work results on Monday. Depending on the outcome, may give Bang Rak a visit sooner rather than later. Either way, Bang Rak Hospital, STI Clinic does indeed sound like a good place to go. +1 for that! Dbow 1 #10 Posted January 10, 2012 I went to BNH Hospital at Silom for STD testing this morning, the doctor (a really nice old fellow) examined me and suggested that I should take a good flush of Antibiotics instead and gave me a bottle of Azithromycin based antibiotics to kill possible gonorrhea and chlamydia infections. (He said exactly what you guys are saying here, oral is relatively safe.) BNH service was way above excellent, they were fast, really polite with an OK level of english. All together I paid 1825 baht for the examination, nurse and medication and it took about a bit more than an hour. I would honestly recommend their service, it was very efficient, clean and professional! db 1 Thanks reacted to this
bkkladyboy 447 #11 Posted April 20, 2012 i went to the STI clinic again for the regular tests, all of them. i took some pics to make it easy for BMs to find the place and navigate the process a bit easier. i put it all on a PDF file so you can download it and print if you like. the link is below in the attachments area. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat software program to view this type of document you may download the free Adobe Reader software from the official Adobe Website here: http://get.adobe.com.../otherversions/ if i may add to this important thread >>> for people who have a lot of time (1 week or more depending on what they do or do not find and any further testing they will recommend.) i suggest that you also try this place: Bang Rak Hospital STI Clinic 189 Sathon Tai Yannawa, Sathon, Bangkok 10500, Thailand 02-2860431 this is a govt hospital that is a major part of all the international STD programs for Thailand, especially HIV/Aides. they were one of the first in Asia to sign on to the International effort to figure all this out and that is all they do there. i have been several times for my periodic check-ups. very friendly, very matter of fact, and no bs or attitude was ever expressed to me on either visit. they will check everything.
