Not thought of it like that, I can see what your saying, just once I am settled in I can't be arsed to up sticks again!

Scottie, I know you done this review two years ago but it is spot on and really sums up the hotel perfectly. The different mix of people at the breakfast buffet is brilliant to watch...and god help you if you nick a bangkok post from one of the veterans before he's finished! Walking through the packed lobby with a ladyboy is an everyday occurrence and nobody bats an eyelid.

Love the bum gun expression...totally apt! I am sure its only me who has any love for the Nana hotel on here, yes it is full of Monger's but it takes one to know one. In truth, I''m not overly fixated on hotels providing it's clean, secure, and in a good location and well priced.

Landmark is a great place to stay and probably unbeatable location.

Such is the cash cow nature of all farang tourism to Thailand the supply of all our needs will generally get met....by illegal means or other. -

Get yourself a late night coffee at Holly's SAG, always a good sprinkling of talent....not completely Freelancers as the gogo's girls often head for there after shift. coffee is better than average also. -

Forgive me if already mentioned but with so many BM's heading out next month I have three favourite places for good food at sensible prices. 1, Just at the begining of Soi 3/1 you will find this old time classic street food style restaurant...it is fair to say that it is spit and saw dust but it does superb fresh food and with an astonishing choice of fayre. Prices are really cheap in the 100-150 baht range. The table arrangements are communal but don't be put off as the food and fruit shakes are superb 2, The Bus stop restaurant on soi 4, same side as hooters and around 50 meters further down. Good mid-range choices of Euro/Thai food with decent service. Plenty of seating and a decent place to go with your partner of choice without breaking the 1000 baht level. 3, I know that The Dick spoke glowingly about eateries in Khao San Road, I went over there for old times sake to see if any of the old haunts from the 1980/90's were still around. Not much of them places left but the eateries there are excellent and abundant....superb value in comparison to Sukhumvit and a nice change of scene. -
Got friends in BKK that had to keep the kids at home today as the schools closed because of it. I actually thought things had improved with the quality of modern vehicles.
-
Agreed, but as of the here and now you don't want to be walking around BKK....seriously bad air quality.

not after cool just unpretentious ....and yeah I know, there are plenty of pretentious roof top bars in NY....temperature is not a real issue for me but obviously would be for a LB To each their own Thanks.

Indeed, but the cynical old bastard that I am sees through the plumes of flora and fauna and the polished chrome!

There is too many decent street level bars to be worried about finding rooftop ones at ridiculous prices. If you want an amazing rooftop skyline view go to Manhattan!

stay with Thai in a rural area for a month and you will really kick on....I did six months in CM 20 years ago and it forced me to jump in and do it. Small price to pay for the way i am treated now being able to converse.

Whats the matter Knobby....stick to the mongering!

Not as much as they have eating Indian food! -
How much did you pay per night and did you get breakfast included. I have already booked the Nana so interested to see the price difference for the same soi.

I love Thai food and I can do spicy but at the same time I don't want to get overly brave and ruin a night of LB and GG action!! A dose of the shits when every night is precious is not cool! -

Best advice is go to the ground level of the shopping arcades , Robinson is around about soi 15 there you can purchase coupons and choose from about 20 different stalls all doing proper Thai food for Thai's. You can cash back what coupons you dont use. This applies in pretty much all shopping centres and arcades. You wont get better choice or value.
