  1. The Key, Soi 19 Alley is good with a deluxe room at $50 per night. It is situated with two access points to Sukhumvit and very quiet. Very close to Robinson's and Market for food and toiletries. A five minute walk to Cowboy, 10 to NEP, no joiner fee and I hope I mentioned no noise. Perfect hideaway.

  2. Thanks all for the input. There aren't any barrel-aged craft brews indiginous to Thailand...yet.

The majority of 'craft' beers in LOS are imported from and labeled with names from other countries. It's understood that one would want to be particular and singularly associated with ones home country products.

I will continue to search for a Thai-oriented craft experience.

  3. Stayed here for a week last year. Good location down a quiet Soi; reasonable price, corner room was hood-in room safe, good water pressure, daily clean, quiet, no extra for guests and Danish eatery on the lobby level.

  4. I searched this forum and couldn't find a reference for craft beer. I googled and discovered there are quite a few craft brew placez in BKK, but am looking for personal input from BMs. I know many of you enjoy a tasty brew, but for those of you frequenting these extablishments, have you come across any BARREL-AGED brews?

  5. I have stayed a couple of times in the Landmark. The place is good and LB friendly, no problems with 2. My bill seemed to inflate over a few days though, paying for WiFi etc.

I know your post was made several yrd back, but at The Dream you mentioned the Annex. What is The Dream Annex? Another building?

The walk of shame is quite long, the conciege has a desk near the elevators and grabs their id's at that point. The Shangrila is the same. Now I only use the Dream Hotel as it has no problems with 3 at a time. I usually stay in the annex which does not have a duty recpetioist all the time.

  6. Been staying at Jasmine Executive Suites for several years now and its location, room layout and service was perfect until recently. They moved the front desk upstairs and now charge for joiner. Since there are two towers, used to be you could go up the lift from the car parl and bypass everything-but now you end up passing within view of the desk.

    I'll be staying elsewhere. :(

  7. I prefer the usual Asian carriers--ANA tops, Singapore Airlines second and then any of these three: China Airlines, EVA or Cathay Pacific. I have to agree with the last two posts about prices though, the best airlines to obtain the cheapest tickets are the ones that just had bad press coverage (usually for a crash)--Maylasian, Asiana, JAL and Korean Airlines. Just saying...

Another thing: You can bring your girls in via the main floor without doing the walk of shame past the front desk staff on the second floor. This is HUGE to me (and I suspect many others). Yes, you still have to pass the doormen, but they are ALL young guys who give you the nod and wink when you enter. A fiver here and there means they ALWAYS take care of you and provide entry to the girls when you don't want to come down to the lobby to meet her :)

    Forgot to ask: joiner fees?

  9. Yes, LB and GG friendly. There's a thread on here for the Davis and with pictures--not a variety of rooms, but all nice for the price. The hotel is a bit up the street away from Suk and so too are the regular hangouts (NEP and Soi Cowboy), but it's also away from most of the noise. As you come out the door and make your way toward Suk, right before the big street on the right are a few massage parlors--good time there too!

Staff is pleasant, but the rooms are starting to get a little long in the tooth--need an upgrade soon. Also, check to ensure they cleaned your room thoroughly...nothting worse than checking into a room that has the smell or a condom and finding that condom in the waste basket.

  10. I've stayed at the Davis several times. It's a bit up Suk, but close to massage central and out of the noise; and the Soi 33 bars...now there's Dark Side! I usually get a Superior Room (read: large studio), but it's a good sized room with moderan amenities and there are no joiner fees.
