Soi 2 is fine. There is a cut through to soi 4.

Check the hotel reviews or email them. It's not hard.

I only use one bedroom suite. It's microwave, fridge and kettle. 5 min walk tops to bts. Decent restaurant on corner of soi 85. Plenty of food options next to bts. Turn left out of soi 85/ suk and there's a decent street market a short walk away.

It's very boutique - as in small and pricey.

Soi 11 Nightlife and eats

Can recommend Snapper. -
That's cheap but Jetstar are likely to stuff you around too. Customer service is not in their dna.

I'm English too and totally agree about Afl - always thought it was a practical joke that got out of hand. Unfortunately I confused the image you conhured up and am now imagining the Queen as an lb. Off for a drink!

Too late. They closed the special offer on November 30. To keep the Kiwi's out! 😂

Factor in the time lost transiting KL. Makes it a pain from Sydney probably ok from Perth. I used them several times in Thailand one trip and was very happy. Just booked April flight with Thai for $724

I agree. Booked @Mind soi85 for six nights - can't fault it. The area 's being rapidly developed so I imagine prices will rise. Driving south on Suk it's noticeable that developers are moving in everywhere. Starting to look for a one bedroom apartment comparable to @Mind for next visit. Spending less time in lower suk with each trip and starting to get a handle on the city as a whole.

Stayed here for two nights last week. Splashed out a bit (aud 250) because I wanted to take a girl somewhere nice. She loved it. You get a private villa with large dining area, big bedroom with day bed, walled courtyard with pool and outdoor bath. Huge bathroom. Room service food is provided by the restaurant next door. For other food options turn right out of the hotel cross over the train line and on the left past the 7-11 (there are 2 opposite each other!) is a square full of food stalls - reasonably priced and several cater to western taste. Cheap and tasty. There's not much to do in the neighbourhood but given the rain we were soon inside making our own entertainment. The tv is a samsung smart tv and has 16 channels and is a basic package. My girl conjured up some movies via her smartphone. The outdoor bath is big enough for two 😎. The staff are friendly but not super slick - they forgot to replenish tea & coffee and when I mentioned it we received enough to last a month! Check in and out was a breeze. Didn't see much of other guests, it's a great spot for a romantic break 😊. One last point - have a read of the reviews on agoda and try to imagine the sad prick malaysian guy who posts the negative review.I enjoyed it, shame about the rain but if you have solid chemistry with your lb this is a good spot to stay.

Flights, food, fucking and shoes all in one post! Now that's advice you won't get at Thomas Cook....😁

It's definitely cheaper than Australia and I've never had a problem although only visit in short bursts.

I paid 300 baht for a True sim at a bts station (phaya thai I think). They set it up and it included 1.5g data which lasted me the week. As Rod said most hotels offer wi-fi. Check on agoda.Just realised it was AIS this trip.

Good food too.

Send them an email asking. You won't be the first.

Don't know - the airline oversold my flight and put me up here. Had to look upset at missing flight while mentally cheering and doing cartwheels...

Due to flight changes had one night here. 4 star modern hotel. Huge lobby, reasonably quick check in - told them that my girlfriend would be joining me later - not a problem. When she arrived they rang to let me know. Didn't take her id card. The rooms are a decent size with large window looking into bathroom - full bath, shower big enough for two. TV has typical chain selection - fox2 for sport and a movie channel. No bar fridge! The bed is excellent and big - ideal for all sorts of manouevres. Short shuttle ride to terminal. And reasonable coffee in the lobby.

Decent amount of space if a little soulless. But just add a ladyboy......

Novotel Suvarnabhumi is guest friendly. They phone when she arrives. Didn't take id card.

Round trip in the North/NorthEast - any ideas?
mikel replied to pikogpatter's topic in Transport and Travel
I'd second the AirAsia specials for at least some of it. Last year they had a sale in Feb and I picked up five flights ranging from $18 to $27. At that price you can ditch one if your plans change. -
Great review. Thanks. Will push this up the list for future visits.

@Mind is on soi 85 and has an ok gym and small rooftop pool. More for lounging around than doing laps. The one bedroom apartment is excellent value. Kitchen area with dining table, lounge with sofa, flatscreen and tiny balcony. Bathroom ok. Bedroom excellent (another wall mounted flatscreen). As OTS said excellent location. Good price too. I've booked for a return visit in Oct.
