Thanks for taking care of that Lult, back to normal it appears. Would have been unfriendly for any new people logging on and trying to figure out what the hell we are rambling on about. Cheers Cheers SM. I was up all night sorting it. .....Erm....well, actually I PMd our IT master-of-all Root Admin Terry Tibbs and he sorted it with a few clicks of a button. So cheers TT

Thanks guys, we'll look into this. There have been a few server changes and software uploads recently, so little snags like this might happen. Thanks for letting us know and we'll get this sorted. Cheers LULT

    Accor Grand Sukhumvit (Formerly Sofitel)

Well, glad to say that my stay with the Accor Grand Sukhumvit, formerly Sofitel, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 6 was another winner for me (and my TGF who was with me this time). We were given the complimentary upgrade to one of the Junior Suites on both stays (we stayed here at the beginning and at the end of our holiday). Staff are very professional and helpful and do not bat an eyelid when you come in all arms full of 7-11 carrier bags of budget drinks and snacks to stock the room up with. The extra space of the living room and kitchen is a god send when you are travelling with someone. Unfortunately, no LB joined me in the room this time (but I did manage a quick visit along the road to Guess Bar when I sneaked out for a while ). I think this place comes into its own when it runs its promotion rates. IMHO, nowhere can come near to its VFM during these deals. This year was slightly more than the previous year. 2009 was 1330 baht per night (with free upgrade) and this year was 1700 baht (again, with free upgrade). The standard price is 3000 baht (early booking price) which, if you were unlucky enough to not be allocated an upgrade, the 3K would be better spent elsewhere. If you got one of the upgrade rooms for 3K, then I think that is on the money, but you don't know if you are getting that until you physically check-in. Would I recommend : Hell Yeah Positives : Location, High Quality finishings, friendly staff, no joiner Negatives: None (if you get a promotion price) Cheers LULT

    Pattaya Forum

I can't help you with advice on Proxy servers, but agree that would be the only way around it. Both sites use the same server and has the same software and settings, so perhaps the content has already been flagged as unsuitable. No doubt it will just be a matter of time before this one is too, so I would get practising with proxy's. Terry Tibbs is our resident software whizz, so hopefully he can help you further. Cheers LULT

Cheap Hotel With Pool Near Nep

If you do go for Nap-Inn, just don't expect a fantastic response from e-mail. It depends on who is working / checking the reservations emails. On a reservation last year, I emailed them a couple of time and still no response, so I phoned them (they dont speak English BTW) and asked why no one emailed me back, to which I was told, "Its email, of course we got it, you have reservation already. We would reply if its fully booked and no space for you". They spoke to me in a sort of "Farang crazy - he want too much" kind of attitude. TIT i suppose !!

    Accor Grand Sukhumvit (Formerly Sofitel)

THis is an interesting twist Up2You and one that rings a bell from a story from a BM on the Pattaya LB (or maybe the GG Addicts site)?? The BM was challenged in a similar manner where he had been bringing guests back without problems on previous trips and no one had said to him on his most recent trip. He brought a girl back and the manager said he would need to pay 1000 baht. The BM made a fuss (quite rightly I would say) saying this has never been the case before and he has no intention to start paying it now, UNLESS, the manager can show him something in writing that joiner fees apply and that he had signed the terms / conditions of this. The manager, like your story, said, "Ok no need to pay as there was a mistake for us not telling you". Maybe there are a couple of staff members trying to scam money now and again?? I would certainly never pay it unless I was told about it, especially if I've specifically made a booking for "2 people" sharing room. I will usually bow down to paying joiner fees when I take 3sum/moresome groups back where the hotel insists that only one guest is free. That said, I had a couple of 3sums in the Grand Sukhumvit Accor Hotel last year and I was made more than welcome to do so at the hotel Thanks for letting us know Up2You. Cheers LULT
  8. Hi RR, there are no silly questions here and I can guarantee that if you are asking, there are loads thinking it. So thanks for bringing it out in the forum. The reason there are no threads to explain all aspects of this software is that the entire "Addicts" forum family (Pattaya Addicts, Bangkok Addicts, Phillipines Addicts, and of course LadyboysPattaya and this forum) went through a MAJOR software change recently. With all things new, there have been upgrades, tweaks and troubleshooting ever since. The software was new to us (Mods) and we were finding out all about it as well. Now that we have navigated ourselves around it now, perhaps you are right, the Mods should consider writing an "ABC" document to guide for BMs to guide themselves around the forum. Regarding your "Warn" status on LBP site, everyone has this. Its a percentage bar based on what level of warning you are on. No one apart from the Mods can see yours and you cannot see anyone elses. Your warn level is a zero, so no need to worry about it. Basically, if there is a BM who has acted outwith the rules of the forum, but does not merit a ban, then adding a "warn" level to the BMs account is something the Mods can consider. It is very rarely used as almost everyone on the LB sites are acting in a very courteous manner. This new section won't happen overnight. All Mods do this in their spare time and is unpaid, so we can only squeeze in the odd hour or 3 as and when we get a chance. The first while online is checking new posts for rule compliancy, verifiying new registrations against existing members etc etc so it can be difficult at times to get a new product up quickly. We will certainly get this looked at though. Thanks again and keep asking questions for clarification Cheers LULT

You are more than welcome mate. I learned of this hotel in a similar manner from the Pattaya-Addicts website. Its a superb location and nicely fitted out. Mind take some pics of your room and perhaps a wee review if you have time (when you get home obviously! )

    Public Areas with Free Wifi

Thanks for this Slam man, In the UK, when you hit the Wifi Hotspots in McDonalds and Starbucks, when you try to you them, they require you to register with a company called 'Cloud'. I couldn't be arsed as I didn't know enough about them and how it works. How much detail do you have to give to these companies to be able to use their wifi? Cheers LULT

    Charge To Bring Lady Back

I read on Pattaya Addicts that Ibis do not charge for guests. The most definitive answer you will get is to just email the hotel first asking if they have a joiner fee. They are all used to it, so no need to feel awkward asking the question. I would say most will reply saying, "One guest at a time is free, if you have 2 guests in the room, you will be charged 500 baht per extra guest" Cant wait to see the pics bud and hope you have a great time in Bangkok.

    Accor Grand Sukhumvit (Formerly Sofitel)

LOL. She didn't know where I stayed, she was just a bit of a chancer asking for silly money initially. I always arranged the money first and refuse to discuss it again once the price agreed. You will enjoy August Suites. LBorGGloveemboth, Ive never stayed at the Asoke Hotel, so it would be good if you could give it a review when you have stayed if thats ok? Cheers LULT

    Accor Grand Sukhumvit (Formerly Sofitel)

You wont regret it. It was one of the best experiences of me staying in hotels in LOS. One thing to know is that there are two wings to this hotel : Old and new. The old tower is still very modern, so perhaps is not the best way to describe it. The rooms though, can be quite small compared to some.(but still a decent size). On my first stay, I was allocated quite a pokey wee room and I said I was a little disappointed. The bell boy told me it was probably the smallest room in the hotel and there are only about 5 this size. Dont get me wrong, it was still okay, but for a 5 star hotel, I suppose it was my expectations that let me down, not the hotel. Anyways, I said that it was suitable and they gave me a free upgrade to the Platinum rooms which are on the new wing. A MASSIVE difference. If you look at their website, their standard rooms in the old tower are actually quite spacious, its just if you are unlucky and are allocated one of the smaller rooms (you will know if you have been given one!!) Im quite surprised, but anytime I brought someone back, there was no request to submit their ID to reception. Thats fine if everything goes okay, but I was a wee bit nervous on one occasion, so I escorted her to her car to make sure she didn't cause any silly damage. http://www.bangkokladyboys.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=48 Plus no joiners in a 5 star hotel ! You just gotta love Thailand

Hotel Near Where The Action Is

WTTB Bud Ive moved this thread to the hotel section. You may want to have a read at the hotel threads in there. I think this thread here will assist you further: http://www.bangkokladyboys.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=54 In any case, I would ask Tim via his website at ThaiHotelDiscount.com or his Otelrooms.com to give you a price. He has a lot of cheap deals going. Anywhere between Soi 4 and 15 will be fine for a hotel. There is SO much action there you can't go wrong.

    Bangkok Ladyboys New Software

Yes, that caught me out in the beginning too mate. Glad you worked it out. For others, click on your profile name/avator on the top right hand side and select "messenger". PMs are referred to as "Conversations" on this new software in case you hear that being mentioned.

    Bangkok Ladyboys New Software

Hi guys, you will see that the board has been given a major upgrade on the software we are now using. For the existing members who were used to the old look, you might be wondering how to do certain things and how to navigate around. Please feel free to ask us any questions or highlight any problems you are having. The number one tip that I can offer is that if you are a PC user, the forum software seems to be working like a dream for those who download the latest version of Firefox. I use a Mac and the Safari browser is great. Thanks LULT

What's Your Favourite Bkk Hotel And Why?

Hey Tibbs, I can vouch for your recommendation of CitiChic. HOWEVER !!! I was on the first floor and had a little cutie back to the room (it was about 3:30am), I asked her if she wants a swim, so we ran up the stairs naked (we were both VERY drunk !), we kept running up those steps (not quite realising there's about 5 or 6 feckin floors to run up...........THE GLASS DOORS TO GIVE ACCESS TO THE GYM/POOL ARE NOW LOCKED FOR THE LATE NIGHT DIP !!!!!! Maybe their Health and Safety regulations have been reviewed since your midnight dip. On the upside, they may have saved me from appearing the Bangkok Post headline as "Foreigner Dies in Swimming Pool with known Prostitute" (I was SO drunk, God only knows what mis-hap there could have been !) So I had a nice BJ on the steps for a few minutes anyway Anyways, to the OP....... I'll go with Citi Chic if you can afford the 2500 per night http://www.citichichotel.com/touch.html If your budget can stretch to 3000-3500 (sometimes they even have deals on at 1300 baht !) for this 5 star, I would recommend the Accor Sukhumvit Grand (formerly Sofitel), Soi 6, Sukhumvit Road. http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-6171-g...tel/index.shtml If your budget is tighter, I can highly recommend Nap-Inn, Soi 4, Sukhumvit Road. Make sure you reserve the suite (dont get ideas of grandeous living, its just regular space with a window) at 900 baht per night. http://www.nap-inn.com/gallery.html You cannot go wrong with any one of these hotels location or quality.

    Places To Buy Wii

MBK is a great place for anything like this. Set aside 2-3 hours to visit this place. You will come out so many bags FULL of stuff you didnt realise your life was missing http://www.mbk-center.com/th/ There is also Panthip Plaza which is for everything to do with IT. Im not sure if it is big on computer games though (cos I wasnt looking for that). http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Asia/...Plaza-BR-2.html As for price......I've no idea. If you dont speak Thai, try and get a LT GF to go with you and do it all for you.

    Want To Impress Your Cutie?

Also, on the recommendations of T.T., I went to Lebua Towers Sky Bar (called Breeze). 64th floor of a 5 star hotel. Probably the nicest place Ive sipped a mojito (at 550 baht each, I was most definitely sipping) Money aside, the views were outstanding. And a couple of LBs up there who were there. One clearly looking for 'company', but just a coincidence as her LB mate was with her boyfriend.

    Iphones In Mbk

Also for sale is the mini i-Phone I asked if it was original, they said, "Yes, new one only out in Asia" It actually looks really smart, its like one of the new Ipod Nano's but with the appearance of a 3g iPhone. Yes, its all about the price. If its too good to be true...... What are good deals are the Nintendo DS games that are juiced up with 400 of the latest games for 1500 baht (no need to amend handset). Its not my thing, but my daughter loved it. Loads of places in MBK sell them.
