I'm thinking of doing something different this time by heading to the nightclubs after barfining a few girls or ladyboys for the rest of the night.

Normally I would either go straight to the hotel and get food from Grab if we're both a bit hungry but I feel I want to stay out alot later than I usually do.
I do also head to another ladyboy bar but I find the atmosphere is a bit different as the ladies don't interact as much (I guess if you've barfined someone else from another bar, they steer clear of you and your companion)

I'm thinking of trying the nightclubs like Levels and Sugar Club on Soi 11 and wanted to ask for most of these clubs, do you have to buy a bottle to get a table?
I don't mind the entrance fees but paying close to 4000 baht for a bottle is pricey just for a table.

If there's any other activities or bars or restaurants near the ladyboy bars like Havana Social, let me know.

If you are there during the peak season, it is quite likely you'll be asked to buy a bottle & thereby get a ''reserved'' table.

I stayed there back in 2019. As seen on pics below with Pao & JJ, they are 100% ladyboy friendly and you can take more than one ladyboy to your room with no questions asked.

It has a funky steampunk decor that I liked but it may not be everybody's taste. The overall vibe is almost seedy, but the property is spotless and  the rooms are very comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable for a mid-priced BKK hotel. It has no pool. The bar / restaurant serves cold beer and pub food on the front patio but there are better dining options right around the corner at Terminal 21 which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The side soi it's located on between soi 19 and Asok is pretty quiet. Directly across the street is an exotic car dealer who has Ferraris, McLarens and Bentleys on display. At the intersection of the Fusion Suites soi and soi 19 is a laundry. They're good but as I recall they do not offer same day service. I don't know if there are other laundries in the area.

    Thanks @oliver17

Feedback is reassuring, yeah, its on an off-cut alley & appears a tad secluded. Might book the premier suites for a couple of nights. 5-7 minutes moto ride from either Cindy's or CIB.

  3. Anyone stayed at the Fusion Suites (Sukhumvit-soi-21), located in an off-cut alley between soi -15 & Asok MRT. Is it joiner friendly, incl ladyboys?.

Currently, some of their bigger suites on pretty decent price on Agoda.

Well I checked out Maxims Inn on google earth. Not impressed, so bit the bullet and booked at my 1st choice, Grand Business Inn, Soi 11. Got a grand suite for 7800 baht for 4 nights. More than my scottish heritage would normally allow, but I like the location, the staff are great and the room I booked is large. More than enough to impress the CIB girls.

Strangely the Grand suite was the same price as the smaller room.

I have 4 nights for the first spell and 3 more when I return after visiting Pattaya.

I do like the look on the front desk staff's face when I turn up with different girls each night. As that old advert said, "priceless".

The other benefit is that I can get my tasty 99 baht burgers on the corner about 50 meters away!.

Did you book with Agoda?, they generally have a cash-back offer which ultimately reduces the final price by another 700-1000 baht. Cash-back is released after 60 days of check out.

Looking to book a not expensive hotel between Sois 7 and 11 approx. I dont believe in paying big money for a room. Would rather use it on the girls. Thats coming from someone who has stayed in probably the top hotel in the world. Well it was when I stayed in it. Horses for courses!

I stayed in Grand Business Inn last time in Soi 11 and it was more than good enough to shag girls in, but the price has gone way up. About 60% more this coming May than it was in November.

Last time I got the grand suite for peanuts. Really good staff there as well.

Check out Hotel Salil on soi 11, usually cheaper rates on Agoda.

Immigration lines can be a real lottery.

I think it depends on not the time of day you arrive, but on how many planes are arriving at that time.

Precisely, specially if concurrent flights arriving from East Asia/Sub-continent & now after China's reopening.

  7. Thanks for the in-depth review, you do paint a picture apart from the snaps you added. Soi 11, does get incredibly busy during the peak business hours, crossing that narrow stretch can be quite difficult. The Thai street food arcade serves well into the night as well, a bonus for finding late night nibbles.

As you say, lot many FLs/bar girls hanging around the soi, possibly available for pick-up even late into the night, I suppose. Will look for a ST opportunity next time am there, as my flight lands pretty late in the night at BKK.

Yeah sure ... try Bobo (near BTS Nana) or Mixx (near BTS Chit Lom). Or Candy Club or Sugar Club in Soi 11. Looks like Insanity didn't make it after Covid, place still closed.

Insanity got hit with I think a five year ban for opening during Covid lockdowns/drug use.

I’d add Levels on soi 11 to the list above, it’s very close to sugar and candy club.

Penny Black on soi cowboy is a good after hours spot as well.  Pack as shit though and heaps and heaps of freelancers

By the way Mixx fucking stinks of mould, they need to clean the place.  For me it’s a total turn off, I couldn’t wait to get out of the place.

Good topic & thanks for these recommendations.

In Pattaya, nightclubs remain open even beyond the current closing time of 2 AM, occasionally the music volume is lowered to avoid police intervention, but they carry on after a while, regardless.

In your experiences, what's been the situation like in BKK. Do they more strictly adhere to the closing mandate.

Not much sense being a nightclub/after hours club, if they shut too along with the rest of the entertainment zones.

For Thai food, I'd recommend Suda.

It's in a little side road opposite Terminal 21, very reasonably priced. Always a bit of a "TripAdvisor darling" type of place. Like most places, they were on their arse during the pandemic but starting to pick up again now. I remember going there to eat in 2020 just after restaurants had been allowed to reopen again and the owner and staff were so happy to see me, like they hadn't seen a customer in a while. Very popular with tourists, but not so much the locals.

Okay, I have seen this place while on a stroll from CIB, reasonably busy too. However, think it closes a tad too early (my perception), went back to try it & was shutters down.

Hopeland hotel on soi 8 is where I have booked the rooms look really nice and are quite large with a balcony/bath and half the cost of Landmark. can't say if they are as good as they look on the site as it will be my first time staying there but I think for the price it seems like a good choice.

Am assuming its okay with overnight LB joiners?

I have never seen anyone carrying or displaying a Nazi flag in this country, much less "plenty of people" marching on the streets doing so. Oh sure, cable "news" networks love taking some tiny and extreme example of American life and depicting as typical, but that's because peddling bullshit sensationalism is their business.

Anybody who does something as dumb as parading around as a Nazi either has his head bashed in by bystanders or ends up publicly identified, and then loses his job, is doxxed etc. It's a very unpleasant existence for Nazi or Confederacy enthusiasts after they out themselves and they deserve it.

In a country of 320,000,000 people, of course there are some clowns who display offensive symbols or say offensive things. They are allowed to do that because of the first amendment of the US Constitution that guarantees freedom of speech. The first amendment also guarantees the right of other people to loudly oppose them, shout them down and that's exactly what happens in the case of Nazis and the like. That's the beauty of the first amendment. Anybody can say anything but nobody has the last word.

    "Plenty of people?" Sorry.

Now, unlike Oliver I've seen these assholes. I lived in Charlottesville. But they got their asses handed to them, verbally by counter-protestors and legally by the courts.

All I said was, Laos to my knowledge didn't have any skin in the game (Nazis vs Allies), the US certainly did.

Seems it's easy to be condescending towards a semi impoverished SEA nation, when in most cases it's pure ignorance on their part.

Thats just… wrong. I get the swastika has more meanings than just nazi propaganda but to exhibit it like this on a flag is just bad taste.

Well, am not so sure if Laos fought the Nazis in WW-II but USA sure did & yet plenty of people in the US march on the streets carrying this emblem on a flag.

  13. Other than CIB, soi 10 in general looks very desolate, probably very limited food/snacks options too. I know some like the quiet but I guess it would get boring very quickly say as compared to soi 8 or 11.

  14. I have traveled on the BTS Sky-train a fair few times, be it the Sukhumvit or Silom line, very convenient for some of the major hot spots. On the other hand have never actually used to Bangkok MRT underground service.

Hence this silly question, as I look at the MRT map it shows me that the blue line (seems to be the main arterial line) is kind of a loop, crossing the river twice.

What I want to know is whether the train lines move in a singular direction or there are lines in the opposite direction too.

Looking at the map I can understand, for example that I can go to Silom/Lumpini or any other station in that direction from Sukhumvit but can I travel in the reverse direction too, i.e from Silom to Sukhumvit or do the trains move one direction only going all the way across the river & then looping back from the northern end of the city touching stations like Bang Sue/Lad Phrao etc etc.

Kind of a silly question but TIT.

I was out during the day and come back for the evening. That's why I was not able to get to cib. Too many of them right in front. Lots.

Especially when you cross soi15 towards Nana there are lots in front of the Sofitel. Around 10 to 15 and in the area around 20 or so.

Great hotel and I hope they don't jack up the prices soon.

Did your room have a big ass mirror awkwardly placed, mine did, found it very odd. Stubbed my toe one night after a drunken binge at CIB.

I'm booked with Mercure Soi 11. Process has been really good so far. My flight has been changed a few times and each time they quickly changed the hotel confirmation document. I  used Wise (Transferwise) to transfer the money to their account. Got my Thailand Pass already so they are good at confirming your booking as well.

This booking is under the new process rules?, Day-1+Day-5?, did you book both days at Mercure
