    Buying SIM card after landing?

I'm not sure how the tourist sims work but regular sim accounts will stay active for a year if there is even a few baht in the account. You might try logging in to the dtac website and see if it is still active or if you know someone in Thailand who can top it up for you either online or at 7-11 that would work. dtac website is dtac.co.th

    Visa Run Question

Yes Thaivisa Forum is the place to go. While it has a horrible signal to noise ration there are some people there who truly know their shit. If UbonJoe answers your question it is pretty much gospel. There are no set limitations in and out as far as I know. When you have several back to back they authorities begin to question how you support yourself. At times it has been advised to carry 20K baht in cash when arriving if you have several in and outs. How long do you plan on staying? Why don't you get a visa that covers the amount of time you wish stay?

    Buying SIM card after landing?

You can get any of the cell services at the airport. I have a friend who went to 7-11 when he arrived and they didn't set the new provider correctly and he got a bill for $200 for roaming on his home account.

    Suvarnibhumi Airport lockers or storage

Thanks. And it is located in place one would need it. Just before getting on the BTS
  8. This is one good way to see a side of Thailand many tourists miss. The food is much better when you get off the beaten farang path. Food is a very social event for Thais. After living here 3 years I have a hard time eating farang food. I feel stuffed and bloated when I eat farang food... so they will too. It also makes them feel good to know you have an interest in Thai culture. And ask her about Thailand (if she is Thai) and Thai food.
  9. I usually fly Asiana to the USA and mostly because my travel agent could get exit row and bulkhead seats free. That is no longer the case. So I'm considering Cathay Pacific in which I'll have to pay extra for the seats but the airfare on this trip is super cheap. My question is: Does anyone have experience purchasing exit row or bulkhead seats when purchasing 'supersaver' seats? see attached fare listing. I like the Asiana route and times plus Incheon has remodeled the free international travelers lounge recently ...but saving a few $100 bucks might be worth it. As the ladyboys say: Never know never try. hahahaha j/k

    Cathay Pacific seat options

Thanks mardhi ... I just took a look on YouTube. Seats were at 17.2 inches on one video. I'm small but the person next to me might be 'overflowing' ... and not in a good way. I'll probably pony up the extra $300+ and stick with Asiana. Good service. A380 airplane, excellent service in economy and a fantastic free lounge in Seoul.

    Cathay Pacific seat options

Pricing on Qatar is acceptable but the route adds about 10 hours of travel time. Qatar looks great for UK / Euro flyers though. I checked seatguru.com and it lists economy seats on Asiana A380-800 at 18.9 inches. The Cathay Pacific 777-300ER is 18.5. However, the kicker is this seat map shows Cathay Pacific in the 9 across and not the new 10 across configuration. Makes you wonder what the seat width is @ 10 across.

    Cathay Pacific seat options

Thanks for the input. I had read that Cathay went from 9 across to 10 across the cabin in economy. I might check out seatguru to compare seats. I'm pretty small and I had pretty much resigned myself to paying extra for exit row / bulhead seats on either airline. I flew Cathay once about 4 years ago and it was OK. The segment from Asia to the USA is 2 hours longer on Cathay. 13 plus hours if I remember right. Asiana is 11 plus. $456 USD compared to Asiana $760 caught my eye. That is base fare plus premium seats.
  13. If this is a concern you can always use a cloud to store your pictures (and other sensitive data) on. So when you travel you delete the questionable material from your computer / tablet /cell phone once it is stored in the cloud, and download after you get settled in. Delete before you head to the airport on your way to the next ladyboy funzone!! If you really want to be cautious use a VPN to transfer the data. Don't most Apple accounts come with some free storage space on iCloud?
  14. A bit of this depends on how much you are carrying. If I have a couple of larger bags I just go taxi. Small carry-on buses are fine but you'll still have to find your way from the bus station to the hotel. If you are carrying very little baggage, have a bit of time on your hands and feel a bit adventurous you can use the baht buses when you arrive. 2 weeks ago I took a bus from South Pattaya (not Bell) to Suvarnabhumi for 120THB. http://airportpattayabus.com/V2/
  15. I think you can find mini-vans running out of Ekkamai as well. I much prefer buses to mini-vans. BTW... is the ladyboy taxi driver in Patts still operating? I forget her name.
  16. Can you find someone to channel Steve Jobs? Maybe this is a design flaw. Just kidding. But seriously... the next question is: Is this problem specific to this website or does this happen on all websites. Pattaya forum excluded as it is the same IPS software. Keyboards are very simple and standardized across the board. If this happens on other website text input boxes it is probably a configuration or other problem on your iPhone. Maybe a spot on the screen lost its sensitivity to heat of your finger. Remember those Apple Genius Bars? Is there one near you?

Choosing seats on Thai Air domestic flights

1 hour doesn't matter to me. I ask for and usually get decent seats at check in. I'm curious as to why this is not available to customers ..... or maybe I overlooked something.

    Flight at 1am

Wouldn't it be nice had Tourism Auth planned for showers at Swampy ... like Incheon Paradiso & Cozy @ 10 on Soi 10 Paradiso is the cheaper of the two. DaBed near Nana Plaza Soi 4 is dirt cheap (and reasonably acceptable) Surely there are others.

    Middle East eats

I'd forgotten that I had posted this. I went to Sharzad and the food was good. The dishes seemed to more than I care to eat so I cobbled some stuff together with advice from one of the guys. The food is good. The falafel was good but not at all what I expected. Small donut shapes instead of round golfball size pieces. My Syrian neighbor made falafel in hamburger sized patties. All of the food was good.

Arab Countries suspending Flights to Qatar

This is just the emerging 'new world order' that has slowly been evolving since the American empire peaked and started to decline in the 1970s or so. It is what it is....... The good news is: You will still be able to fly to Thigh-land and hook up with ladyboys for years to come.
