Aspen Suites soi 2 (Updated 2015)

The pool is fairly small and other non mongering facilities are nil. The tuktuk service is now extended to 24 hours and I stayed there in March too and very happy with the place. The only down side is that it is a bit far down the soi. The value for money is much better than Majestic Grande up the road.

    Lb Friendly Hotels

I have stayed at the Majestic Grande and also the Aspen Suites and both are LB friendly. In fact with Aspen Suites, you can use the door through the parking lot to go in and out without using the lobby from 6am till 12 midnight. Majestic Grande will let you take her but only after keeping her ID.

Aspen Suites soi 2 (Updated 2015)

I stayed here last week. It was a lot better than I expected and the hotel did send the tuktuk even though they say it operates till 8pm. In fact the walk from NEP to there is a lot shorter than I originally thought. I paid about 300 dollars for 5 nights and would probably stay there the next time too. I think it would be a good place if anyone wants to bf a lb for a long time like a couple of days. There were no children running down the corridors etc and you can use the side door through the garage till 12midnight if you do not want to go though the lobby.

    Flight ratings (2015 updates)

I normally fly Qatar too. Their business class service is fairly good but not as as good as Singapore. Their seats in business though flat is not parallel to the floor and is slanted a bit. Then they have the seats side by side and do not have the privacy. I fly on Air Canada a lot too and their business class "cubicle" seat is completely flat and very good though their service and entertainment is crap. The seats offer a lot of privacy and you do not see the next passenger at all as the seats are independent. Etihad and Oman have very good seats in both business and economy. The problem with Qatar's economy seats are that you cannot raise the arm rests all the way. Singapore is probably the best airline in the World but these days I do not get the chance to fly them at all. I have flown in Sri Lankan airlines too and though their seats are still the old style, their in flight service is extremely friendly and good.

Aspen Suites soi 2 (Updated 2015)

Thanks as the rate in Majestic Grande is going up from 60 odd from year to a close to 100 the last month. So looking for a decent place without all the hassles of the people and all this with comfortable and safe rooms especially if I bring someone for LT.

Aspen Suites soi 2 (Updated 2015)

I am thinking of staying here and how is it compared to the hotels like Majestic Grande etc. I do not use any service at the hotels apart from the occasional room service so not bothered about such things. Are the rooms clean and fairly decent, do they create any hassle for LBs? thanks

    Nana Hotels open to tourists

What bothered me at Majestic Grande has got nothing to do with the hotel but as you say some of the guests. I had a guest of Indian origin accost me and wanted to inquire if I was a guest of someone and that sort while I was in no mind to have such a kind of a conversation. In the previous trips I had and stayed in Majestic Grande, the place was not full and it could be that it coincided some holiday period in the middle east etc. People I know go to Nana to pick up GGs so to me it is not such a big worry that I may see them at the hotel as the chance of meeting them in NEP is as much as high. I think the biggest issue would be is you take someone LT and keep her for the time period you stay as then you will be walking in and out with her. I let he go early in the morning on her own if I do not keep her during the day and that means that I do not have to walk with her but I have also kept one LT and she stayed with me for 2 days and I never had an issue with that. But as you say I am also on the lookout for an alternative place and I prefer larger rooms so it may be a bit hard to find one with decent rates. Any info on hotel with large rooms would also be appreciated.

    Nana Hotels open to tourists

Cossmo, I normally stay in the Majestic Grande and in fact stayed there last week but the place was jam packed with tourists, business people from all over the World, all ethnics, children, you name it, they were there. They do not charge extra and the concierge are very good if you tip them and they sort out the security if they get a bit pompous. The downside with all these people is that if you take for LT, then they will be around in the day time too but not so much after 11pm.But a lot of adults are at the lobby bar till late.( I cannot understand why they should be wasting their time at the lobby bar when Nana is so close) The hotel is very nice and I like the really rooms as they are large ad the service is good. If I get a LT LB a kind of GF, I would not be staying there myself and would prefer something like the Aspen Suites etc.
  13. I have been staying at the Majestic grande all the time but their prices have shot up now and the place is full of children etc. Is there any other decent hotel( with spacious rooms) nearby that anyone could recommend? thank you

    Accor Grand Sukhumvit (Formerly Sofitel)

Thanks. From what I see they are charging about 98 dollars per night? Is this the correct discounted rate? I am getting the Majestic Grande at about 81 dollars now.

What's Your Favourite Bkk Hotel And Why?

I stay and the Majestic Grande but think the rates are too high at 80 Us dollars a night. Is Dynasty Grande better value for money?

    Accor Grand Sukhumvit (Formerly Sofitel)

I have never stayed in a suite there yet but was wondering about the hotels nearby like the Landmark etc? Are the rooms spacey and good like the Majestic Grande and what about the security and do they create problems etc? Thanks

    Accor Grand Sukhumvit (Formerly Sofitel)

Thanks for all the info. I used to stay at the Majestic Grande and have no problems with the staff but at 80 dollars per night I was wondering if this is more expensive than most hotels around? I like large rooms and the rooms here are of a very good size and it is very close to Nana too.
