because of the 30kg luggage allowance.

Well got news today that my customer might be flying to Italy to watch my event which means he will take the packages back with him and I will be free as a bird with no large luggage.

Whoppee!, but I wish he had told me a few days ago. I could have booked a cheaper flight without having to worry about the luggage aspect. Never mind, musn't grumble.

  2. When I was booking my ticket Rome to BKK there seemed to be a lot of flights arriving in BKK around 11.00am to 2.30ish. Unfortunately mine is one of them!.

ITA then Thai Air. Not cheap either. With extras it was $840.00 AUD. I picked that one because of the 30kg luggage allowance.

  3. Well I checked out Maxims Inn on google earth. Not impressed, so bit the bullet and booked at my 1st choice, Grand Business Inn, Soi 11. Got a grand suite for 7800 baht for 4 nights. More than my scottish heritage would normally allow, but I like the location, the staff are great and the room I booked is large. More than enough to impress the CIB girls.

Strangely the Grand suite was the same price as the smaller room.

I have 4 nights for the first spell and 3 more when I return after visiting Pattaya.

I do like the look on the front desk staff's face when I turn up with different girls each night. As that old advert said, "priceless".

The other benefit is that I can get my tasty 99 baht burgers on the corner about 50 meters away!.

Check out Hotel Salil on soi 11, usually cheaper rates on Agoda.

I checked out Hotel La Petite Salil. Is that the one?. The superior room looks ok. Only problem is that they dont have a free cancellation policy. I always like to have a safety net if plans change.

Yep it is easy to search for hotels online but......I think the purpose of the OP is to get recommendations from fellow mongers.

Agoda and booking.com don't tell you if the rooms are noisy or if they are guest friendly or how the staff treat you when you walk in with 2 ladyboys to take to your room or if the foyer is filled with families/kids who may have to ride the elevator with you and your 2 horn bag LBs. maybe educational for the children but I am sure some members may be embarrassed at those sort of hotels.

Haha, you got it right sydney..

I must say I enjoyed staying at Grand Business Inn. They helped me out when Thai Airways stuffed up my flight, but I think I can do better, value wise now.

I dont want to be further away from CIB than Soi 7. Lily is such a small thing, I dont want to tucker her out with a long walk!.:Rolling___:

  6. Looking to book a not expensive hotel between Sois 7 and 11 approx. I dont believe in paying big money for a room. Would rather use it on the girls. Thats coming from someone who has stayed in probably the top hotel in the world. Well it was when I stayed in it. Horses for courses!

I stayed in Grand Business Inn last time in Soi 11 and it was more than good enough to shag girls in, but the price has gone way up. About 60% more this coming May than it was in November.

Last time I got the grand suite for peanuts. Really good staff there as well.

    some very tasty burgers!

Best burgers I had were 10 meters up Soi 11 on the right. A guy about 19 and I think his sister, making burgers in a small stall in front of a small hotel. You can take your food up to the eating area in the hotel no problem if it is raining etc.

Now to the burgers. 99 baht for the small and 149 b for the large. Small is enough for me. Very tasty too. If you are used to Big Mac's you may not like them. These are tasty!.

To top it off there was a pretty girl serving juice from a cart at the kerb right next to them.

    Edifier.

I have a set of those arriving in the next day or so. I had to .My old MP3 player died, so I thought it about time to upgrade. Had Sony on the player.

I do enjoy listening to music while flying so doing that as well as blocking out most of the plane noise is a bonus.

Now to load up the phone with music. Ideas on the best way to do that?.

The MP3 had a good collection but you start to replay some when travelling a long way as we do living on the underside of the world. 25 to 30 hours to Europe etc.

I have no problem with a collection. Anything goes, within reason. Classical, rock,(Led Zeppelin etc), Beatle, Prince, Stones, you name it. A likeing for Sting too.

Here is one I really do like when he teams up with Stevie Wonder. great arrangement.

Eleven, in soi 11, 60 second walk to Cindys

LB, friendly, no problem, excellent pool, excellent breakfast, excellent staff, stayed many times before, will keep going back

Yep, stayed at Eleven in April through all the covid shit. Test, the works. Could not fault it. Next trip I am going back to the Grand Business Inn,(Soi 11), which is where I finished off my last trip. Have a large suite for very small money. Does everything I need. I'm a believer,(sorry a bad pun re the Monkees), in not paying big money for a room. Rather the girls got it.

  10. I booked what I thought was a flight on Monday. BKK to Phuket. Booked with Thai Smile and they advertised a service whereby if you paid $4.40 through Trip .com they would hold the price for 6 days. So I did that, but when I went to pay for the 2 tickets today, found out that it was only a price hold not a ticket hold. THere were none left. The bastards!!!. As it turned out it was for the better. The two Thai Smile tickets worked out at $350.00AUD. Advertised price without all the add ons was $104.00!!!.

I was on a tight schedule so then had to search for flights that worked for me. Got them on Thai Air. Still cost $300.00. There were options with Viet Jet etc., but by the time you add bags and seat selection, they were more!.

I think charging for std seats is a con. Sure charge more for legroom etc., but include std seats at the going rate. No need to add that on. Can't see myself hanging from the wings!.

  11. Are we talking about the Carry On movies from the sixties and seventies?. Those who are not from a UK or Commonwealth background will not understand.

On a more sensible note. I am travelling to Phuket/PhiPhi in November for a few days. I am sure I will manage with carry on, but my reg. will need to take a suitcase. You know what they are like!.

  12. Unfortunately another option has gone out of business during covid. Jennifer had a taxi, and she is a LB!!!!!!!. I chatted with her and because business was nonexistent she stopped driving and has set up a minimart in her home town near the Laos border. Going well she says. Good luck to her.

  13. Was speaking to a guy the other day. He said he bought a ticket Sydney to Frankfurt return for $1200 AUD. About $850 USD. He would only have bought it in the last couple of months. Think he is pulling my tit?.

I paid $1450 AUD Tassie to Frankfurt one way. This was about 3 weeks ago. Already gone up about $300 since then.
