Use one all the time. Best thing is not queueing for tickets, esp at Asoke BTS. Also have an MRT stored value card, although that's not converted to Rabbit yet.

I made further enquiries last night, when I was with a LB who used to work in Nana Plaza (and her house mates still do). She confirms what lotusguy posted. She also said it doesnt happen in GG bars either. The only testing she is aware of is 'pee-pee testing for drugs, when the police arrive'
In Singapore (one of the Orchard bars) there is a test, but if you dont happen to be working that night you miss it.
Some sensible LBs get their own tests done.

You're a new poster who asks a question - and gets a straightforward reply. Doesnt mean you're a newbie on the scene, or that you know nothing. But lotusguy does very likely know. This board tends to treat new posters well, but that is a two-way street.

I wouldn't assume anything in this scene .... ie. that LB bars do. But it is VERY encouraging to know that all GG bars in Nana do the tests in a robust manner with every girl present. It wouldn't be like Stickman to present such as fact if it isnt.
I will make some further enquiries. This might be a subject where wishful thinking applies. Lotusguy I'm sure has some solid info, as he's not prone to flights of fantasy. Well ... not too many

If it doesnt happen, there isnt really an explanation. This is Thailand. I too doubt it happens, but dont know for sure. Are you sure about the GG Bars (ie from reliable info, not just from a GG who told you she was clean?) On another thread you said you think it happens in Cascades. I've not heard that.
I assume it's not difficult to get a negative result certificate, unless the tests are very carefully controlled (and at a large bar it would be a major industry). Not saying it isnt a good idea, though!!

Several I would think, from the Ekkamai Prakhanong areas. Always interesting whether they acknowledge you when out & about, or vice versa. Depends who it is, but I got some interesting looks chatting to Aui once on BTS!

My advice .... depends on where you are going, and where you are staying! And if there's only one of you travelling.
If you are in Sukhumvit, traffic is often backed up, esp 4pm-9pm, so BTS much better. But if you are going to say Royal Palace, or Chinatown - then take BTS to the river (Saphan Taksin station) & take a river ferry.
Dont forget the MRT subway trains too. Easy way to get to Chatuchak Market, or Ratchada area. Or to get from Asoke to Patpong. Not many farangs seem to use MRT, but it's worth thinking about.
Good suggestion from scottie about the smartpass. Also saves queuieng for tickets on each trip

I'm often eager enough to take a taxi or tuktuk to Aspen with my dish of the day from NEP. The high heels dont always welcome the walk. It's a bit closer from Guess Bar, via the Rajah carpark

I've stayed recently. Rooms & bathrooms are good size, clean, + kitchen facility. Not much of a view, but that doesnt usually bother me. Wired internet signal good, free.
A bit far along soi 2 when raining or very hot, but ticks most of the comfort boxes for me if at the right price. Away from the mayhem, so can sleep! Cafe so-so (rarely used after breakfast it seems) No passing traffic, so motocy & taxi meter difficult to get (the ones parked are the usual bloated fixed price mafia).
LB friendly ..... apart from a scowl from the maid LOL

Very sad indeed. And with no local equipment or facilities, they are struggling to find the plane or bodies. Thailand is giving support, as is the plane manufacturer ATR. The plane was only 6 months old.
Disturbingly, I recall a comment by a Bangkok Airways employee to me a couple of years ago. I asked why that day's BKK airways flight to Luang Prabang (on an ATR turbo prop) had been cancelled for poor visibility, when the Lao Airlines flight wasn't. Don't think I need to spell out his answer for you.
An awful tragedy, I hope it was a freak unavoidable accident. Not sure the black box will give that info.
