  1. Searching for "ladyboy bar" in Bangkok I keep getting results for a place on Phetkasem 47, between Bang Wa and Bang Khae, on the western outskirts of Krung Thep, close to MRT station Lak Song. Google Plus Code:

    PC66+7H Bangkok, Thailand

Looks like a restaurant to me... but with mostly ladyboys:

Is this some kind of ladyboy restaurant or ladyboy meeting point?

  2. "Artbox on Sukhumvit soi 10 / the land also known as Chuwit Park has proven to be popular over the past year, and managed to open before Bangkok came out of lock-down. The vendors operating at Artbox have 6-month contracts, a clear sign it is all very temporary. There have been a lot of rumours about what will happen on that piece of land and word broke this week that a giant office tower and hotel will go up. To be called The Edition Hotel Bangkok, it will be 51 storeys and dwarf most buildings in the area. Artbox will be around for a little while yet…so enjoy it while you can."

And if you fly back to MUC next time you don't have to go into a 14 day quarantine anymore, says the German ambassador in BKK:

Guess other countries will soon follow suit...

...and in case you miss your scheduled flight from BKK to MUC, you could inquire if there's a seat available on the Thai Air Force Boeing 737, registration HS-HMK (a.k.a. "Victor Mike")

More I won't say as that would be against the forum rules...

Hi guys. I do not understand why I cannot see any of the pictures posted by Thanks, on any of the topics on which he posts. I tried with Firefox and Explorer and the pictures do not appear on either. I would appreciate recommendations.

Congratulations on your first post since you've joined the forum in 2013...

There could be a variety of reasons for this to happen, for example

    - the image URL link has expired,

    - the linked picture was taken private or deleted by the person who originally uploaded it,

    - your browser and/ or general security settings don't allow external content,

    ...

Try Chrome browser if you're using an Android device or Safari if your an Apple guy...

For Firefox browser help see for example:

That didn't last long according to Stickman:

"The fun had resumed at Art Box next to Sukhumvit soi 12 and the crowds were back. It felt just like pre-Covid19 with vendors doing a good trade selling food and drinks. The party was back!

But then some jealous sod complained to the police and that was the end of alcohol being sold – and the end of the fun and revelry – at Art Box for the time being."

  6. Thai Airways apparently intends to file for bankruptcy protection which would imply a restructuring of the flag carrier. Guess that process won't be "smooth as silk"...

I don't know if bankruptcy protection in Thailand can be compared to Chapter 11 of Title 11 of the US Code for example.

  7. Instead of embedding a Facebook video manually, you can also let the forum software do the whole job. You just have to copy the video link address and paste it into the standard (WYSIWYG) editor here. To find the video address you can right click on the video, click on "display video URL", copy the video URL (video address) and paste it here. Hit enter and the forum software should do its magic...

Depending on your browser, app, device and operating system this option to find the video URL may or may not work.

If it doesn't work, you can try the following: Go to the desktop version of FB (either by using a PC or by removing the "m" in front of the website address in your mobile browser) and click on the three dots on the upper right hand corner of the post. This should open a menu with the option to copy the link. Do this and paste the link here in the forum editor, hit enter, and wait a second or two before the video shows up.

Video embedding works best with high-speed internet connections, such as a good WIFI or at least 4G / LTE. If you are using slow network connections and / or older hardware with little RAM, these posts with embedded media might take a while to load...:(

Example for automatically embedding a Facebook video: The latest CIB Facebook post is this video posted yesterday. On a PC you click on the post, click on the three dots and copy link. Paste this link into the editor here.

    fbtut2.PNG

The link should look like this:

    https://www.facebook.com/401617183283119/videos/698811364217069/

After the domain name, there's the FB account number, then the word "videos", and finally the video ID. If your link looks a lot different than the one above, then there's something wrong.. Perhaps you copied the web address / URL where the video was posted to instead of the specific address of the video...

Again: If you paste this video link here and hit enter / return, the forum software will (should) automatically embed the video...

The same principle (i.e., copying the media URL (video URL, audio URL, image URL/ address) can be applied to embed media from other social media sites, such as Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Giphy, Tenor, imgurl, Snapchat, Pinterest, twitch, Soundcloud, DeviantArt, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, Tumblr, and so on. I think it even works with VK and Whatsapp. I'm not so sure about Chinese sites such as Youku.

    Good luck!

    Hi Thanks,

don't know if anyone is having same problem as me (to say i am completely useless when it comes to IT matters would be a gross understatement),

but when you embed fartbook videos, I can play them however it plays only a zoomed in version of the video, as in in the video above all i see is the dashboard of a car.

The click on fullscreen does nothing so the only way to see the whole video is to go to the facebook page to watch.

Is it something I am doing wrong, is there an easier way to view?

What device, site version, and browser type are you using? Desktop, mobile, iPad, Tapatalk...?

Does this video appear correctly in the container here:

    Or perhaps this one:

    .

The first one is using the post plug-in, the second one the video plug-in code generator.

I'm only using the standard Facebook plug-ins:

For pure video plug-ins this one:

So how do the window-seat passengers in the next rows access and exit their seats?

Delta has recently introduced a new back-to-front boarding process. Passengers are asked to stay seated in the waiting area until their row is announced. That's reality already. Next step I think could be to let window seat passengers take their seats before middle and aisle seat ticket holders.

    https://thepointsguy.com/news/delta-air-lines-boarding-social-distancing

Emirates screens passengers before boarding an aircraft for the corona virus whereby blood is drawn from a finger prick and the results are processed in just 10 minutes. :o

  10. Emirates' new policy according to the pointsguy website:

"The carrier will not allow passengers to board with cabin baggage in an effort to reduce risk of spreading the virus by touch.

    ...

all passengers and crew wear masks and gloves throughout their journey — from check-in until they disembark.

All cabin crew, boarding agents and ground staff who come in direct contact with passengers will be outfitted in personal protective equipment, which includes a disposable down over their uniforms and a safety visor — plus a mask and gloves.

    ...

After each journey, the airline said that aircraft will go through enhanced cleaning and disinfection processes in Dubai.

    ...

On board, the airline said that it’s pre-allocating seats so there are vacant seats between individual passengers or family groups in an effort to social distance.

Meal services have also been adjusted, as cabin crew will distribute bento box-style meals to passengers in order to minimise contact.

Magazines and other print materials have been removed from seatback pockets in order to reduce spread by touch."

  11. I'm wondering how Covid-19 will change the way we travel to Bangkok?

Will we all be wearing face masks for the duration of the flight on board in the future?

How will the flight attendants' uniforms look like?

Will pax also have to wear in-flight protective gear?

Will there be one aisle for going to the lavatory and another one for returning to the seat?

Instead of a welcome Champagne, will we get some sanitizer bottles?

    EWIHPcmU4AELKfD.jpg:large

Will the cleaning of the aircraft take much longer than before Corona and will therefore the aircraft turnaround time be a lot higher?

Will we be greeted with an infrared thermometer gun when we board the plane?

Will the middle seats be blocked or even removed in all cabin classes?

Will airline food still be available? Only if it's prepackaged?

How much will a ticket cost in the future? More than before Corona? Or less because of the low oil / fuel prices?

how do you embed the video like that?

    Easy-peasy...

First step: Get the URL of the video.

Second step: to manually embed the video by using the video URL you need an iframe code. Either you know by heart how to write this little sniplet (takes less than a minute...) or you use one of the many free online iframe / embedding tools you find on the internet.

Once you've got the iframe code, you copy it and paste it into the HTML editor of this forum.

    And that's it!

    Some additional hints:

    1. To get the Twitter video URL you can for example use the share button in Twitter. Click on the share symbol (the one with the three dots on the right):

    IMG_20200418_125806.jpg

On different versions of Twitter (app, mobile, desktop...) the share button may be located in a bit different place...

Then click on "Copy link to tweet":

    IMG_20200418_125749.jpg

You should get the message "copied to clipboard"

Paste this link to a URL finder such as for example:

    https://igeturl.com/

    Click on "Get!"

    IMG_20200419_061220.jpg

Copy and add the URL (the blue one) to the iframe code generator of your choice, such as for example

    https://embediframegenerator.com/

    IMG_20200419_061520.jpg

    Click on "Generate"

    IMG_20200419_061646.jpg

    and then on "copy it".

    4. Then go to the HTML editor of your forum post by clicking on the "Source" tab (on the left):

    IMG_20200419_062009.jpg

and there you paste this iframe code:

    IMG_20200419_062232.jpg

On the desktop version of the forum you can also click on the HTML embed sign to enter / paste the iframe code.

Once you've pasted it in the HTML editor you click on the source tab again and you should see a preview of your post:

    IMG_20200419_062524.jpg

Then click on submit / save or edit. Done!

    5. I think the video will be embedded in a HTML 5 player. So if someone still has a browser that only manages HTML 4, he can't see the video and / or get an error message...

The full code including the 3 pixel red frame for the video above looks like this:

    <p>
        <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="1" height="400px" marginheight="0px" marginwidth="0px" name="Faye Casanova" scrolling="yes" src="https://twitter.com/i/videos/1229634776291655681?embed_source=facebook" style="border:3px #ff1122 solid;" width="100%"></iframe>
    </p>

The simple code (that also works!!!) looks like this:

    <iframe  height="400px"  src="https://twitter.com/i/videos/1229634776291655681?embed_source=facebook"  width="320px"></iframe>

    I know: sounds complicated...

    :Crazy1:

... and cumbersome, but once you've done it a few times it'll take less than a minute to do it...

    Easy peasy, lemon squeezy...

    Good luck!

     :hello10:

  13. Is there a way to post on the community calendar?

    https://www.bangkokladyboys.net/forum/index.php?/calendar/1-community-calendar/2020/4/

For example if any of the lb bars organises a special party it would be great if one could somehow mark the date on the calendar.

Or for the dry (alcohol ban) days...

Or for the end of the lockdown...

For obvious reasons it's not an urgent matter for now...
