  1. My biggest gripe about the wifi was having to log in all the time, then they change the p/w every week so once you have it memorized, but speed was ok..... anyway...good place , nice staff. OP mentioned room service food....did they open the kitchen in the lobby ?

Was not open when I stayed.

I used the wifi on my laptop, had to login but that was ok for me. Yes, they had a reasonable room service menu that I used a few times, both western and Thai food, ladyboys thought the Thai food was good.

  2. but shit Wifi

I wonder if the wifi depends on the room? I was able to stream video no problem, but in both rooms I did notice I was very close to a router. Basically after a week I decided to stay another week, but I had to move room.

  3. I found the answer via wikipedia: "The exemption is granted at most twice in a calendar year when entering overland or via a sea border but there is no limitation when entering by air." so I should be OK. Now all I have to do is decide between Bangkok or Pattaya for the 2 week stay...

  4. Hi All,

I have visited Bangkok and Pattaya a few times but have been out of the scene for a few months due to a few issues.

Anyway I am a UK Passport Holder and in May I will be entering using the 30 day visa exception. Now my situation is that I will be entering Thailand for only one day/night and then I have to fly to a nearby country for a one week business trip, then I fly back and will stay in Thai for two weeks, is this kind of re-entry allowed? The whole trip comprising two entries will be less than 30 days.

    Thanks.

  5. Just to add to my report, my room has been cleaned everyday but there is no: please clean my room vs do not disturb hanger. Unless I go to lunch with my guest (which I have only done with Noey so far) I am typically in my room until late afternoon and the time the cleaner has come to my room has been a bit haphazard. Anyway, I just noticed this by the door!!!!! Really not sure how I could have missed it!

  6. I was quite surprised to read in the BKK post back in January that BTS stations were going to made W/C Accessible (lift's). I was even more surprised to see that they have started to do this. I saw an elevator being installed at one of the stops. I'm not sure if they will be open to everyone to use, which would make it easier for travelling with luggage too and from the airport.

So would that include Nana? It is a total nightmare there trying to get down the steps with a full case when going to the hotel.

  7. I have been in Phachara Suites for the last couple of weeks. I took a ladyboy back nearly every night and never any problem. They politely ask for the ID when the girl arrives and then call your room in the morning when the girl is leaving to check everything is ok. They charged no joiner fee, except when I had two ladyboys stay overnight at the same time and for that they charged 1000b, but that is clearly stated on a little sign at reception: one joiner free, two 1000b charge.

  8. Yes, actually I really took the photo for the tour prices rather than to and from the airport. I always take the train from the airport to the hotel and a taxi back. But the tour prices definitely seemed cheaper than going via one of the tour sites if you don't need any of the extra services they offer (well just in my experience).

  9. But I am intrigued now that you are saying you weren't charged, I wonder if they have changed their policy again as I did tell them people would stop staying there if they applied this stupid idea of theirs.

My visit was in August this year. I never had two overnight, but certainly had a few well within 12 hours. The two from Cascades was a (very good) ST but they were probably only in the room an hour or less. A couple of times a CIB girl didn't leave till about 4pm in the afternoon (after an LT) and I would have a prearranged meet with another one in the evening, say 9pm after a sleep and a shower. The hotel never charged, but my pattern was not exactly the same as yours.

But from the Phachara Suites email:

Phachara: free of charge for the first person per night and the second person we will charge 1,000 THB

Thanks for emailing them, but unfortunately, unless I am reading it wrong, this seems to say nothing about this being limited to concurrent visits only, so it sounds like you could be charged for having two girls during the night regardless of whether they are in your room separately or together. Also unclear is whether this charge is affected by the length of the stay by the girl, whether it is ST/LT.

One day after a day trip the ladyboy I was with came up to my room simply to collect her bag and stuff from the LT the night before, even though she was only in my room a few minutes, would this have counted as a visit within 12hrs?

As I say, I personally never got charged but it would be worth hearing if this ends up hitting anyone else.

  10. During the day I have had more than one girl there a few times and they never said anything or charged me. In addition to that I bought two back from Cascades around midnight one night and they didn't charge. But I have never had more than one of them actually stay overnight. I even took two ladyboys down to the hotel pool and again nothing but polite service. So unless it has changed it seems no problem during the day but I don't know about overnight.

  11. I actually think they don't make use of the 'living room' space, if they had it all integrated into the bedroom area it would make it seem much larger but then I suppose they could not call it a 'one-bedroom suite' .

I actually liked having the rooms separate, at night I would close the sliding door 75% and leave the outer aircon on. Now this may be complete conicidence, but I have stayed in a much cheaper place before, the kind of place where there is only a bed in a small room with a passable bathroom. I found then that in the morning (I always do LT) or when we woke up the lb would go straightaway (after anything sexual had finished). Where as I have found the couple of times I have stayed in a better place like this most of the ladyboys I took there did hang around till late afternoon the next day and they did quite often put their feet up on the sofa in the other room and watch some tv. I know some guys get wound up with ladyboys using their phone or watching tv, but I just like being around them so as long as the main business gets done I don't mind how long they want to stay in the room. But this only really works with the extra space I think.

I take your point about the door though, if they didn't have that the room would seem massive.

  12. Yes , i think you may have convinced me to give it a go next trip. :) . What type of room was that or what was it called i guess ??

On agoda it was described as the: 1 Bedroom Executive Hot Deal.

A couple of things I forgot:

I wrote to them before I checked in and asked for a high floor and the balcony that has a table and chairs. There are two kinds of balcony, one with a slightly bigger room but a smaller balcony with no table and you can't really use it, or you can have a very slightly smaller room and a balcony with a table and chairs. I don't smoke so I always get a non smoking room, but I don't care if the LB I bring back does so they can smoke on the balcony if they want. It also gives somewhere to sit out with her in the early evening and have a glass of wine before heading out for the evening.

    Aircon:

I forgot an important feature: There are two aircon units in the room (controllable separately), one in the bedroom and one right at the front door in the kitchen/dining room. There is a sliding door between the kitchen and the bedroom. So at night I turned the aircon in the bedroom off and just left the one in the kitchen running and this kept the room nice and cool without being blasted in bed.

There is also a decent sized fridge, microwave and a minibar.

  13. Just a few pics from my room at Phachara Suites:

This place is ladyboy/guest friendly (although I never took a ggirl to the room).

It is only a short walk from NEP, CIB, Guess and all the action on Soi4. Plus Darkside is just a short ride on BTS Nana. At the end of soi6 there is a white foot bridge that basically lands you right near CIB. There is a pool and a gym too. Opposite the hotel are 3 atms and a 7/11.

I took two ladyboys to the pool with a bottle of wine and it was no problem.

The room had an ironing board, iron, washing machine (with powder), balcony with table (for any lb smokers), and some maidens to dry clothes on on the balcony. For me this was very useful as although I just normally used the laundry service, it meant I could wash and dry everything the day before I checked out.

There is a decent sized safe that fitted my laptop. Whenever I bought a ladyboy back they always did the system of confiscation of guest ID and then call you to check everything is ok before they leave.
