Did you sometimes meet Cartoon in your hotel's alley ?
I used to see a few ladyboys as a lot use PB Hotel just across and bit further down from Citrus. Did not see Cartoon but Bee was a freaqent visitor as well as many Cascade and FairyBar girls.
A few would seeme outside Citrus having a ciggy and walk over to say hi

For what I can see on the map, it's about the same walking distance, maybe a few steps longer from Unico Express. For what I can read in your post, you don't walk fast or you walk with your bagage like me.
I do walk fast but along soi 3 it gets a bit packed with arabs standing about looking at stalls or waiting on the pavement, plus there is always that wait at the lights to cross Sukhumvit to soi 4

Just my 1 baht (2 cents) information to this thread : I am used to Unico Express, 74 soi 3 Sukhumvit (Bangkok). It's a fairly cheap hotel with small and large rooms, all with A/C. They now have an acces to a swimming pool outside. The hotl has a new owner (an investment company) and is being renovated. I must admit, the larger was my room, the cheaper I paid. (Cheapest THB 900.00, highest : THB 1,600.00)
The personal is used to guests, particularly ladyboys. An ID is required for guests, the name is written in a guest book and guests must sign the book when the ID is given back. The person in charge of this operation at the reception in teh evening is often a ladyboy.
The hotel is fairly close to Nana Plaza. I usually walk there. The first time I was there, I made a ladyboy walk from Nana plaza to the hotel (although it's a long walk for somebody with high heeels).
I have passed by this hotel many times on my way in Bangkok and the last couple of times stayed in soi 11 alley leading on to soi 3 at Citrus Hotel. So Its a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel To Nana Plaza. And I am guessing it's more or less the same from Unico Express ?

Citrus Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 11
I choose this hotel asI have stayed at their sister hotel in Soi 13 a couple of times and I could not get my usual one bedroom suite at @Mind in On Nut as they had no rooms available.
The hotel itself is situated on the alley on Soi 11 that leads down on to Soi 3. It a brand new hotel that had only been open a few months.
The rooms are just slightly bigger than those on Soi 13. features..... of the room include, 32 LCD TV with multi-lingual channels, Individually Controlled Air- Conditioning, Wifi throught out that was contstant and never failed while I was there, Mini bar including condoms, tea & coffee including a kettle, in room electronic safe that could fit a large laptop. Key card electronic security and they give two cards so you can charge I pad or laptop while out and about, The walk in shower includes a rain shower.
Facilities.... Munch restaurant with a varanda for smokers. A tuk tuk that runs every half n hour, laundry service, Gym with a view of the city but no pool. I asked reception if it was ok to use the pool at Citrus Soi 13 and they rang the reception there to let them know I was on my way as they use a key card if the lift in Citrus 13 and they have a roof top pool.
The staff are very friendly and there is no joiners fee and it is ladyboy friendly
Back at Citrus Soi 11 and got myself a corner room this time as a bit more space and a better bathroom. One thats at the back and does not take up any room space.

Hi how far is it from this hotel to nana plaza?
Not far at all , it's a 10 minute stroll or less with the free tuk tuk

Thanks for the review my friend! I'm glad I booked here now as it looks good, and close to the action + it's reasonably priced!
I hope to see ya in the fall(November) and will be buying you a beer or 2 for sure, for the info(or just because you're my mate 5555)!

was great to see you mate as I got out of the taxi to check in to the hotel and what lovely company you had with Ja. Just to update this hotel. Tonight I got a phone call on the hotel phone, i thought maybe they are reminding me I check out tomorrow. But to my surprise I got a freebie from a ladyboy who stays in room 37. She had seen me come in the last few nights with ladyboys and clocked my room number. So off I trotted down to room 37

I think I best take two or three ladyboys, just to be on the safe side

Really love this place and was gutted I could not get in on my last trip. I find both the area and the hotel relaxing and laid back. Not like the hustle and bustle of Nana or Asoke.

Excellent review Oliver. Looks good and love the location

I have stayed at the hotel Ibis in Hua Hin a couple of times. It's pretty far from the main area, but very close to the beach and just a stroll down the side road. It has a nice big swimming pool and the rooms are just like any of the other Ibis hotels in Thailand. Built in 2012 I went there twice in 2013 . It's a motorcycle ride to Soi Binabaht where are the main night life area is.
My mate stayed at Bann Nilrath just around the corner from the nightlife area and it looked good but I had already booked Ibis Hotel again after going there with Michelle in March of that year.

I'm sure i may have had this as the stomach cramps I was getting were like an alien trying to get out of my stomach. The lack of energy I could put down to to many ladyboys.

Do they make a decent coffee (I know, I know - not very hardcore BM but I do like a good cup early in the day.
Yeah I often have a coffee ( Bon Cafe ) and sit outside watching the world go by
If you dont want to eat, have a drink on the outside part and it is a good place to watch the world of soi 4
Agree it has a great view to watch the street and people rushing by while having a cigarette and a coffee

thanx. i know they are lbs. the post is from 2014. this is 2015. things might have changed
It's a budget hotel in lower Sukhumvit. I think you'll find 99% of them to be ladyboy friendly. If unsure on a hotel ? Just fire them off a quick e mail. Only ever found one that had a joiners fee and that was Bell Aire in Soi 5
-
is this hotel still LB friendly ???
Indeed it is as that is Bua and an other ladyboy there
-
-
Yes it's LB friendly see Siam Mans last tr as he stayed there and brought many a ladyboy back

Looks very nice mate. What is $45.91 in baht ?
Might give it a go next trip
Edit out of plus one's for the day, need to go back tomorrow

A few doors up chequers bar also does great food , and has all the sport you need. Main Customers are people living in Bangkok , but don't be a dick and enjoy yourself with whoever you take for beans on toast
What ? You think I would pay for the beans for them. They'll get dry toast and glass of water

I have been eating and drinking at this bar for so many years i forgot how many.
It's good if you are picky with your breakfast, as I don't eat eggs or mushrooms. They have a build you're own menu, so you can pick what you want for breakfast.
The steak & Kidney pie is massive. i aways stop here for Sunday lunch as well and the coffee is Bon Cafe so which I like. Last trip i had the Pork for Sunday lunch pic included plus two of the steak menu & Sunday lunch menu.
Also very good to watch sport. Though was in there when England got knocked out of the Worl Cup by Germany in 2010, but watched City beat Sunderland to win the Charity Shield in March 2014

I have been eating here for quite a few years now and was a bit gutted that they have stopped the Lamb Chops. But the Pork Chops more than made up for it.
Other dishes i have had here include the Rack of Ribs, the Bully's Burger and the Steak

Last trip in October 2014 I went in to Q Bar to meet my mate from Oldham, he as lived in Bangkok around 11 years or so now. We stayed in Q Bar for a couple of hours and their where quite a few people in that night though it was a weekend.
Passed by it a fair few times over the last few weeks and noticed it had changed its name to The District
