  1. Annual Update

I still have acute HBV it will never be cured but so what, to be honest I feel no different now as I did before it was diagnosed, being tired is down to the fact I am an old fart now and working 84 hours a week is a young mans game, sad cunt ain't I?

If I was to follow medical advice I would have died by boredom by now, "STOP DRINKING" fuck off, if I want to cane 3 bottles of Vodka over a weekend it is up to me, the two cases of beer are just incidental, Northern Vietnam close to the Chinese Border is not a hotbed of excitement but the $ is Good, haha

Biggest problem with HBV is foreign nations perception of it and not issuing Work Permits / Residency Cards hence the reason I end up working in Vietnam at least the commies still love me haha.

  2. Last time I was there was a couple of years ago and it was just as good as it had been in the previous years.l

Now I tend to go to a place nearby about 600 Meters away from Mali head up Sathorn 1 Alley Lane 1 which is in fact Soi Suan Phlu 8 just before getting to Suan Phlu there is "Uncle Johns" on the Right Hand Side

A Few reviews on trip advisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293916-d2578972-Reviews-Uncle_John-Bangkok.html

  3. Deep,

My partner had HBV injections 2 years ago and when I have my annual check up she also has anti body check a simple $50 blood test, well worth it for peace of mind.

  4. Hugh

I will never get better but can try to stay on same level, there are 2 levels of HBV Acute which is curable and Chronic which is with you for life, I am chronic, probably went bareback one too many times, cest la vive.

The irony is since I was diagnosed and modified my lifestyle I am feeling a whole lot better than I ever did before and having frequent medical check ups. A bit of a scare last week my CEA Carcinembryonic Antigen count was high, a tell tale sign of cancer, I just paid the £500 had a camera shoved down my throat and up my arse, I was clear but I do have a copy of the camera going up my ass on my iPad great ice breaker haha.

I am probably healthier than most other people my age, I know what I have and live life accordingly, I know that I am high risk of cancer and my Doctor tells me stop drinking and smoking and I tell him no, I moderate, people who don't Drink, Smoke and screw around don't live longer it just feels as if they do.

I know that my liver is in good health because I have an annual ultrasound, I know I am cancer free because I have had a freaking endoscope up my butt and down my throat, For Fucks sake I am over 50 years old and still playing football (soccer to my USA Cousins) perfect cholesterol levels, perfect Blood Pressure, perfect BMI etc something I get checked every 6 months, and I completed my last marathon in 3:18 still life in the old dog yet.

Brings me back to threads about "Retire in Thailand" hell yes top notch health care but it costs money, my insurance does not cover my check ups since it is a pre existing condition, I don't care, I only have one life and I want to go out disgracefully I am working on it.

  5. Personally never had the need for an App to get a taxi, it would take me longer to whip out my phone and type in the information than it would to walk to the end of the Soi and grab a passing cab.

The only time I pre-book a taxi is for Airport but I avail myself to the services of the hotel next door, this reminds me need one for Sunday AM back to Hanoi again to make some sanuk tokens.

  6. Thanks Morten ,,, the location would suck for me .. I like to be right where the action is :)

    Rod,

One of these days you may learn, this is where the action is at, just because the gurlz work Nana / Sukhumvit etc does not mean that they live there, Suan Phlu, Narwatiwas, Thung Maha Mek, Yen Akart etc is Ladyboy central, there are more bolt ons per Square Meter in this district than anywhere else in the world, great district.

  7. Morten

Suan Phlu has 2 sides, the odd numbered soi's i.e. the market side is nearly as rough as my home city where as the even numbered side is affordable middle class district.

The odd side is all family owned and operated, the market the tuk tuks and motocycs the Thai Mafia or Koh Lang Wang (thiefs behind the palace) where you think my board handle comes from :D

The big dick is my wifes uncle, his sister (My mother in law) is the loan shark, Bro in Law is the Debt collector and Mrs KLW is the family Lawyer, it's an amazing place

  8. Top Tip

To get to Sukhumvit from Narathiwas head away from Silom then go North on Ratchaprasedik, brings you out South Side of Asoke and misses out all the downtown traffic.

There are quicker short cuts down the back Soi's which I take, but hell I have lived in the area for over 23 years now so sort of know my way around.

  9. Very sad to hear that aswell. Does it effect your day to day life at all? I know you said you feel absolutely fine but its a lot of mental weight to deal with isnt it?

To be honest I don't think about it life is too short to think about what "may happen" I just get on and enjoy every minute

  10. Sad to hear about this...Have faith in yourself and i am sure you will do fine... how u contracted this ... can you explain more if u don't mind

Well considering I have the Asian Strain of HBV more than likely from an encounter with an Asian.

  11. OK

Time for me to post on this subject.

Ten months ago I was diagnosed with Chronic HBV, my initial viral load count was 12 Million but at my last test it was >170 Million off the scale. Where as acute HBV can be cured Chronic HBV is with you for life. I will start on anti viral treatment in 2 months time, my Doctor is worried I may get liver cancer if my viral load cannot be reduced, HBV along with chirrosis are the two main causes of liver cancer.

Physically I feel absolutely fine apart from my 4,200 THB / Month hospital fees but it is a worry knowing I could contract liver cancer at any time, the only restriction on my life at the moment is where I can work, many countries will not issue a work visa to HBV carriers

  12. Since I am in Europe for a few months and have finish work at lunchtime on a friday I am taking advantage of my free time to visit differant European Capitals to esperience the European Transexual scene

Of course I use the no frills low cost airlines so I have more buck for Sanuk and my eldest sister snt me this link today, I cannot stop laughing at this one

My sister is a great friend, she is in her mid 50's now but still thinks she is 25. After a couple of decades of keeping my feelings towards ladyboys / transexuals to myself I decided to open up to her one day. She is actually very supportive about it and just tells me to go for it.

I don't know if it just me or other believe the same , but your posts are coming across as aggressive and a little bit rude as of late, are you OK ???

I love street food anywhere in the world never had a stomach upset and even cheap ingredients can be tasty. So guys pull up a plastic stool and enjoy what the locals eat, any restaurant in any country get my ok if you see the people of the restaurant eating their i.e Indian restaurant full of Indians eating is a winner for me. Indian restaurant with pale face white people no thanks

Did I say there was anything wrong with street food? NO

Street food served in Lower Suk is Isaan not Thai FACT

There are literaky 1,000's of places to eat street food in BKK that are far superior to what is served up in Lower Sukhumvit. The clue is,

Do you see locals eating in Lower Suk Daytime NO

But I bow down to Jamies superior knowledge, having spent a few nights in BKK, or should I say lower sukhumvit, on his first ever trip to Thailand, he knows a damn sight more than I will ever know having lived here for nearly 20 years.

As such I wont bother posting on this board again, whats the point you all know better than I do.

  14. If you want a great Thai meal, just ask your LB to take you to her favorite place.

2 of my LB friends from Cascade took me for a late dinner after work, it was a street vendor /restaurant on Suk opposite Guess2, excellent meals & so cheap too!

    :D

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Jamie,

I know that it may be difficult to comprehend but street side dining in Lower Sukhymvit is "Not Authentic Thia Food" it is Isaan Food. The reason being that most BG's and LB's are from the Isaan area.

The only people I have ever seen eating there are bar workers and punters alike. The reason why they are the bar workers "Favourite Places" is because they don't know anywhere else apart from Soi 4 / Lower Sukhumvit / their room.. They like going there because all their friends go there and if after bar closing time and have not been BF'd there is a chance they may be able to pick up a ST / LT as a freelancer.

Lower Sukhumvit is the area where I have eaten the worse Thai food ever, low quality ingredients, total lack of hygene etc etc, dman I can walk out of my Moo Baan and cross the road to the parking lot of Lotus Express and pick up Thai food ten times better at half the price, but then again I probably know BKK better than any of the Lower Suk bar workers, ease of availability does not equal quality.

  15. If you are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser there is an Add in called TOR (The Onion Ring) which goes via proxy servers to the website of choice. Since your computer will be making a request to a proxy server which is not a known Porn IP addy furewalls will allow it.

Conversely you could try Torpark which works with any browser and is best when installed on a Thumb Drive.

I have used both over teh years managing to get through "The Great Firewall of China" and many places in the Middle East including Saudi.

Be warned that using any TOR type of software will slow bon your download time substantionaly since you are requesting another computer to get the page from the host computer so it takes twice as long for the request to go out and ditto coming back.

If your works server blocks you from downlaoding TOR PM me and I will email the installation file to you.

I am part of The Onion Ring Network, that is to say I allow my home server to be used as a proxy server for anyone using TOR, I am also well in tp Peer to Peer file sharing with close to 3TB of movies and Music available online. and I recently upgraded the RAID drives to 20TB Capacity so plent more can be added,

I may appear a bit geekish but far from it, I graduated from UMIST with a Degree in Computer Science 25 years ago and have worked with large Control and Automation Systems in the Oil & Gas Industry ever since, since you work offshore you are probably familiar with some of the shite I get involved in.
