Stuck in Bangkok?
-
Anyone stayed here post covid? Keen to hear any opinion pre or post pandemic although recent stays would be most useful.
-
I went there for breakfast on an early visit. Dressed smart and took a guide book to look like a tourist - not a sex tourist (although staying at Majestic Grande and just farewells a LT NEP lb). Was given a grilling by the mamasan before allowed in. Interesting place. Great breakfast. The swimming pool was originally a snake pit where the German founder collected venom.

I used the BIDC twice. Excellent service - a crown and general work,a filling, clean, whitening etc First visit was 2015 second 2018. Prices were way lower than Australia and service was perfect.

reliable Thai visa agencies in Pattaya for retirement?
mikel replied to maiyaks's topic in Visa Information
I'd join the Pattaya Ladyboy Forum if I were you. You may suffer information overload but there will be some pearls of wisdom in there -
Will be landing at DM from KL in April. Anyone fast tracked through there lately? Looking for recommendations and approximate cost.

Spotted on Agoda...take heed

Thai Air are completely useless. I flew with them several times ex Syd because of special deals through Malai Travel but one flight had a broken seat. No acknowledgement from staff and sought compensation/apology via letters/email/phone & online shaming. Nothing. One flight entertainment system broken. Same deal. Ladt time the plane broke down in Sydney but nobody told us for three hours until a softly spoken middle aged man came out and told us it was cancelled only those closest could understand him. Next day we returned and they had no plan or system at all. I worked with a British guy to separate passengers into destinations (London, Frankfurt & Singapore) and we worked with a lone Thai woman to get people on other flights. I ended up on Singapore Air. Will never fly Thai again. (And their whisky is awful).

Have a word with yourself. Racism is for dickheads.

Going to cost you a fortune in LadyPies....

If you're a serious gym goer then you can't beat the Muscle Factory at On Nut. Bit of a hike but it's the best gym in Bkk. 250bt for a day pass.

It's the tropics so a white dinner jacket is acceptable but remember you are representing the highest form of gentleman traveller so never white pants under any circumstance. -
I took girl on several trips and found that she loved a private pool villa - couldn't really swim but made an effort (loved sex in the pool ) but at a resort stayed on the lounger under the umbrella looking at her phone. At the beach she would wade out to waist height and bob around. I imagine an Australian surf beach would freak them out!

I've used Bangkok International Dental Centre several times and always pleased with the result (and cost...also from Sydney so I understand your pain). My lb 'gf' always chided me that it was ek-pensive - it is aimed at farang - but to me it was reasonable and honest.

Yes I guessed. Being a smartarse. From all reports I would avoid the Ambassador.

The Old English in Thong Lor suk soi 55 -
When it first opened I liked to take the train - empty, nice leisurely introduction back into Bkk watching the scenery. And dirt cheap. Subsequent visits it has been packed and/or I've been picked up lb gf. Next trip it'll be back to taxi.
-
I've never used it and have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to get through immigration but have always wondered if it was value for money.

Can I ask how much they charged? One amateurish looking website said 3500b which I took to be a misprint. Another quoted 53.55aud (1300ish bt). There seems to be a huge amount of options (on google at least).
-
Just read on a guest friendly hotel site that this Novotel is no longer guest friendly but charges 1200b for overnighters. Daytime visitors are free apparently. Bizarre decision given the location.
-
As per the title. Anyone tried it recently - what do you get and is it worth it? (Agoda are quoting 250aud) After all these years I've never stayed at the Landmark and have two nights next July so despite my opinion of lower Suk in the daytime I thought I'd try it out.
