Should all of the above or whatever follows this post fail, or should you find yourself around Nana after hours and famished, you can always rely on getting some decent food at Took Lae Dee.
While not falling into the category of elegance as other places. it should not disappoint you.

Took Lae Dee means cheap and good in Thai, and its long food counter, which can be found inside any branch of Foodland supermarkets, has appeared in countless numbers of Thai movies and thus is well known throughout the country. The food is nothing over the top, but its regulars swear by it, and many visitors to Thailand end up spending days and hours there, lingering over the big breakfasts, including toast, eggs, bacon, ham, sausages, orange juice and tea or coffee. Think of that local cheap hangout diner back in the USA and you can see why Took Lae Dee is a success, not to mention that you can go shopping in the supermarket while you are there.

The branch in Soi 5 attracts the odd freelancer...so you never know what bargains you may get.

Ditto reacted to mardhi in Residence @ CIB pre-opening
The plan for this are already pretty advanced and by look of things will be opening quicker than anyone expected. This is what I have been told and also what some guys are trying to influence June so it works well.

The CIB building is at least 30 years old and has all the main plumbing at the back of the building. The rooms were previously rented out to Thai's in price range of 3,000-5,000b month. They were in terrible state. Floor by floor, everything is being ripped out and done again. When CIB opens it will comprise the first 2 floors (Ground and mezzanine). There are two rooms on the mezzanine which will be used for hourly rentals.

On each of the floors above, there will end up being 3 rooms and one suite. The suite takes up half the floor space and has a fully integrated bathroom with walk in shower etc. Separate bedroom then at the front is the living area with windows etc. The 3 rooms will have their own shower but not an integrated toilet within the room. Only one of these 3 rooms has a window. Two rooms are internal. The toilets are on each floor at the back of the building. As a result, the prices will be pitched accordingly. Some guys maybe OK with that, some not so cool. The plan for rooms is king size beds, powerful aircon, powerful water supply and sound proofed rooms. Beds and linen will be 100% cotton and very good quality. Prices expected to be somewhere around 800-1000 baht per night. The suites will be somewhere in the 2,500-3,000b night range and drop down the more nights you stay. i.e., this is not full service hotel, the preference is for guests to stay longer and pricing will reflect that in the suites & rooms. There will likely only be 2 suites converted, but that could increase to 4 if it is a success. It is being looked at now if the suites can create a balcony as well, no word on if this can be done.

The 1st floor (Ground, mezzanine, 1st, 2nd etc) rooms will likely be ready in September. At this stage I have no idea how bookings will be made and June is focussed on getting the bar ready first and then move onto the rooms. For guys planning trips this autumn/winter may find this useful. The rooms have their own access into the building seperate from the bar with key code access.

The 1st floor and 2nd floor are walkable easily, any higher and I can't see people walking up. There are 6 floors in total. There is no lift.

That is what I know so far.

    Your first time eh? Welcome!
You have a number of options and all have pros and cons.
So, let's assume you've picked up your preferred LB in one of the Nana Plaza bars or CiB.
Besides the agreed sum for short of long time (anywhere between 1,000 and 2,000 baht) you will need to pay a bar fine (600 - 700 baht) and that will be on top of one or two drinks you will have purchased, say from 320 baht upward).
As this is your first time, it may be more expedient to take the option of renting one of the rooms upstairs for as little as 350 thb.
This will eliminate any awkwardness should anything go wrong in "your room".
Total approximate cost 3,500 to 4,000 baht not factoring in your time to reach the venue.
Pros: you see the LB you like in real life
Cons: If you do not find what you like at the start, it may turn out to be time consuming and moving from bar to bar will require new drinks.

A second option is "room service".
You can order your favourite "take away" from a website like www.ladyboy-for-you.com
and have it delivered to your room.
Pros: very easy and time efficient, not having to walk next to her if that embarrassing for you
Cons: more expensive and the LB may not turn out to look/be what you expected.

    Third option "street food"
walk down Sukhumvit road any time after 7 pm on the odd side of the road past the BTS at Asok and all the way down to Soi 3 and you will go past countless options many of which are LBs.
Most will know of a short time hotel nearby for 350 - 400 baht and their short time rate may be as low as 1,000 baht.

    Fourth option
Try a dating site such as Thai friendly and be amazed as to how reasonably easy it is to hook up with a LBs.
Some LBs will be professional freelancers and some will be delightful LBs genuinely looking for a relationship.
If the latter, meeting them for a drink or dinner may be a pleasant option.
pros: lots of choice and you can filter by age, weight etc.
Cons: There is a risk your date may be older or bigger than the photo on the website.
Under this option, you may have to take them back to your hotel.

In terms of cheap 2 star plus hotels which are LBs friendly, an acquaintance of mine is quite pleased with the Orchid group.
There are three of those in Soi 4 including the White Orchid Inn.
    Good luck.

Ditto reacted to DeepnHard in Condoms and oils, a dangerous mix.
There's apparently silicon based lube, which stays slippery and doesn't damage condoms. I'll look for it in pharmacies.

What I've gathered so far (these aren't my opinions, and don't know how many of these are available in LOS):

    "Popular silicon-based lubes include:

Wet Platinum: By the makers of Wet, naturally, this is high quality and very long-lasting.

Eros Bodyglide: It's almost identical to Wet Platinum, but more expensive.

ID Millennium: ID Millennium is a good lube, but not quite as smooth as Eros or Wet Platinum. It's still a good choice, however.

Play Tingling silicone-based lubricant, made by Durex. It provides a tingling sensation and has a minty scent and taste." (Hmmm)

Forgive me if you all know this like scripture. I did a site search (using the search engine) and couldn't find this topic discussed, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

As far as sex lubricants go, oils are very dangerous--for instance like Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil (a mineral oil), or even something as innocuous as coconut oil. The oils are a bit deceptive too, because they often don't break the condom outright, but nonetheless eat little microscopic holes in the latex, which are invisible to the eye but big enough for STDs, including AIDS to easily pass through.

Water based lubricants are the way to go, though I hate them because they always dry out so quickly (though you can make them slippery again be adding water).

I once tested the above facts (to see how bad the situation about was) with two condoms: one I'd lubed with water based lube and the other with J&J baby oil. I let them sit for about 20 minutes on my bureau then tried to break each by stretching them. I couldn't break the water lube, by the baby oil broke easily with just mild stretching. (I was demonstrating this for a Cambodian GG, who didn't believe me)

I once saw a site that did systematic testing of this sort (unfortunately I can't locate it) and determined that for many oils you only have perhaps 5 minutes before holes develop in the condom. Much more time was needed for breakage but only 5 minutes or so to catch an STD.

All this is bad news for me. I love J&J baby oil to lube up my baby.

This article says it's more like 1 minute with some lubes...
