  1. what is the deal? there are some great deals along the golden mile, so why stay out there and waste both taxi fares and the commuting time...?

Because sometimes it's nice to stay in a good place outside of Nana. Money is not wasted as they are much cheaper and often a lot better. Not to mention the roof top pool a private balcony a one bed room suite and jacuzzi, suans and Gym. Also a great night market to eat and tesco lotus just over the road. Saved me a lot of money in the long run.

  2. For Thai food I like Zanzibar restaurant. I first went here in 2008 with then my girlfriend Natcha, since then I have been back with Da a couple of times, Kim from Cascade, Michelle a few times including a couple of weeks ago when we met up again just as friends.

Limonchello for Italian food as its a little further a long from Zanzibar more or less across from Citidines. They do there own Limonchello shots and the red wine list is good but expensive.

Both are a little expensive I think it was close to 5000 baht for the 2 meals and a few cocktails me and Michelle had two weeks ago,

First 4 pictures are of Zanzibar oh just noticed I had took Leyla there as well back in Feb 09 on my birthday.

    Last two of Limonchelleo

@Mind as a condo 1 bedroom studio, 5 minutes from On Nut BTS less than £30 a night on Agoda. I stayed here for 5 nights it more a long stay place. Only 15 minutes away from Nana on BTS and a 70 to 80 baht ride at home in the early hours.

roof top pool sauna and gym as well

  4. Just booked into Citrus suites in soi 13 as my mates office is across the road and have to check out at 5 am as I have an early flight. Same time my mate finishes work and can drive me to the airport

So 2 more review coming up

  5. I know a couple of mates that have stayed there and they raved about it to me. I have never stayed in soi 8 as yet but I do like this soi for eating and having a relaxing drink.

Let us know what you think of the place after your stay I would be interested to hear what you think. Saying that I may give it a try myself in a couple of weeks time.

  6. You can ask them to fold the card and place it in the passport. No need to staple it as it's not law. Just make sure it does not fall out of your passport as I had lost mine and when leaving the guy asked for departure card and I could not find it after a few minutes of checking my bag, he just said fill another out.Daft fucker that I am put it in the zip pocket that is inside the bottom of the bag where my money goes.

As for the stamp I do not know, though some countries I have been don't stamp it at all.

  7. I recently stayed at the Ibis hotel back in March for 6 nights.

Located at south of Hua Hin. Very closed to Market Village.

Staff friendly and helpful. Having come from Ibis soi 4 Bangkok. There is a mini bus shuttle at 900 baht each. Though we used a taxi at 2000 baht and took the shuttle back 6 days later

    .

I booked the hotel from Ibis soi 4 over the phone at reception with a little help from the receptionist and as Accor Advantage Plus member I received 10% discount.

The hotel is by the beach front, You just walk by the side of the hotel and down a slip road onto the beach. Don't forget to look where you came onto the beach as it is easy to forget where you came on to the beach when going back.

Having come from soi 4 Ibis. It was like walking back in to the same hotel. As most Ibis hotels look the same Though their is a balcony but I found it a bit small.

The room size standard Ibis, very clean and nice room. There's kettle and refrigerator in the room and a 7/11 and Tesco Lotus just 2 minutes away Also free coffee and tea available in the room same as all in Thailand.

Swimming pool is average size and the water very clear and clean. Don't forget to bring the swimming pool towel from the room.

Wifi in the all hotel area are free, asked the password from reception.

Overall very good service from all staff and very nice hotel.

Would stay there again if I go back to Hua Hin.

  8. Got a new camera but it's not idiot proof " Doh " how do I resize pics to post ?

Go to menu find image size and set it at 640*480 or as close to that as you can and you won't have to resize pictures.

I will do it for you in 19 days time if you ain't got it done by then mate :Camera: :Camera:

  9. Is that the room you are getting/booked? Looks more like 1 bedroom place and might smart looking with it.

Just remember not to attempt to walk back after a heavy night out !!!!

Yea its the room I booked through Agoda and it is a 1 bedroom studio that they advertise. I took a look at it in March when I went to meet my mate Steve who was staying there and thought it looked good its so new it is not even on Google maps street view.

LOL yea that would be along walk lol I did walk from Nana to Amora Nova suites in soi 31 last November and that was far enough in that heat.

Me and Michelle got a Taxi back to soi 2 for a 100 baht I think it came to 72 baht but said keep the change

I enjoyed the night market area in OnNut where they had live music. I thought what the hell and my mate Luc (Shabba lb69) lives just down the road in Bang Chak

Hope I don't miss the Ibis to much lol

  10. @Mind Serviced Apartments Sukhumvit soi 85

This will be my next port of call as I have just booked a studio for less than £30.00 a night including that taxes as it was around £27 on a agoda then the add ons take to just under £30.00

I will make a full review once I have stayed

  11. stayed at citichic nana last week, very nice room and good staff no problems with bringing back lb.

a bit of a walk to the main road but they do have a shuttle that leaves every 30min.

would stay again, booked direct with the hotel and got the room for 1200bt

You can also take a short cut through to soi 11 then cut through a gate into soi 7 and its quicker going to Nana that way or take a right at Q Bar then take the first left that will bring you to soi 3. But then again your right. It is best to get the free tuk tuk to the end of the road

  12. I have noticed tht since accessing the forum using an ipad that some features dont seem to work. I cannot use the avatars and also cannot "quote" previous posts . Anyone else notice this ? If so is their a way around it or is that just the way it has to be ? Its no big deal for me but thought i would put it out there anyway !

    Cheers

To quote, just punch your finger on the post you want to quote and The quote should show in the bottom right hand corner Just the same as you do on a I Phone.

I am using the I phone on this post

  13. I spent a bit off time up that way on my last trip and the night market at Huay Khwang is full if ladyboys around 3 am to 6 am.

It's only around 60 to 70 baht in a metre taxi at night from nana

  14. Next to Nana Plaza across from check inn mobile bar and lb friendly. They also do a decent red wine at a reasonable price.

I have never stayed there but know many who have and they seem to enjoy the place. For location it right in the thick of it all
