think the big and cheap Chinese-Thai pharmacy next to Bully's pub on Sukhumvit near Nana has also closed it's doors or is about to close?????
why do you think that? They are a licensed pharmacy!

They milk the venom from the snakes to produce the antidotes.
Top tip 1 - if you ever get bitten by snake - first thing is to try and kill it and then take it and yourself to the hospital pronto. Only when they can actually ID the snake can they know which ant-venom course they should use. Unfortunately there isn't a single antidote to all snake bites.
Top tip 2 - tie a tourniquet around the part that has been bitten to slow down the spread of the poison within your blood stream.
Top tip 3 - if you get bitten by a Black Mamba - make sure you get to the hospital within 30 minutes maximum!
Cheers

Sorry SAG got to disagree quite forcefully here on points 1 and 2.
I write from the perspective of someone who lives in the Australian bush and snake bites here are a fairly common occurence.
If someone tried to kill a snake after being bitten they will in all likelihood be bitten again this double or trebles the amount of venom in their system. Couple this with the effort of trying to kill the thing and the person has a real good chance of dying or being very very sick for a very long time.
Tourniquets are a big no no, a compression bandage or wide strip of clothshould be used. The person should be kept CALM and the wound left unwashed so that the snake can be identified.
The following site run by the Australian government gives some good protocolshttps://www.healthdirect.gov.au/snake-bites
i think the average monger has about as much chance of being bitten by a snake in bkk as being mugged by a visiting martian.
Be careful what you pass on as truth, it could end up with someone dying.
No black mambas here but a good variety of other nasties. I have always found that by leaving them alone they leave you alone. The vast majority of snake bites here are caused by people trying to kill them.
Sorry to ramble on but I think it’s important that people have the right information in this case.

19 hours ago, Thanks said:Sorry mate, but I don't know where to find these mesterolone tablets. I've seen some testosterole tablets though somewhere, but I don't know if this is the same or something different...
I've read somewhere that the longer a man's ring finger is compared to his index finger, the more testosterone he has.
Do you think that's true?

Lotus I used Airbnb about two years ago and the place itself was a dump the only thing that matched their photos was the view from the bedroom balcony. I did my dough and moved out after only one night. The only way I'd use them again is if I had seen and inspected the property my self before booking. Mikel's concerns are also very relevant!

Many thanks Oliver!! A really good site!

Fuckoff
My experience is some what different than yours I got a dose of gonorrhoea back in the 70s and it was definitely not from oral. over the years I have had many friends an acquaintances who have contracted stds and none of those were from oral. so not sure where you are getting those gigantic numbers.

I agree the grand is becoming quite dated , except of course for the new upgraded rooms in the lower floors of tower 2 ,
And has tired and trampled breakfast , busy lobby , poor facilities ....
But my purpose of staying at either place is not for a holiday experience , where breakfast and facilities matter .
Its the mongering experience ...Price , cleanliness , room size , and location.
Both hotels are LB friendly and I have never had a problem with multiple guests.
It was purely the recent price jump at the grand that caused me to switch to the Royal
I have not yet stayed in the suites in the Royal . Just a standard or deluxe , depending on the deals at the time .
But I find the hotels are pretty much the same vintage , Royal slightly less dated ... maybe ?
Main difference is Royal being on soi 15 , is less busy, and more private without the crowds hanging outside clubs and restaurants like you get on 11 .
But some mongrels might prefer that !!
Agree mate. I tried the new suites in the Grand but lack of any windows was a deal breaker for me.
Might give the Royal a go the crowds now on Soi 11 are definitely not to my liking!
Thanks for the ingo!

Yes stayed there 2 days ago ... standard room , but it was good . Nice little mini mart off lobby .. but of a walk to Sukhumvit on narrow soi 15 , but can cut over to 13 next to 7/11 .
I use the Royal for one nighters often .
Kinda like the grand president before the upgrades ... but still nicer than the tower 1 in the grand and much cheaper . For the price ... its ok
Hey Scoobie do you know what the suites sre like there? I always stay
in the deluxe suites in the Grand but they are starting to be very dated and dirty!

Renovation Ugh! Regardless of what hotel i stay in i always check first. No way will i stay if renovations are being done! Been caught too many times!
-
Dont even consider it! I stayed at a few hotels in bkk over the years and its a royal pain in the ass if they are renovating! In fact when i book a hotel I ALWAYS check first that no renovations are in progress.

i fly thai a lot(6 or 7 tomes a year) and this is a problem on int as well. i can book my seat on the return trip but not the out going from perth aust. i have asked many times at the check in desk but they just shrug there shoulders. tit is every where
I book all my flights now through Amex travel get the same deals as Thai and can book seats both wAys. For flights they are fantastic not worth consulting on hotels though

sorry double post
-
I normally leave around the sane time. I just pay 50% of daily rate and leave straight from the hotel! Cant be bothered to muck around on my last day there! Whats an extra 1000 baht at the end of a trip!

Yes! All that is stored on phone not the sim. The only thing that changes is your phone number. Just put in the new sim and you are off and ready. If you get a sim at the airport the girls will load it and make sure all is in working irder.

of coure
but why would any lucid human being want to stay in hotel near changi
Or go to Singapore! The most antiseptic. False, rude and totally boring place ( except the golf course which is great!)

Thanks Youngone, yes I was wondering about pavement problems there, I may revert back to Soi 11 I think.
-
I stayed in Feb 2015 before the remodel..... I liked it for the location and soi 11 has great eating spots....however I know since then that Snapper, Charlie Brown tacos and cheap Charlie's are all gone. Enjoy your visit! Nothing in the world like BKK!

I think you might have got President Park Soi24 mixed up with Grand President Soi 11. The latter was always my go to hotel, their delux suites are huge but sadly they are now a shadow of their former selves, very run down. Thus the move to Soi24.

Has anyone stayed in this hotel recently. I have a good deal on their Deluxe suites in November, It has good reviews from tripadvisor but would really appreciate a report from a BM perspective. Thanks.

QED !
. The fact that men have gotten HIV while taking PREP should be enough proof for anyone to be cautious.

Is the park still closed?
Thanks

Love it Mikel! This is one if the reasons i rarely go to Nana much rather explore around soi 22/24 and china town. I have seen hong king go from a get anyhing place in the 60s and Bugis St in Singapore dissapear in all but name. Everything is still available in these places you just have to look. Speaking the language helps. Adventurous! I get the feeling that’s a dirty word these days !!
