  1. Maitria is close to both the MRT & BTS stations, roughly 650m, so this is always a good thing and it is something I always lookout for. The walk to trains is comfortable and fast. I have been with Adelphi Grande for the past 7 years (roughly 2 visits a year) and have been comfortable with them. Unfortunately, staff turnover is very high so that’s a negative. Before that it was Parchara Suites on soi 6 (now Parkroyal). The people at Maitria are good. Well most of them. Housekeeping is spot on, and this is very high on my list. I never fail to see housekeeping, already cleaning rooms when I leave at 930am. Breakfast was a little sparse (although coffee was good), but I guess that is to be expected at this price point. There is a small laundrette in the basement, which is a useful feature to have. The room layout is awkward, and furniture placement makes it very difficult to move around and be comfortable. So this was a negative for me. Not something I’d care to repeat. The bed was spectacular, one of the better features in the room but I just wished the WiFi connection was better. I booked the studio grand deluxe, 2,600B nett per day, with breakfast. I had planned. 2 week stay with them but I came down with Bronchitis while on a food binge in Yaowarat on the 2nd day. Doctors on the 3rd day, and I got a flight back home on the 4th day. All my plans, down the drain!!! Ah! Well. Dan

    Bangkok Travel Warning!

Yeah! I read his earlier this month on Agoda. I think he was hassled or something. I wouldn’t pay any heed. dan

    Blowjobs & Mouth Ulcers

I’d have to agree even though if might be risky. But I can’t imagine doing it with a condom. dan

    Air China

I suggest you wait for prices to drop. They do things differently from the rest. A short 1 or 2 hour flight? Maybe. Big Maybe! But anything more? Don't risk it. Dan
  6. Enjoy buddy. Write something for us. dan

    Hotels in BKK

When I check in, I enquire the head of housekeeping. In the room I call him/her up and request for 4 towels daily. Also additional drinking water. I tip him 100B. Almost every morning b4 I leave the hotel, I place av 40B with a note for housekeeping. I will also request change of bedsheets etc one or twice a week, what with all the bodily fluids all over it. Washer/dryer in room

Thanks. I considered that before deciding on Park Plaza. The latter was much cheaper. Dan

    Washer/dryer in room

Thank you. Am staying at the Park Plaza (@Asok bts) in a couple of months and I am looking for a good laundry service. A washer/dryer in the room means I don't have to bring that many change of clothes. BKK's high humidity is a real pain. Thanks again. Dan

    Washer/dryer in room

The other Adelphis have it too. My go-to was Adelphi Grande on Sukhumvit 41 (looking for a change now though). Hi oily, is Ananya Massage & Laundry Service the one you are referring to? I found it on Google. Thank you Dan
  13. Hope you have a wonderful time buddy. Looking forward to your reports. dan
  14. Hi guys Does anyone have any feedback on Rembrandt hotels? I was looking at another stay in Oct/Nov '23 and I noticed that their rates are pretty low. For example, 7 nights, with b'fast, for less than 15,000Baht. And theres no payment now. I usually frequent Adelphi Grande but their rates appear to be rising steadily out of my reach. Their Pictures look good and reviews seem good too, so am curious about the low price. Anyone who has ever stayed with them, I would sincerely appreciate a quick review. Thank you loads. Dan
  15. Cheers guys. much appreciated. I read Saxons post but thought it might have been renovated since then. Current pics posted on travel sites look a tad different hence the my question. I like the new pics and the rates are really good. Thank you again. dan
  16. I'm sure you will buddy. I'm in bkok from tomorrow and really looking forward to it. Dan

    Headphones Recommendations

I am replying about earbuds, not headphones. You might want to look at newer brands like Anker or Edifier. These are great Value for money brands. The Sony wf 1000xm3 is about a year old and Its price has dropped considerably as the new model is out. But it was voted best among reviewers. Dan

Travel Cost and Accomadation Q4 2022

I have seen price increases for flights about 30% but not hotels. That has maintained.

    Carry on Only Tips

Well I usually stay in a hotel with a washer/dryer so I pack considerably less clothes than what I use to. My go to hotel is Adelphi Grande. Others are centre point Sukhumvit, parchara suites and the 2 other adelphis.
  24. Yes this was so disappointing. I visited in july and was sad to find it closed. The alternative for me is MBK.
