What has that got to do with Airlines? Frankly I could not care a toss what happens to a BBC crew anywhere. There are much worse abuse going in most middle east countries than the arrest of a BBC crew. Al Jazeera has been bombed by the Americans. That has not stopped anyone.

The new Etihad business class flat beds are among the best. It is flat and wide too. The lay out gives a bedroom effect too as it is individual seats now. They need to up the service up to the level of Qatar though as their IFE is not so good as Qatar. Qatar needs to get rid of the double seating and get individual seats in all their business class. The Etihad lounge in Abu Dhabi is among the best and to me much better than the Qatar lounge in Doha. Though the Qatar lounge in Heathrow is among the best I have seen. Maybe it is because their combined first and business class lounge.

Add Aspen Suites too as they do not charge a joiner fee if the room is booked for two.

I hate when hotels try to treat us as imbeciles. Of course they know that we know there are lbs. It is trying to humiliate us. I normally book a room for two people and if they try to charge a joiner fee I tell them to check her in as the 2nd person in the room. Since I have already paid for 2 people they have to check her in. The next day I inform she has checked out.

I do understand the id requirements for security reasons but sometimes it could get a bit embarrassing due to the situation at that time.

Are tablets cheaper in Thailand than most western countries? Would I be able to buy a Samsung tab 4 8 inch screen for under 6000 baht?
-
I am getting a Samsung 8 inch tab 4 for under 200 dollars so its about 6000 baht or so. I don't know if I can get this for the same price now in Bangkok.
-
Thanks guys. Yes if that's the indicative price then its cheaper in North America. I can get a Samsung tab 4 with 8 inch screen for under 200 dollars.

I need to book a room for about 10 days. Should I choose Aspen or icheck-inn?

By the way SM who is the girl in the blue?

Good hotel.I have stayed there many times too. The only issue I have faced every time I stayed there was the water seems to flow on to the floor from the tub every time I took a shower.

SM are these mostly post ops? -
flips, yes I agree with you about the size and the SD card. My one plus one is 64gb and I have no issues with the battery so far. The Huawei is a good phone too but so is the Mii. At this moment in time I would not change my one plus one for any other phones and not even for an iPhone 6.
-
The best and value for money is the Chinese phone one plus one. The downside is that you have to order it online. The best one I ever saw and price of around 499 or less. It is very fast and very good camera and 64G capacity

I had to stay at Majestic Suites for one night and I will never stay there again. It was terrible. The problem is that when on business the company puts you up in mostly 5 star hotels and most of the times have colleges who have no idea of this side of things. So when I pay I stay at the smaller hotels where there is more freedom. By the way I have never met small children running about in the Aspen while I have seen them every time I have stayed at Majestic Grande. The downside is a lot of Thai hotels do not have a guest program like the international hotels. I don't know why they don't introduce it so that it makes it easier for the check in if for nothing else.

Thanks SM. Aspen has never charged me extra for anything as you say. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is a decent size. I have to say the last time the TV was crap as everything was fuxzy. I think I will stick with Aspen for the time being then.

How would you compare the I checkin to the Aspen? I liked the large rooms in Aspen. Are the rooms spacious?

I stayed there in August for a couple of days and it was bad. There was a bad smelling down in the Lobby and as flipflop says it was very outdated. The front desk was not friendly at all. I had a had time to get there every time I took a taxi because no one seems to know where it is. There is a BTS within walking distance but its still about 15 to 20 minutes at least by walking. I will not stay there again. But this is my opinion only.

How would you compare the I hotels to aspen suites?

How would you compare the Icheckin to the Aspen Suites. I am also moving to soi 2 in two days time and looking for a hotel.

If you pick up an early bird you can take them through the parking lot, through the restaurant to the lift. That is if you don't want to go through the reception. The odd thing I discovered during my many stays here is that the junior suites has a design problem with the showers. No matter how many times I stayed in different ones, the water flows down on to the floor when I take a shower. Good hotel and I will stay here most of the time, if I have to pay for my hotel.

Yes the Pool is not usable at all. But overall I like the place and especially the concierge and the security staff are very good and polite. The only problem I have with them is that I stay there in about once in every three months and they still do not seem to keep a database on regular guests. A lot of hotels would keep that because it helps when you check in.
-
Thank you Pajtas. did you ever stay at Majestic Grande and if so how would you compare to this? And also what are the rates like?
