  1. If I were in CM I would most certainly be there right now... Looks like a great place to be for a night out in Chiang Mai! ❤❤
  2. My top three bars are: 1. Stumble Inn: great people watching, great live music, open front, just a great place! 2. Fitzgerald's: great food, great people watching, nice staff (usually) 3. Bully's Pub: great Thai food, great selection of drinks, air conditioned, nice place to hang around for a while
  3. That's 260 USD a month... I guess that's just for yourself. Or are family members included?

  5. It's probably a long shot, but I'm asking anyway... I'm looking for information and leads on the following three "Thai Thai" nightlife areas: - Cocowalk, - Udom Suk Rd. and - Srinakarin One possibly interesting Thai style nightlife area could be Srinarakin Road I think. The Railway weekend night market (Talad Rot Fai) on Sri Nakarin Road near Paradise Park Mall as well as Seacon Square Mall looks intriguing - at least on Google images... I've found out already that the market days are Thursday to Sunday evening. Apart from the market stalls, there are also some western style bars there it seems... Has anyone an idea if one can find (pro or non-pro) girls (LB or GG) there? I guess Flip Club (on the "other" side of the two big malls) is not really an option to meet lbs? Srinakarin is close to Suvarnabhumi airport and there are a few international hotels nearby. I'm looking at the Dusit Princess as a potential place to stay either the night after arrival or before a flight out of BKK. So getting there would be by cab I expect. Has anyone been there, i.e. at the Sri Nakarin railway market and/or the Dusit Princess or has anyone otherwise knowledge of the (LB/GG) nightlife scene there? Another nightlife area I'm looking at that is apparently mainly set up for the locals is Udom Suk Rd. Since the opening of the BTS station there a few years ago, it appears it has now become accessible even if you're staying far away, e.g. in the Sukhumvit area. Apparently "many" foreigners have bought or rented condos in this area, particularly since the opening of the BTS station. So there might be at least some foreigner friendly nightlife there, right? Udom Suk ist just 3 BTS stations from On Nut... I know that there are some naughty massage parlours around Udom Suk near the Sukhumvit end and there's at least one ST hotel, Hotel Udomsuk, where streetwalkers (apparently LB & GG) go to with their clients... I've also learned from a Google search that the road is very long and that the bars and restaurants are scattered throughout the road. However there's apparently a cluster of (hostess) bars and karaokes between Sois 49 and 51 and further up toward Srinakarin. One hostess bar is called Ting Ting: Another one is called Lan La karaoke. Obviously also a hostess bar. Another potentially interesting bar I guess could be Fifty Five bar . Rao Cocktail lounge even has an interesting video on their homepage: I assume those aforementioned hostess bars are mostly GG places? From the little experience I have gained so far in LOS, I figured out that where there is a p4p GG place there's often (though not always) a lb or two mixed in or at least not far away... Getting there from BTS Udom Suk on foot is not recommended I guess? Are cabs available (and willing) to get you from the BTS station to Soi 51 or other alleys with bars? On Stickman, there's an older report on the Udom Suk karaoke / hostess bar scene. The 'Midnite Hour' has also reviewed the area in the past. Has anyone explored the (GG or LB) nightclub scene there? What about the streetwalker scene? Is it worth the effort or does Udom Suk, well, suck? A third area I'd like to give a shot sometime is Cocowalk, or better "Co Co Walk" - to avoid confusion... Of the three areas mentioned it should be the one that is the most easy to get to. It's located right next to Ratchathewi BTS station, just four stations away from Nana BTS and only three from Phloen Chit BTS... There are some bars with live music and in general, from the images I see on Google, it looks rather "western" to me... Are there any particularly good places to pick up a lb at Co Co Walk? In general - by and large - I do like staying in "tourist town" (Nana/NEP, Phom Phrong, Silom/Patpong, Asok/Cowboy) for its convenience and easy access to all the foreigner oriented (lb) nightlife. However "tourist town" is about as authentically Thai as a Rolex watch bought at the Patpong nightmarket is authentic Swiss made... I therefore like to explore new and more authentic Thai nightlife areas - well, at least once in a while... I've posted this in the general nightlife section. So please feel free to post here anything related to the three areas - and not only related to p4p... Thanks :-)

  7. "India Today" has closed a few weeks ago already I think... There's now a new bar there called "Food & Coffee"... Wondering how long it took them to come up with such a fancy name... Located next to the dee money exchange and travel office:
  8. Searching for "ladyboy bar" in Bangkok I keep getting results for a place on Phetkasem 47, between Bang Wa and Bang Khae, on the western outskirts of Krung Thep, close to MRT station Lak Song. Google Plus Code: PC66+7H Bangkok, Thailand Looks like a restaurant to me... but with mostly ladyboys: Is this some kind of ladyboy restaurant or ladyboy meeting point?
  9. I'm wondering how Covid-19 will change the way we travel to Bangkok? Will we all be wearing face masks for the duration of the flight on board in the future? How will the flight attendants' uniforms look like? Scoot Eva Air Philippines Airlines Emirates Sri Lankan I think Will pax also have to wear in-flight protective gear? Will there be one aisle for going to the lavatory and another one for returning to the seat? Instead of a welcome Champagne, will we get some sanitizer bottles? MAS Will the cleaning of the aircraft take much longer than before Corona and will therefore the aircraft turnaround time be a lot higher? Will we be greeted with an infrared thermometer gun when we board the plane? Will the middle seats be blocked or even removed in all cabin classes? Will airline food still be available? Only if it's prepackaged? How much will a ticket cost in the future? More than before Corona? Or less because of the low oil / fuel prices?
  10. Chuvit Garden on Sukhumvit Soi 10, close to Check-in Bar, has come to life again. Since 30 May 2019 you can find the Art Box there. Art Box will be in Chuvit Garden until 30 November 2019. They’re open every day from 3pm to midnight. The Art Box is a mix of outdoor night market, live music venue and food and craft beer places. One can eat and drink there before going to CIB for example... After the demolition of Washington Square with its makeshift gogo bars and other girlie bars in 2003, Chuvit garden became first a public park but was finally closed a couple of years ago. The former owner wanted to build a ****hotel there but then dropped those plans... Thanks :-)
  11. "Artbox on Sukhumvit soi 10 / the land also known as Chuwit Park has proven to be popular over the past year, and managed to open before Bangkok came out of lock-down. The vendors operating at Artbox have 6-month contracts, a clear sign it is all very temporary. There have been a lot of rumours about what will happen on that piece of land and word broke this week that a giant office tower and hotel will go up. To be called The Edition Hotel Bangkok, it will be 51 storeys and dwarf most buildings in the area. Artbox will be around for a little while yet…so enjoy it while you can." https://www.stickmanbangkok.com/weekly-column/2020/06/off-the-menu/

Hope you don't mean me ... And if you fly back to MUC next time you don't have to go into a 14 day quarantine anymore, says the German ambassador in BKK: Guess other countries will soon follow suit... ...and in case you miss your scheduled flight from BKK to MUC, you could inquire if there's a seat available on the Thai Air Force Boeing 737, registration HS-HMK (a.k.a. "Victor Mike") https://flightaware.com/live/flight/HSHMK More I won't say as that would be against the forum rules...
  14. American Eagle has problems with so-called "linked images" sometimes also referred to as remote images, external images or embedded images. Unlike images uploaded to the forum server (hosted images) they are hosted on a different server (i.e., are non-hosted images). Some forum members, like American Eagle, have experienced problems seeing those images. Apparently they are not correctly displayed in their browser. Since American Eagle writes in red I assume he's using a PC and not a phone (while it's actually possible to change the font color using a phone, it nevertheless is a PITA... Using the desktop site it's a lot easier to change font colors...). Could this display problem have to do with him probably using a PC? And / or could this problem come from the computer's privacy and security settings? And / or the firewall? Is it a browser issue? Or is JavaScript disabled? Or is there a problem with his OS? Or is it a cache problem because when someone quotes the post with the image, that image will be displayed in the quote by clicking on the link (but still remains invisible in the original post). I guess external images are cached on the forum? Or...? The images in question by the way were all embedded in the rich text editor (and not in the HTML editor let alone in Tapatalk...). Thanks! This is a linked gif image by the way.
  15. Congratulations on your first post since you've joined the forum in 2013... There could be a variety of reasons for this to happen, for example - the image URL link has expired, - the linked picture was taken private or deleted by the person who originally uploaded it, - your browser and/ or general security settings don't allow external content, ... Try Chrome browser if you're using an Android device or Safari if your an Apple guy... For Firefox browser help see for example: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-problems-images-not-show
  16. That didn't last long according to Stickman: "The fun had resumed at Art Box next to Sukhumvit soi 12 and the crowds were back. It felt just like pre-Covid19 with vendors doing a good trade selling food and drinks. The party was back! But then some jealous sod complained to the police and that was the end of alcohol being sold – and the end of the fun and revelry – at Art Box for the time being."

Thai Airways apparently intends to file for bankruptcy protection which would imply a restructuring of the flag carrier. Guess that process won't be "smooth as silk"... I don't know if bankruptcy protection in Thailand can be compared to Chapter 11 of Title 11 of the US Code for example.
  19. Four more stations will be opening in June 2020 as the existing Sukhumvit green line will be extended from Kasetsart University (North 13 / N13) to Wat Phra Si Mahathat (N17). https://www.bts.co.th/eng/ Do's and don'ts on the BTS: https://twitter.com/i/videos/1244975740979793920

    Embedded Facebook videos

Instead of embedding a Facebook video manually, you can also let the forum software do the whole job. You just have to copy the video link address and paste it into the standard (WYSIWYG) editor here. To find the video address you can right click on the video, click on "display video URL", copy the video URL (video address) and paste it here. Hit enter and the forum software should do its magic... Depending on your browser, app, device and operating system this option to find the video URL may or may not work. If it doesn't work, you can try the following: Go to the desktop version of FB (either by using a PC or by removing the "m" in front of the website address in your mobile browser) and click on the three dots on the upper right hand corner of the post. This should open a menu with the option to copy the link. Do this and paste the link here in the forum editor, hit enter, and wait a second or two before the video shows up. Video embedding works best with high-speed internet connections, such as a good WIFI or at least 4G / LTE. If you are using slow network connections and / or older hardware with little RAM, these posts with embedded media might take a while to load... Example for automatically embedding a Facebook video: The latest CIB Facebook post is this video posted yesterday. On a PC you click on the post, click on the three dots and copy link. Paste this link into the editor here. The link should look like this: https://www.facebook.com/401617183283119/videos/698811364217069/ After the domain name, there's the FB account number, then the word "videos", and finally the video ID. If your link looks a lot different than the one above, then there's something wrong.. Perhaps you copied the web address / URL where the video was posted to instead of the specific address of the video... Again: If you paste this video link here and hit enter / return, the forum software will (should) automatically embed the video... The same principle (i.e., copying the media URL (video URL, audio URL, image URL/ address) can be applied to embed media from other social media sites, such as Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Giphy, Tenor, imgurl, Snapchat, Pinterest, twitch, Soundcloud, DeviantArt, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, Tumblr, and so on. I think it even works with VK and Whatsapp. I'm not so sure about Chinese sites such as Youku. Good luck! Automatically embedded: Manually embedded:
