  1. As an addendum, I arranged for another well known and obvious ladyboy to come to my room last night. She apparently was not stopped, just strolled right in hassle free. Yes it is a little expensive relatively but for a few nights, I find it ok.

  2. Hi all..any honest reviews on the Landmark?  Is it guest friendly and are the rooms/pool area up to scratch?  Thanks in advance.
Premium rooms are small but efficient. Lots of hot water, toiletries, etc. Pool is good size. Can even do lengths if you like. Lots of lounge chairs with umbrellas for shade. I walked in very recently, hand in hand, with a very well known ladyboy (to this forum) in street casual clothes. No one batted an eye. Not sure what would happen if you showed up with a 6 ft glamazon in a sequin dress.

  3. Well I checked out Maxims Inn on google earth. Not impressed, so bit the bullet and booked at my 1st choice, Grand Business Inn, Soi 11. Got a grand suite for 7800 baht for 4 nights. More than my scottish heritage would normally allow, but I like the location, the staff are great and the room I booked is large. More than enough to impress the CIB girls.
Strangely the Grand suite was the same price as the smaller room.
I have 4 nights for the first spell and 3 more when I return after visiting Pattaya.
I do like the look on the front desk staff's face when I turn up with different girls each night. As that old advert said, "priceless".
The other benefit is that I can get my tasty 99 baht burgers on the corner about 50 meters away!.
I usually stay in nicer hotels in Sathorn Thonglor or Ekkamai, close to BTS. When I know im in for a shit show with 1 or 2 or 3 LBs, I do a quick booking at LeFenix on soi 11. It's a shit hole but you can take elevator straight up to your room without the whole carding bullshit (although there are safety and security advantages to that I admit). Cost is usually 500 to 700 baht, not much more than a short time room. I don't like to shit where I eat. I will take the classier LBs to my base hotel though. Just another idea to consider in the future.

  4. Do tried to find the reviews on Heaven@4 but wasn't as easy as I thought. Anyway. I booked 2 hotels for my stay in BKK in February. One in Sathorn which is fairly luxe and will be my base. And I booked also Heaven@4 strictly for raunchy guests business ;-). Will see how that works out. Never booked 2 hotels for same period of time before......

  5. S15 looks great, might give it a try as well. I do prefer a hotel with a pool. S15 looks promising though with great location. I got a good deal on Agoda at Galleria 10. Deluxe Chill Room, 820 baht/night (maybe its the normal rate?). Only staying 2 nights there though before i go to Pattaya.
One more thing. Heated bidet toilet seats in bathroom of S15......a very nice touch.

  6. A couple other notes about S15, its next to Tom Tom's formerly Hollys if you need real coffee although I prefer going across to GC Cafe 4 min walk. Coffee is better but I do mix it up. Tom Tom is better to see and be seen.

Laundry is around the corner on S13. Shop around, rates are 60 to 95 baht per kilo. Hi Speed is the cheapest and best but you have to walk quite a ways to it . Fun as you are catcalled by all the massage ladies.

There are also no frills salons for inexpensive mannies, peddies and foot scrubs on soi 13.

On Soi 11, there is my favorite restaurant Vegaterie. Don't let the name scare you off. They have great wonderfully tastefully spiced dishes and purple rice bowls. One of the best fast food places I've eaten in Thailand. Not cheap but a great respite from all white rice and noodles.

I also like Asok being a little closer to Ekkamai and Tonglor for my other activities. Terminal 21 has already been mentioned.

Also great if you take transit from airport as you can get off at Makkasan and one stop to Sukhumvit on MRT. When I stayed at Galleria, or Soi 7, or Nana, I would take Skytrain to the end Playa Thai and double back on BTS to avoid 2 transfers (Skytrain, MRT, BTS.) - pain in the ass.

And yes, you will walk the gauntlet at night but didn't matter to me as I had a different LB on my arm with the odd GG every night lol.

I'm not a Nana guy, but I don't find the walk that bad when I choose to go, usually during the day for a special massage.

  7. Late reply, but i e-mailed them yesterday and got this reply:

    Dear Khun pennybridge

Greeting From Galleria 10 Bangkok Hotel, Central Reservation Office

Thank you for your kind email. In regard to your query, The Galleria 10 hotel is reopening from 10th May onwards and our booking engine will be live on the same date as well. I can help with the room rates and assist in making bookings. Could you kind advise the specific date check in and check out by return. Then, I will offer the special rate accordingly.

Should you kind more information please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best Regards,

I stayed at Galleria for a week a few weeks ago and am now at S15 in a junior suite. Not much of a price difference. Galleria has an unused quiet pool. S15 has none. I am loving the S15. Obviously not as quiet but I'm fine with the rumbles of Sukhumvit. Has an outdoor bar on the street you can sit in evening - great for people watching. I'd come back here again. The Movenpick up the street was recommended to me by a certain LB. I checked it out and it looks good too, depending on rate you can wrangle on Agoda.

  8. You tube channel HeyBigMango review Novotel Suites soi 34 and interview 3 lbs.
'Luxury hotel' is an overreach but it looks ok for the money.

"Big Mango"?? Lol. 0/10 for imagination. 1/10 for hyperbole 0/10 for sartorial disaster . 2/10 for interview salience. The jokes write themselves for this trope. No reflection on you Mikel!! Am glad to be informed about the Novotel.

  9. I always stay at the Salil on Soi 11. Always book a Deluxe room on top floor. I keep an eye on the sales on Agoda or Expedia and book when the price is right.

No pool. Small lobby. Guest friendly. If you take a LB up she will have to sign in but not GGs - they go right up with you unless they look like ice smoking trouble trash.

Room is sizable enough with large bathroom, soaker tub and separate shower.

  10. Hi All,

Just a quick question on traffic and the best way to get to Nana BTS from Makkasan station.

I'm using the ARL from Swampy to Makkasan and my hotel is on Suk Soi 7/1 (so right next to Nana BTS).

Looking at the map, it seems that a taxi would be best as its basically down Asok-Montri then turn into Suk at T21.

My concern is that as I land at 15.15 it'll be around 16.30-17.00ish (or Rush Hour) when I come out at Makkasan - so bearing in mind Bangkok traffic can be mental I wonder what would be the quickest way - a Taxi or the MRT/BTS combo??

I don't have a lot of luggage (carry bag and medium suitcase) so if the taxi got stuck at say Soi 10 Suk - I would happily walk the 5 mins or so to Nana and walk over the bridge - I just think walking with a suitcase from Asok would be just a tad to long.

Grateful for your thoughts - Oh and it'll be a Friday as well (so weekend traffic at Rush Hour...)

    Mattski

Haha. Sorry but so many quotes about LBs fresh from the farm. I cant help but chuckle about all the inquiring mongers FOB. Lol. The Airlink and BTS arent that difficult. No brainers actually. If you can find this forum you should be able to figure out the public transit in BKK.
